Mack Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 I'm a right **** so go on my own quite often. The only downside is you notice the utter bilge often coming from behind you even more than you would if you were with someone.
Kegworthfox Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Drove to Carlisle away this year on my own go most night games on my own as my mates don't get time off even took wife to Cardiff last year and she don't like football
J.Lisemore Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Been to a few on my own before when my old man couldn't make it, didn't really mind to be honest. Obviously its always nice to have someone to talk about the football with but its nothing to be embarrassed about.
dannythefox Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Does anyone on here go to away games on their own? Me and two mates tend to go 4/5 away games a season on foxes travel but they have both left me this season and are only sticking with the season ticket due to they need to save funds. So it looks like going on my own or not go at all. How fun is it lads? Worth it? I go on my own nearly every away I go to. I live 70miles from leicester and theres probably only me and my dad that supports them from Gainsborough and I dont know anybody from Leicester but I never stops me going.
steveherbe Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 i was at Forest on my own when I saw you.Did I look vulnerable ? Why the hell didnt you say at the time? We thought you were with your mates. Feel guilty now we abandoned you to those deathly dull people next to you. Next time eh?

Next time eh?Thanks, you didn't go to the Watford home game and park down Saffron Lane,I thought it was you,but not 100% sure.
Meltonfossefox Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Did middlesboro as I was working up there...loved it felt at home for once. The last game I did alone was arsenal 3-3 ....can't believe the amount of people that left...what a fvcking amazing night....missed my train and got a £50 taxi...well worth it to see Ian wright shat himself when walshy gave him the stare
Spudulike Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 I'm going on my own tomorrow ... probably first time ever due to a series of events. Got a ticket in the family stand as it's £7 cheaper than the Kop and then thought it might be a bit weird having a fully grown adult sitting on his own in the Family Stand. I might get a few funny looks
Meltonfossefox Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 No you won't it gets noisy sometimes in there....I manage a kids footy team and we sometimes go in there and believe me it isn't all families ...you'll enjoy it
Mike Oxlong Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Never been to a game on my own. But then I am a schizophrenic.

allotment-fox Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 sometimes it has to be done but once your there it's fine, one big lcfc family I love away games it's like going on holiday
RGFox Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Lived in reading - earley - until couple months ago and now back in the shire. I think there's a few who live nearby to winnersh. Been to the reading away matches past few seasons with a mix of neutrals but I'm sure you could find a couple of fans around there B'stokefox lives nearby for one
nitsuj999 Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 I used to commute 350 miles to every home game for 5-6 years. I can't get up now due to having a family, but I do go to a lot of away games. Unsurprisingly there are not many lcfc fans in the south so I travel alone. Only problem I find is that with away games you feel like a tit standing up by yourself when you luck out and end up with the fuddy duddys. Would be more enjoyable with friends but I still get to see city!
FoxyPV Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Only ever go on my own due to distance travelled and I've always ended up talking to and drinking with fellow Foxes. Never had a bad time.
Grewks Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 If i go on my own i tend to take a notebook and a pen, and throughout the game i pretend to scribble notes based on the players to appear as if i am some sort of scout. The amount of looks and discussion i get from fans is amazing....always hearing 'Do you know who he is?' etc.
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 If i go on my own i tend to take a notebook and a pen, and throughout the game i pretend to scribble notes based on the players to appear as if i am some sort of scout. The amount of looks and discussion i get from fans is amazing....always hearing 'Do you know who he is?' etc. I was at a game a few seasons ago with my son and g/f (Sheff Weds away) and sat next to this chap who was obviously on his own.Pleasant fella, but a little strange and he insisted throughout the game on bringing out his little notepad and informing me of certain stats. Players ratings, passes completed etc... And after every stat presented, he gave a little, bizarre laff which made my kid look over with a look of confusion on his face. I went with it, cos I didn't want to offend the chap, but as the game went on, his stats got more and more complex. Was that you mate? Reading through the forum recently and with his love of stats, I wonder if it was Fleckney Mike?
