Zingari Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Never actually been in one . We tend to rotate between Tesco Sainsbury and Morrisons ( probably my favourite)
The People's Hero Posted 6 September 2013 Author Posted 6 September 2013 Aldi do good beer also. It's direct rip off of Stella etc, right down to the exact can design.
cambridgefox Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Been the odd time and its good. Mince pies usually win top awards at Xmas. Downside you can't use a credit card,we lump all our shopping on ours for extra Tesco points which with work mileage managed to pay £700 towards my French summer holiday,so the cheapness angle doesn't work in my favour.
The People's Hero Posted 6 September 2013 Author Posted 6 September 2013 The no credit card thing is a mark against them to be fair.

Vlad the Fox Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Their oaties (hob nobs) are spot on, probably better than the originals.
Ric Flair Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 yep,lad at work goes and nearly every product looks like the real thing with a slight wording change. His McCoy crisps looked the same but had McCray or something like that on it. Their Potato Wedgie Krays are sublime

Yeah, I've noticed that. I was looking for some ham hock but wasn't sure if their version was the real deal or an attempt to increase profit margins by retailing a cheaper body part.
Ric Flair Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Mick Philpotted Beef is always sold out when I go in there.
Merging Cultures Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 the only thing i dont like is the one i use (Syston) the aisles are way too thin and any more than 3 trolleys down it and it begins to feel like a section of road in Kent. Brilliant ::
Mike Oxlong Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 The best thing about Aldi is its versatility for making anagrams. So far I've managed laid, dial, liad and dail. Now I've moved on to Lidl. Got dill. Fvckin genius.

sphericalfox Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 The Aldi goods are manufactured by the big brands anyways. There's genuinely no difference say between a Tesco/Sainsbury/Asda branded item and an Aldi one. having worked in McVities and KP it's simply the packaging that's the difference.
Mike Oxlong Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 what can you get from vimto? That's cheating. It's got 5 letters. However, I give you - Vomit.
SystonFox Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 the immitation mccoys are good, same font used on the package and everything. its basically what primark is to next.
SystonFox Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 That's cheating. It's got 5 letters. However, I give you - Vomit. or movit. i like to movit movit. i like to MOVIT
Mike Oxlong Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 Mick Philpotted Beef is always sold out when I go in there. Ha, ha. And their Pickled Jerkins
Uncle Phil Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 I got a bike tool set in aldi last week for £9. To get all the bits separately would cost a lot more and it all seems like good stuff too, except the chain link tool which seems to be made of cheese. Still, it's a bargain.
Zingari Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 What's their range of tinned meats like? They are equal to all the top brands . All tinned meat tastes like shite
Ric Flair Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 They are equal to all the top brands . All tinned meat tastes like shite Perfect, I love crap tinned stuff. Them little sausages you get in with your beans are better than life itself. Tinned curries as well, I could write a manifesto on them. M&S do a tinned curry that's probably better than something you'd get from Shimla Pinks, but even a tinned number from Londis with a sweaty microwaved naan bread hits the spot.

No one has even come near to bettering Vesta beef curry . I found it best to only make it using Perrier water though ( or possibly volvic if you're really stuck)
Vlad the Fox Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 The big multi bag of crisps are good, 30 for about 2.60, though they've took the BBQ flavour out which were the best.
