The AMF narrative is mostly carried out be working class fans who have been hit hardest by football's modernisation i.e. rising ticket prices, they speak up more than most and as such the support for the movement isn't very articulate at times. AMF does raise some very important points though - ticket prices and standing at matches are things that many fans would like to see corrected as part of the reversal of some aspects of the game we have today.

 

I don't think you should assume that the AMF way of thinking is nonsense, it's a group speaking out against something much like political pressure groups outside Westminster. There are probably parts of it that you agree with.

Because we do not play any european cup, it is a way for him to be not too exhausted for the world cup. He wanted also to be in a very quiet environment for his new baby.

I don't really mind, but I think Falcao went to Monaco for the money and the fact that tax laws are so slack there too. I know there's a 'project' but any footballer coming into his prime should want to play at the highest level possible, and to be honest, the French league isn't that good and - like you say - Monaco aren't even in a European cup competition. He's either doing it for the money, or he's extremely unambitious.

Man City would struggle to offer the same thing simply because of the tax breaks in Monaco compare to the near 50% of your earnings here being taxed. It would not be possible to offer the same if they want to adhere to Uefa's financial fair play

We did not play so well in Ligue 2 it was not easy at all.

These players were good enough for Ligue 2, but not for Ligue 1, that's why our president is investing a lot on top players.

I think it will be great for a humble team like Leicester City to play a relatively big team like Monaco, looking forward to it personally

Concerning the fact that we do not pay tax as in France it is something known and an agreeement between to independant countries, since the French league has accepted Monaco to play in Ligue 1 80 years ago. These advantages are not new. The 75% tax is only a project, the law is still not voted.

And yes we have now a lot of money. But how to attract top players to play for a team just promoted in Ligue 1 this year and without any european cup?
Our president is very ambitious and wants to become a major club in europe asap. For that there is no secret, you need money. All majors club in europe are rich.
It is important also for the French Ligue 1. As you said, currently our Ligue 1 is not major in europe, but with teams like PSG and ASMFC things can change in the near future.

So we need top players to build this project, that's it.

You did have previous success, I can remember you being in the Champions League final as well which is a very good achievement. I have more time for Monaco who actually had success rather than PSG - PSG had won a pathetic TWO titles before their owner came along. I couldn't believe how badly they have done.

 

We have spent a lot of money ourselves. I still don't agree with it. I understand Monaco aren't the only ones and are no worse than PSG, Man City, Chelsea, Anzhi, Zenit and clubs like that, it's a sign of the times, I just personally think having someone come in with no ties to a club and spending huge money is unfair. Like I say, Leicester have spent a lot of money on players thanks to foreign owners - but I still don't agree with it at all.

I quite like Monaco, only been there once (and only briefly) on my way to Menton and Liguria and I wish your club all the best in the upcoming Ligue 1 season (even though I fancy Nantes more than you lot  ).

 

Basically, it all boils down to a certain fear factor whenever football fans see an "investor" buy up a (once famous) club and splashing the cash like crazy.

I do hope for you and Monaco that the money's spent wisely and not in desperate ways in order to gain immediate success - many other clubs have crumbled because of that burden.
