Guest Bilo Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 If only it was being replaced by another terrace or safe standing end. I actually liked its shit facilities and questionable capacity, a real old school football experience. I'll never forget going there on a sunny day in 2010 and how mental we went for Marshall's goal last season.
Soar Fox Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 yep, left my mate in the posh end and got in about the same time.i had chronic back pain that day,so used my head.Left hand side back against the back wall. You would have been near to where the smoke bomb got let off after Marshall scored.
Kitchandro Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Because women and children stood on there? There's no rule that states children shouldn't be on there either. What about people that have never been on the terrace before? How are they to know that it could possibly be unsafe? Kitch, some people do lack common sense and sadly that is the way of the world today. Like I said I do think in terms of youngsters there should be an age restriction. As for the elderly and common sense - I don't really think a lack of common sense should bean excuse for the world t stand still. People go on about health and safety gone mad and this is exactly the kind of thing they're talking about. I can't even begin to list the everyday things that are dangerous if people don't use common sense. I'm afraid that's life, it's tough shit if you're too stupid to look after yourself. Terraces are not, there's always scope for people to get hurt in public, even in their own house if they don't think. It's not really fair on the majority when a few thoughtless individuals are the only ones complaining. The terrace was very popular which tells me it's a minority who have issues with it.
Kitchandro Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 The people who say "the stand was safe, it was the people in it that made it unsafe" how can they be seperate things? the fact that the stand allows people to create full and empty areas surely means the stand is unsafe? No, it means the authorities are disorganised. It's the whole Hillsborough thing again - and the police/stewards have recently been officially blamed for that. The same thing could happen in a seated stand if they oversold it.
The People's Hero Posted 30 November 2013 Posted 30 November 2013 Its a bit of both. Posh have undoubtedly over-sold that and the capacity may seem to be questionable anyway, but on the whole if common sense were observed (but these are football fans remember), then everything would be fine. Its a shame - and terraces are great, but it was probably an accident waiting to happen. Football necessarily has to be sanitised because you can't rely on those attending in general to have common sense. Football fans are treated like cattle and like brainless idiots who cannot be trusted to act with sense and respect because on too many occasions, that's what we (or rather you plural) are shown to be.

If it wasnt for the authorities taking this stance, the lunatics would run the asylum.
AndWhat? Posted 15 December 2013 Posted 15 December 2013 Got to say that almost brought a tear to my eye, nothing can beat a packed away terrace. I must be in the minority, but I just love the danger!
cambridgefox Posted 22 December 2013 Posted 22 December 2013 I bet that soil smells of p!ss,I was ankle deep in the stuff when we played them last year.on the terrace, down the stairs and down that bolt hole near the wall it was a river.

Kitch, some people do lack common sense and sadly that is the way of the world today. Grow up bert Millions of people stood on terracing and everyone had to do it for a first time. Yeah we had hundreds stretchered out every week cos it was so unsafe. NOT Had it not been for Hillsborough which was nothing to do with fans but a police fvck up and cover up we may still have standing.
Harry - LCFC Posted 25 December 2013 Posted 25 December 2013 goodbye you piece of shit ! Best away end I've ever been in.
LCFC FOX Posted 25 December 2013 Posted 25 December 2013 Best away end I've ever been in.Mine too sadly
MPH Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I'm not buying into this " it was dangerous" argument at all. Why wasn't it dangerous 25 years ago, or 20? Or even 15? My point us that people's expectations and perceptions have changed over the last 10 years and people have gone safety crazy which has added to the changing mindset of some modern day fans With the added incompetence of the Hillsborough police being spun to create what we have today- soul-less stadiums where the emphasis has been put on sitting down with a cuppa instead of roaring your lungs out for the lads. Did it only have 3 turnstiles? So bloody what! Have a laugh with your fellow foxes instead of rushing home to watch your Dvr recording of Eastenders. Did they ever over sell the end? Possibly. Then regulating a slightly reduced capacity is the answer. Just seems like another nail in the coffin of the way football used to be to me....
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 How to stay safe on the Moy's End 1. Don't stand on the yellow hatches 2. If you're crowded, go where there's less people. Maybe Posh should have included a leaflet with the tickets explaining the above.
