England vs Chile and Germany

I don't see the complaints, sure we didn't create much against a defensively class side, but for once we are actually blooding youngsters, and trying new things, if not every single youngster in the country which some are calling for. We were decent tonight.

It's all about balance, you can't throw all those new players in in one go. We know certain players, through years of consistent club and international performances have warranted a place on the plane, eg Gerrard, Rooney, Cole, Jagielka. Over the two games he's tried some new players, Lallana,Rodreguiz, Jones (at centre back). Where the players you've mentioned like Morrison, Shaw, etc should have come in is in place a deadwood like Cleverley who we a constantly persisting with despite clear indications he is no where near good enough for England.

I agree, I didn't mean play all the youngsters at once, but bring them on for Gerrard, Rooney etc after say half time or around there.

Either way...thank god the championship is back this weekend!

Lallana is better than Zaha.

Not having that Zaha single handedly carried Palace out of the Championship last season. It's far easier to get into Southampton's team than Manchester United's. Zaha on raw natural talent is twice the player Lallana is. Hence why Lallana has played once for the U21s and only just been called up whilst Zaha has made the U21s his own and was called up to the full England team before him.

What to play along side the other youngsters? No!!! You know Gerrard will be there, he's your main man in midfield, the lynchpin, but he's gonna have one or two next to him. Wilshere has shown flashes that he's certainly worth a spot in the squad, Carrick and Lampard we've played along side Gerrard enough times, and we know they're effective enough, so no need to play them, but why play Cleverley when he's obviously shit, and that's where someone like Morrison could have come in, not at half time in place of Gerrard. Can you imagine a midfield of a debutant and that shower of shit Cleverley, what would we learn about Morrison from that other than he struggles against a decent side when playing along side someone out of their depth.

England have always been shit and will continue to be so for some time now is the time to blood the youngsters forget the likes of gerrard and co New blood is needed it is the only way!

Hardly single handedly given Glenn Murray's 30 goals. Lallana also contributed massively to Saints going up last year and this season in the Premier League he's excelled.

Agree Cleverely is very average. You need Carrick at the base of midfield and you let attack forward with someone else.

But you see what I mean? You can't play Morrison with Cleverley, you'd learn nothing. Or even if you started him with someone else who you mentioned as missing like Ward-Prowse, we'd learn nothing because they are so inexperienced, playing them together without someone like Gerrard would see them overwhelmed and end their international careers before they even start. It's not about not trying new players, because we're obviously doing that, it's about trying the right ones and weening out the wrong ones. Cleverley and Henderson have had plenty of chances to impress and haven't, yet are still persisted with, and that's where Hodgson is going wrong.

Yes mate, removed Gerrard as my word order didn't make sense and forgot to put him back in.

If Zaha had played regularly at a lesser club like Swansea (who wanted him on loan) he would have been playing tonight instead of Lallana. He's one of the most naturally talented players available to England. Sir Alex said he signed him because he believed he could get to Ronaldo's level. That is no small comment from the best manager the world has ever seen.

Well he better make a move like that in January then, because he can **** off if he thinks he's going to Brazil on the back of a year playing no first team football. Like I said earlier I'm starting to forget he even exists.

Majority of our starting 11 tonight, will be at the World Cup, half of Germany's probably won't be.

Smalling is shit, Cleverley is shit, then we bring on the likes of Henderson for players like Gerrard, while Germany bring on the likes of Draxler.

The team is a joke, god help us, if Hodgson picks the likes of Smalling, if so he deserves the boot.

Always? not at all 66, 90 and 96 I would say were some bloody good teams.

This current England side is certainly the worst and most boring it has been in my lifetime.

I remember as a young kid when Owen scored that wonder goal in 2001 was it? Back when we had Scholes and Beckham, plus Lampard and Gerrard in their peak. Now our midfield is bloody Henderson and Smalling ffs. Cleverly?? I rate Drinky more highly.

Only reaching the quarter finals wase disappointing at the time but most fans would snatch your hands off for that in this World Cup.

Zaha is overrated.

Zaha is not overrated. If you saw him at all last season he was far too good for the Championship and this season he hasn't had a look in so far so you can hardly judge him at the Premiership level. Moyes hasn't picked him, but has constantly chosen an out of form Nani and the serial diver Ashley Young so he's either lazy as **** in training or he's pissed Moyes off. Saying that though Moyes has never been one to give youth a chance (just ask Everton fans) which goes against the whole Manchester United ethos.

Just got back from Wembley.

After 25 minutes of stale ball domination, we were completely outclassed for the remaining 65 minutes. The Germans were just so much more intelligent in their movement and touch.

Cleverley is absolutely turd - I'm sorry but he shouldn't even be playing for a top half Premier League side. He doesn't do anything well. He's not strong in the tackle, he doesn't pass well, he doesn't move the ball quickly, he's not particularly fast and he doesn't score goals. At one point he seemed to take about 5 seconds to line up a cross field pass that was predictably telegraphed.

Lallana was very disappointing. I really rate the lad but he looked well out of his depth today.

I thought Gerrard played quite nicely until he came off. Used the ball intelligently and delivered some reasonable set pieces.

Andros Townsend is a weird one. GIve him the ball 70 yards from goal and he frightens defenders. He gets his head down and he carries it into a good position for the team. Whilst his final product is mixed (to be generous), at least he gains us a lot of ground.

But if he receives the ball within 30 yards of the opposition goal he is hopeless. It's like he needs a run-up to be effective. Every attack we had seemed to break down soon after reaching him as he invariably slowed it down and came back inside.

Perhaps he'll be of use in running down the clock in games we're winning narrowly, but I wouldn't want him ahead of Walcott in Brazil.
