stix Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 You can't get implants on the NHS. My sister had her implants(teeth!) done on the nhs earlier this year.
ScouseFox Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Both my front teeth are rough at the bottom because they've been a little bit chipped (not visibly noticeable but enough for me to feel) because I regularly buy three bottles a time when I go out and hold one in my mouth. Every time I wake up from a night out my teeth are a bit less smooth. I would assume my back ones are a bit fúcked because I open bottles with my teeth if there's no bottle opener at hand. Bloody bottles. Going to dentist for the first time in about 2 years tomorrow. Little bit scared. Never had a filling or ever been told that I've got anything other than perfect teeth but I'm pretty sure they're less perfect these days.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 My sister had her implants(teeth!) done on the nhs earlier this year. Apparently you can, but only if there is a medical need. I should imagine that's fairly exceptional.
Captain... Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 I've got a few fillings, but fortunately after white fillings became standard so you can't notice, so glad I don't have any old style fillings.
Turtles Head Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 My mate is having his completely sorted out for free. He's having them done by a dental student. Generally, the more work they need, the better for the student.
Rincewind Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 When I saw the title of the thread I thought it was asking which police station you last accidentally fell down the stairs at.
rico Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 My employed brother gets his teeth done for nothing as he uses my unemployed brothers name
stix Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Apparently you can, but only if there is a medical need. I should imagine that's fairly exceptional. Oh yeah they had to fight tooth & nail to get it done. It's extremely rare from what I can gather.
The God Emperor Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 teeth cause you nothing but problems, my mate payed me a tenner to knock mine out for me. bit of blu tac and some dice work fine for me, never looked back and its a great conversation starter
Jon the Hat Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 I'm pretty sure I have the most expensive dentist in England.
Rincewind Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 I'm pretty sure I have the most expensive dentist in England. What salary is he on? Any less than £60k he is struggling and not charging you enough.
Guest MattP Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 What salary is he on? Any less than £60k he is struggling and not charging you enough. Maybe he just charges high prices to keep the riff raff out.
Jon the Hat Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 He is a partner in a surgery in Weybridge and has been for 30 years, I imagine he is doing pretty well. Maybe he just charges high prices to keep the riff raff out.No riff raff that's for sure.
Rincewind Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Talking of dentists. http://lcfc1884.wordpress.com/2013/09/24/the-dentist/
BoneDog Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 I used to have perfect teeth for at least 20 years but lost a few about 10 years ago when I got battered by some hard thugs. Funny thing was one of them was wearing skintight spandex hotpants and was dressed as "the only gay in the village" out of that comedy show. After they spread out and backed off I stood up and hollered something like "which pussy did that?" and sounded like a right twat as there were teeth sticking out all over the oche. Great days Eddie, great days.
Lamby Posted 24 September 2013 Posted 24 September 2013 Had 4 fillings in one go, might need a filling on the filling but cba getting that done again.

My uncle owned 3 practices in Norwich.Huge house, swimming pool, playing golf around the world.3 kids well educated. He was quite rude and obnoxious though! My nan lived a month shy of 101.Remember him saying to her when she was 99." I've travelled 60 miles been here half an hour, and you've not made me a cup of tea yet"
Zingari Posted 25 September 2013 Posted 25 September 2013 I've had all my wisdoms taken out , but I suppose you've all guessed that much about me. oh yes and i've lost 2 other back teeth , but i've still got a mcleans smile just like this

Ideally I need 4 new implants and the other 3 front ones are chipped as well but unless you really scrutinize them then they look ok. Lovely place, had possibly the best chinese i've ever had from nearby there after going to Sandown races and then stayed at a hotel close to Weybridge. Will return soon.

If you are ever at Sandown races again nip upto the Cafe Rouge up the road, it's got a huge bar area and turns into a swingers place after 8pm.

danny. Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 I didn't see a dentist for about 6 years and don't look after them well (too much coffee/red wine/coke etc.)... had a checkup last week though, some x-rays and a cleanup/polish and apparently they are in great health - maybe a genetic thing?
Dan Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Never had a filling or a tooth lost. Sometimes completely forget to brush my teeth in the morning but do it every night without fail. A large contributor for me I'd say is the fact I've never been into fizzy drinks.
Dan Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 I've never had a filling. Had to have two out when I had braces when I was 16 but that's it. How understanding is your employer? If you explain the situation he might be able to dismiss you and then re-employ you a couple of weeks later. You can sign on the dole and immediately get down the dentist, providing you can prove you are receiving JSA you'll get it done for absolutely nothing then as soon as the work has been signed of to be done you can rejoin work. You're more cynical than me and that is saying something

I work in Weybridge, can't afford to live here! My house here would be nearly double the price, and I only live 20 mins away.
