notnow john Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Nine days to go and Swann is hit on his bowling arm in warm up game. Off to hospital for an x ray. Could be very costly, he is irreplaceable .

Guest MattP Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Gives us a massive problem though if Swann is out. Vital we have him, spin is an area we are so far superior to them. It levels up a bit if we have to throw Monty out as first choice. Not to mention the lower order runs and a what a a solid slip catcher he is.
marko Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Hopefully it's just precautionary. He carried on batting afterwards so I'd imagine if it was a break he wouldn't have done that.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 He should be alright, 9 days to shake it off anyway (unless it's a fracture). On a side note, Mills and Craddock look promising.
marko Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Watson and Rogers confirmed as the opening partnership for the Aussies at Trent Bridge. Shame, as I was looking forward to Dave the bogan getting plenty of stick.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Jimmy will have Rogers on toast. Can't wait for that first pint a week on Wednesday at Trent Bridge, I hope we're bowling.
Guest MattP Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Shame I wanted to give Dave the Bogan some as well. Hopefully he'll be in at three.
marko Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Shame I wanted to give Dave the Bogan some as well. Hopefully he'll be in at three. I've had a think about it and I'm hoping he drops down to 6. That way, when we have the Aussies 110/4 at about 2:30 and Dave the Bogan comes strolling out, the alcohol will have really taken affect and the crowd will really go for it. The Bogan, completely intimidated, then gloves a nasty Anderson bouncer straight to Root at gully and the crowd go wild ala Mitchell Johnson's golden duck in Sydney.

I would consider that a solid start!

goose2010 Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 My Tickets came for Day 2 at old trafford yesterday! can not wait. Hoping Aussie's bowl first we have a decent day1 and then start hitting them about a bit day 2 in the morning then we skittle a few aussie wickets in the afternoon. But knowing my look it will rain all day!
Bobby Hundreds Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 Don't underestimate them, they'll have done their homework! Not now Micky Arthur has been canned. School's out!
Corky Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 This warm-up game has developed into a joke. Essex have lost three bowlers to injury, so England are allowing them to use a sub to bowl and also Rankin from our side, so the match has lost it's edge and first class status.

Yep, I switched over as soon as they did that, really not fair on the paying public at all. Feel for Craddock as well, just had a 5 for against England wiped from the record books.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 2 July 2013 Posted 2 July 2013 Happy a few of our batsmen have been getting some runs out in the middle, to translate that under the pressure of test cricket is big question
