Finnegan Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Prezzo. Mmmmmmmmmm. If you want to reallyimpress her, whip out your vouchercloud app. It's always on there. On a serious note though, Oz, unless she's the most stuck up.snob imaginable then any half decent chain restaurant (not fast food!) is going to do. You can't go far wrong with dinner and a movie followed by a tidy bar. It's not ground breaking but she's not going to be expecting something out of a chick flick unless she's wildly delusional. Just be yourself, your company's why she's agreed to go, not the prospect of going somewhere specifically exciting.
Soar Fox Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 TGI Friday's for something to eat and a few cocktails. It's also got a hotel next door so if it goes well you may be able to suggest getting a room for the night.
Soar Fox Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 I'm surprised anyone wants to spend any time with you Says the man who's date was sat playing on her phone whilst on their date in Burger King.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Hire a convertible and take her on an open top tour of Saffron Lane.
Soar Fox Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Hire a convertible and take her on an open top tour of Saffron Lane. Have a bite to eat in the Caff on the Saff, then go for a drink in The Midland.
Lamby Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Says the man who's date was sat playing on her phone whilst on their date in Burger King. No, you're getting 2 dates mixed up there. I might be going on another one soon infact
21st Century Fox Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Says the man who's date was sat playing on her phone whilst on their date in Burger King. Was that the same one that took up two seats on the bus?
Alexikokopops Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 On our second proper date I took my girlfriend ice skating down Tower Bridge. Accidentally ran over her fingers on my skates, resulting in lots of blood. It's ok though, I took her to a pub that serves foot long pork scratchings and now we live together. Sound advice, right there.

Lamby Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Was that the same one that took up two seats on the bus? The BK one was yeah

I would disagree there, anywhere that is not a chain is so much more interesting, there is nothing wrong with Prezzo, but there is a fair chance she has been before, somewhere like Bistrot Pierre, (edit: FFS, even that is a chain, but it's not a big chain) just shows a bit more thought has gone into it, and it's a good price, you won't appear cheap but it won't break the bank.
Unabomber Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Take her for a meal at the Rutland & Derby, its a classy pub with really good fresh food and they do great cocktails too.
pSinatra Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Barceloneta on Queens Road is good for a date. Been plenty of times......I'v even been dumped in there! Spanish tapas, decent atmosphere, Dos Hermanos whilst you wait for your table & the food ain't bad. Order a selection of dishes to share & it's not too expensive.

Mike Oxlong Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 The BK one was yeah So near but yet so far.Just one letter away from the perfect date.

Driven past this a few times and wondered if it's any good, might have to go soon I bloody love tapas.
Corky Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 No, you're getting 2 dates mixed up there. I might be going on another one soon infact Maybe the next one could combine the two?
Mike Oxlong Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 If it's foot long pork scratchings you're after come round mine when the eczema has flared up.
pSinatra Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Driven past this a few times and wondered if it's any good, might have to go soon I bloody love tapas. Well worth a visit. Usually get half a dozen dishes between two & it works out around £20-£25. It's usually rammed (most nights) so will probably need to book a table
Soar Fox Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 There's a nice little Italian restaurant (Casa Romana) on Albion Street near Terrace. Very nice and she'll know you have made an effort.

Yeah sure but he's a young twenty something isn't he? Chances are if he's got a bird as far as a date she already knows she'd shag him which is about all he needs to.know. Don't do anything stupid, keep it simple and be entertaining enough in yourself and the rest is just minor details. He's not trying to get Arianne in the sack!

Alexikokopops Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 Where is this pub? My first date with my current girl involved sitting in the street eating a burrito sharing a can Red Stripe from the corner shop. The Draft House near Tower Bridge. It's got a great selection of beer/ales on draft (which you can't see on the website, sadly) and the aforementioned pork scratchings.
