MC Prussian Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Pearson should have gone during our dismal run last season. Not fit for purpose. What are the latest trends in the shoe business? Can I wear flip-flops at work, what do you reckon?
5waller5 Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 What are the latest trends in the shoe business? Can I wear flip-flops at work, what do you reckon? I do .... I'm not saying that everyone should ..... I think welders and brickies should probably avoid them .... But I'm all over them. But my washing machine is making a funny noise ..... I'm going to call NP and see if he can fix it.
Shoe Seller Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Pearsonites tend to like their shoes like their football teams and Pearson compatible footballers - with no soles. I do .... I'm not saying that everyone should ..... I think welders and brickies should probably avoid them .... But I'm all over them. But my washing machine is making a funny noise ..... I'm going to call NP and see if he can fix it. He'll soon fall out with that. Might try to loan a sub standard replacement from Manchester though.

Shoe Seller Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Yeah. Plenty of flair on show. Keep clutching at those straws. Tick-tock.

Tielemans63 Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 We should be beating teams like Monaco but that Pearson fella doesn't know what he's doing. Why weren't we in for Falcao? Embarassing.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 For me it's clear... WE HAVE NO LINK UP BETWEEN MIDFIELD AND ATTACK. We will be going round in circles, blaming Vardy, Wood, Nuge, Waggy. The reality is, they get so little supply. How this team is crying out for a really good, clever midfielder to just create something. Just that final killer ball to give our strikers something to sniff on. We are going nowhere with this midfield in my opinion. The number of chances we made you could count on one hand. It's not that any of the strikers are missing em. They aren't getting em to miss in the first place! Pearson's continued bloody insistence on getting the midfield players to do the dual role of both attacking and defending is not working. Their last goal, for instance, I think Knocky missed a tackle in our own area and their striker was in. What is Knocky doing in our own area? He's not a defensive midfielder? Pearson must sort this out and very quickly.
kingfox Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 One more thing from me, I thought before the match, our defence was our weakest position, but today it looked like our midfield needs more improvement than the defence. I thought Whitbread, Morgan, St Ledger and Moore all had good games. Also why are people slating Waghorn again, if those stupid idiots in midfield in Knockaert, Drinkwater & Danns fed him the service, he might of performed better.
Guest ttfn Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Yup. Arguably our best player. You'd definitely be looking for an argument if you called him our best player!
He's not bald Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Well if this is the kind of backing our lads are going to get this season why bother? We've just been beaten by a side who has spent £120 odd million, yes we were slightly under-par but no need to start throwing hissy fits. At least wait until after the boro game. Don't worry I will, back now and have kept quiet all close season,Pearson is still a waste of space!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Oh dear It's a bit of a worry Might be a pre season friendly but clearly not good enough
Guest ttfn Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Oh dear It's a bit of a worry Might be a pre season friendly but clearly not good enough Basically this. It might have been a pre-season friendly but we looked pretty shit. And we've looked pretty shit since the end of January. I'm trying not to panic, but today was either a pointless exercise in chasing the ball or a total disaster. We never looked like scoring. And before anybody mentions James' two efforts, the keeper could have thrown his hat on them.
Danno Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 We looked better in a 3-5-2, wouldn't use Konchesky as wing back though, would be better at left centre back as he has looked good there. I'd also personally hope to sign a centre back on loan, maybe Sama or Wisdom from Liverpool. Hopefully be something like this. GK Schmeichel RWB De Laet CB Wisdom CB Morgan CB Konchesky LWB Schlupp CM- (new holding mid) or King. CM-James CAM:Knockaert ST-Nuge ST-Wood
Dan Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Aren't they just talking about the game??? What over reaction do you find embarrassing??? To be honest "on here" was a mistake, mainly the stuff I've read on Facebook & Twitter tonight. Some of it is hilarious. EDIT: I take that back. Ever since you've said that it's taken a turn for the worst. Completely ridiculous over-reactions.

People going on about team selection and he's shit we tried things out against a top side better teams than us will lose by more than 3 against Monaco. Relax everyone and your pint about knocky defending is laughable I hope you never coach a football side, all midfielders have a duty to get back and defend as well as attack when were under pressure we can't have 3 players at the other end of the pitch.

Yes it's a friendly. But these players aren't strangers to each other. Bar one addition it's exactly the same squad from last season and they've all been together for a minimum of 5 months. So they should be a lot better today than they were, regardless of opposition. The few bright sparks from us would just about have got us through a game v Yeovil. We're still awful at defending set pieces. I'm not buying into this "they've got to try things out". If we want to go up, there must be a major improvement.

We just lost to a team whose midfield and attack is worth more than our entire club, oh and have you seen the friendly games that our rivals have played?????? If so you can shut up and stop talking utter bull. To be so negative after losing a friendly is one thing. But to compare our chances of going up after losing to Monaco is moronic. Name a team in our division who you think would of beat them or had a better result. ...............

It was accepted by some on here that our lacklustre performance against York was ok because 'it's only a friendly' and we have no right to go out and thrash sides. Well yesterday's game was only a friendly too, yet Monaco came, looked very smooth and beat us with ease. It's all relative isn't it. Fair enough, Monaco have splashed 125 mill in the summer, but I would guess the combined weekly wages of Gally and Danns could fund the entire York squad? The point is that Monaco came to play well, take it seriously and win. And they did, at a canter. Anyway.. Onto the important stuff next weekend..
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 And thank god I don't have dullards like you doing my laundry. (The answer was you'd replace the washing machine). So you replace the washing machine but find yourself in the same situation as new rules won't allow you to bring in any washing powder without getting rid of the old ones first. The old powder won't work with the new machine, nobody will take all those boxes of it off your hands and it'll cost you money you haven't got to get rid of it. You're still fooked but hey, at least you've got a new washing machine
Karljohn Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Agree with col, needed that tricky creative midfielder for a long time, I didn't see any of yesterdays game and by the sound of it, no one stepped up to push for a starting place next week, the service to the frontline is just awful.

Ok, fair play, but only after the York game had every player had at least 90 minutes " match" time. As the big silver badger says it's all about fitness in preseason. I personally don't believe you can read too much into the results, but a more worrying thing IS their fitness. We were always going to look laboured against a team as high in quality as Monaco, but we could and probably should of destroyed York. At times we were slow and indecisive and again predictable. I'm hoping it's just them getting use to playing 3-5-2, because we definitely look like we can play that system and against championship opposition we could see a better outcome. Anyway, bring on the Boro!

suffolk fox Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 A good training exercise for Monaco. A predictable performance by us. The players like Danns, Waggy, Vardy and Gally showed what they did last season. Kasper and Wes as always did themselves justice. Marshall proved once again he can't cross a bridge. James a little touch of class in the middle. Konch 'new hair' same player. Knocky tries hard. And Pearson - no comment. Shirts looked nice:-) Wish he would stop saying pleasure after every bloody interview too it really grates that's Pearson. Agree with your comments about the players same old same old for me ok it was Monaco in a friendly but we were on the telly and at home it was woeful glad I stayed at home and did not waste the entrance fee.
