I am Rod Hull Posted 3 November 2013 Author Posted 3 November 2013 if they aren't being searched how would we know? but I've had this discussion with you before, you've obviously made your mind up about it. so...... Why are whites not being searched? could it be because the are less likely to carry knifes or be involved in gangs?
I am Rod Hull Posted 3 November 2013 Author Posted 3 November 2013 Dont piss down my back and tell me its raining....
Rincewind Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Why are whites not being searched? could it be because the are less likely to carry knifes or be involved in gangs? I think you have answered that question yourself.
Mike Oxlong Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Does your TV only get channel 4? Would you mind popping up on to his roof to adjust his aerial?
Mike Oxlong Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Why are whites not being searched? could it be because the are less likely to carry knifes or be involved in gangs? It's because of institutionalised racism innit!
Harry - LCFC Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Why are whites not being searched? could it be because the are less likely to carry knifes or be involved in gangs? Why do more people die in hospitals than anywhere else? They're dangerous places! We need to get people out of there! Sorry but you're getting the causes mixed up again to suit your agenda - you want to make yourself out as part of a 'superior race.' I'm actually in the unpleasant position of agreeing with you here, partially, I think it's quite possible that black people are more likely to have knives but I've already explained why that is - poverty - and you've decided not to respond to my earlier explanation. Telling perhaps?
MooseBreath Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 The reason black people commit more crimes thant white people is because a greater proportion of them are in poverty. Poor people are more likely to commit crimes because they are in a desperate situation and may feel unfairly treated. Why are black people poor then? Because they largely migrated from low income countries, as such they had lesser skills than the native population and were accustomed to earning less - this is very difficult to get out of. Parenting tends to be poor in these sorts of families and so the cycle continues creating a poverty trap for this social group. You are quite right to raise the point about statistics but you are confusing the cause of the issue. Being black does not make you more likely to be a criminal, being poor does. Pretty much agree with all of this, which is why Enoch was right, to a degree. It is true that those from poorer backgrounds tend to commit more crime, which is why if you import thousands upon thousands of people from poorer backgrounds, you get more crime. I think that's what Enoch was trying to say. Admittedly I haven't listened to the whole speech for a long time, but I don't think there is anything racist about what he said. He simply pointed out that openig the floodgates to waves of people more prone to criminality would lead to higher crime. Muslim paedo gangs Home grown terrorists Black gun culture Child marriage Female genital mutilation All imported crimes and immorality. Rivers of blood? Depends who you ask. Families of the London bombing victims would probably say yes.

Finnaldo Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 Does the statistics take into account the dark figure of crime?
Rincewind Posted 3 November 2013 Posted 3 November 2013 How many threads have been started similar to this one? They all end up with a lot of mudslinging then eventually it being closed by a mod. I have seen enough already. There are many black businessmen who are stopped regular and they do not carry knives so why should it be presumed that because they are black they are more likely to? There is only one reason why one would assume it.

Families of the London bombing victims would probably say yes. Indeed it is sometimes frustrating to see race brought into the immigration debate. I really wish that poverty, race, nationality and crime weren't so mixed up with each other by some people - there's a statistical link between them but that doesn't necessarily mean causation. Give me stats, show me evidence, Harry I will look for them. My explanation makes sense though does it not? Poverty leads to criminals. Race does not. I see you've repped Moose, someone who, like me, notes that there is a statistical link between race and crime but realises that there is a third factor involved.
Grewks Posted 4 November 2013 Posted 4 November 2013 I do not consider myself a racist, and i could not care less what colour your skin is. I do however, have more of a problem with the 'System' of immigration. Can someone tells me how it makes sense to continue to allow men and women of foreign descent into our country when there are not enough job opportunities to now only employ those who consider themselves 'truly british' but those who are also 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. generation immigrants? If a purpose of a bucket is to hold water, and the bucket suddenly has a hole in which is beginning to leak water, would you.... A) Try to patch the whole up (reduce the number of immigrants) B) Make more holes (Continue with immigration policies) I am sure many of you will disagree with what i am saying, but the way i see it ,and opposition to current immigration policies is always met with the word racist. For example, those who oppose the BNP/EDL - Why are they not considered racist? Even though i see the previous 2 examples of a mockery of british culture, they have a right to share their views, and to refuse them the right to do that is racist in my opinion. Furthermore, to throw in a football related manner, specifically regarding sol campbell and the fa commission. Sol said there should be a black member on the commission - But is that not racist in itself? Unless i am mistaken... Isn't picking a female over a male with the same skill set sexist? Isn't picking a person based on their skin colour racist? So for Sol Campbell to say there should be a black member on the board, purely because of skin colour, is in my opinion a racist comment. Night
Grewks Posted 4 November 2013 Posted 4 November 2013 Black people are more likely to be stopped and searched. In times of inflation and bad times there is always a scapegoat. Modern History has shown us this. There will also be a great orater who is capable of convincing some who that scapegoat should be. I believe Man has learnt from mistakes and has enough humanity not to be fooled again. But what came first? The chicken or the egg?? Are black people stopped and searched more because of the crime statistics? Or are the crime statistics a result of police targeting the group and searching them more even before these statistics occurred?

I repped him for the 2nd 3rd and 4th paragraphs ..and you still have not explained to me why 12% of the population of London commit 60+% of violent crime.... Back to the point... Watch the video and tell me he`s wrong

Admitting that race isn't the cause and that poverty and upbringing is? Good. I can accept that point of view and withdraw my accusation of racism if that is the case. Sorry I hadn't already answered your question, I would have if you had asked me it, but I have already explained the links between race, poverty and crime so that should answer your question.

Harry - LCFC Posted 4 November 2013 Posted 4 November 2013 Explain to me why 12% of black Londoners commit 60+% of violent crime... Poverty... I find it ridiculous that you can ask that question again when I had already directed you toward an answer. All that says is that you aren't satisfied with my answer and would like another one. Poverty leads to crime, black people tend to be poor, therefore black people commit more crime. I'm trying to find statistics on this but they're incredibly hard to get.

To be honest I'm not sure why you started this thread as your own view on this is pretty entrenched, as are those of others, so there's going to be precious little actual debate - just people going round and round. Mind you, isn't that a FT speciality?
ADK Posted 4 November 2013 Posted 4 November 2013 I actually think it's the USA that pollutes black culture more than anything.
