Leicesterpool Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 How about moving the away fans to half of the family stand going towards the west stand, so the family stand can extended to the old away end. or maybe turn the east stand into the family stand and moving jobber and his drum to the family stand half and moving the east standers to behind the goal between If you get my drift?
Bettsj2 Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 I think it would really help if they swapped the kop with family stand.
yorkie1999 Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 How about leaving the fans where they are, getting a giant crane to lift the stadium up and turn it through 180 degrees, that way the kop will be next to the away fans and everyone's a winner.
Harry - LCFC Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 I think we should swap the East stand with the West stand That made me smile
Monsell1976 Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 We can try everything going, but if people won't sing, they won't sing. The attendances make no difference as proved against boro last season, I sit in l1 and last couple of games people spent most of the time talking between themselves, and is quiet for good periods of times, and only got going once a spark set it off, like the Wigan fans trying to get to us. I just think we need to accept atmospheres at new stadiums are not going to live up to the old days, getting in early to get a good space to stand, spending the best part of an hour pre match singing, and it was intimidating for away fans and players, thought it was great when the away team defended the kop end, and were greeted to a wall of noise, and a chant of " who the fuxking hell are you". The matchday experience is very nice nowadays and family orientated, which is not a bad thing as I am a family man now. The only way I can think of improving it is to go back to the old songs mixed in with the new, we have become very nice in choice of songs, and very repetative. Bring back songs like ark now hear, if I had the wings of an eagle, disco, there once was a poor little cockney( obviously for the London teams), and mix the likes of these in with the good new songs like boys in blue, and personally get rid of the drum and become spontaneous like days of old, but all this takes people wanting to sing.
Zingari Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 I think we should swap the East stand with the West stand No !!! the sun would be in my eyes .
XLM Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Cheaper ticket prices. Not just for adults, offer student rates etc that are far lower than the current price - it's ridiculous to ask University/College students to pay around £20 to watch Championship football. It's the cheapest way of improving the atmosphere imo.
RonnieTodger Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 The Kop is dead. I had a season ticket there from 2007/08 until this season and it was usually full. Even last year, when attendances started dropping it felt like it. This season; when I watched the Birmingham game from the family stand, I couldn't believe how empty it was. If you put the Kop's and Family Stands attendances against eachother a few years ago, the Kop would be closer to double than equal that of the Family Stand. Now, it's the other way round and it's the prices. As an U22, it was £20 for the Birmingham game in the Family Stand. £26 in the Kop for an even worse atmosphere. No brainer.

Its true, so many posts about what the club should do, the fact is only the fans can create the atmosphere, if they dont want to then that's that.

RonnieTodger Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 out of interest are you one of the standers at the top of N1? No mate, this is the first year since the afore mentioned that I've not had a season ticket. I just pick & choose now.

AKCJ Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Get rid of sodding goal music. As soon as the music ends, everyone sits down and shuts up.
Langley Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 People would cheer more if instead of ball boys we had the foxy lady's handling the balls. How about thai lady boys handing out balls?
Lionator Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 It's bullsh*t about modern stadiums not generating atmosphere. Look at Stoke which is a fairly modern stadium and the atmosphere in there is immense. The problem is clearly the supporters. Too many grumpy people. Last season when sat in the Kop me and my friend were subjected to complaint after complaint from a mardy old couple who were saying we were singing too loud and that we were standing up too often (whenever we nearly scored basically). Eventually my mate turned around and told them to do one, the old chap then got the steward and we were threatened with ejection. For me the problem is attitude and also the age range in the ground. If you look at the Kop there are very few youngsters in there (11-25) age group. Maybe this is due to prices or whatever, but for me as a 19 year old I won't be sitting in the Kop anytime again soon due to the ridiculous amounts of negativity in there not just against the team but against people who want to be a bit more positive and look enthusiastic. Another issue which affects the atmosphere for me is people buggering off 5 minutes before half time for a pie or leaving the game early. You pay your money to watch 90 minutes of football. For 90 minutes in what 2 weeks can't people just watch a full game. Get your pie/pint an hour before the game, have a pee half an hour before and indulge in the beautiful game which is football.
Deucalion Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 What about a song about Kasper Schmeichel to the tune of 'Spongebob Squarepants'? I know what the chorus could be.
Zingari Posted 20 September 2013 Posted 20 September 2013 How about thai lady boys handing out balls? Surely that's unethical! Surely they would have left them in the hospital !! They don't take them home do they?
