foxfanazer Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Yeah I don't think any blame can be placed on Hodgson. I actually agree with the majority of what he does but the pool of players now and the upcoming crop just aren't good enough to compete with teams like Germany and Spain etc
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Oh we're going to get destroyed tonight, would need our best XI to even stand a even a tiny chance. No we're not. Germany are not that good. They haven't won any tournaments. They're not Spain.
Dan Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 No we're not. Germany are not that good. They haven't won any tournaments. They're not Spain. Are you thick?
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Are you thick? This has been established already
Jimothy Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 No we're not. Germany are not that good. They haven't won any tournaments. They're not Spain. Vast majority of international teams that could beat England comfortably have won **** all for decades you pillock!
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Not many, if any, teams could beat England comfortably.
Dan Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Not many, if any, teams could beat England comfortably. Do you reckon Chile could?
Corky Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Apart from the last World Cup, when we lost comfortably to, ooh, Germany.
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Do you reckon Chile could? Not in a tournament. Maybe in a friendly against an experimental line-up.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 It can't just be me that's fairly optimistic we won't get absolutely slaughtered tonight, can it?
Stadt Posted 19 November 2013 Author Posted 19 November 2013 It can't just be me that's fairly optimistic we won't get absolutely slaughtered tonight, can it?Agreed, Germany are a fantastic side even their 'B' team is great but we're not a dreadful side as some like to think. We've got a chance but we'll probably lose however we get destroyed.
Guest MattP Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Not in a tournament. Maybe in a friendly against an experimental line-up. Good job Chile had their playmaker out as well.
Donut Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Chile won comfortably whilst not having 2 of their biggest players in Vidal and Valdivia. Need 100% improvement tonight to even be competitive against Germany
C-man Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 I don't think we'll get slaughtered but I'll be surprised if we win. There should be plenty of goals though - we're shite beyond belief at the back and their back-four doesn't pull up any trees either. I can see us being fairly defensive at times - fair enough they've got classy players but having watched them a fair bit I think they struggle when teams sit back and force them down the middle. On my way to Wembley. Just hope to god I don't have to endure much 'and the RAF from England shot one down' because it is one of the most embarrassing football chants in history. Go on Roy's boys!
Brizzle Fox Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 We will have a semblance of a chance tonight with Germany feeling this is the game they can experiment in rather than Italy last Friday. Probably the worst thing we could do however is win as this would predictably bring the worst out of our tub thumping print media, hyping up our negligible to zero chances of progressing deep into next year's world cup
Ashley Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Oh my, listening to this on ITV about English and German football, so true!
StanSP Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Did Adrian Chiles seriously say he'll be 'embarrassed if we don't beat them'? Fvcking dork.
Jimothy Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Not many, if any, teams could beat England comfortably. Totally missing the point. Firstly Germany have beaten us comfortably, in a tournament. Secondly, you said Germany weren't that good because they hadn't won a tournament, most teams haven't in the last decade, including Germany, Netherlands, Argentina, Portugal etc, I could go on. Judging a team solely on the fact they have won a trophy is stupid, Tahiti have won a trophy since the Germans last lifted one. International trophies are few and far between, so saying a team isn't very good because they haven't won one for a while is incredibly idiotic.
Vacamion Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 If Hart concedes a cock up goal in this match, even though he's a young man with plenty to learn, and even though it's only a friiendly, I think he might be finished. At least as 1st choice.
foxfanazer Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Started well to be fair. Even Rooney looks interested!
Guest shearfox Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Playing a lot better than we did against Chile
StanSP Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Looking fairly comfortable on the ball, especially the forwards. And more so than the Germans. Think we'll be the first to score.
Brainy Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 This thread isn't very busy at all. We must be doing well
