Strokes Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 Yes they do muppet the minute power is cut emergency lighting will come on. In the case we are talking about power was cut. emergency power cut in but was not enough to support floodlights and emergency lighting. As reported by national papers. 0.5 lux is the minimum requirement required by the regulations in anti-panic areas, i didnt have a lux meter with me but i guarentee this was surpassed in all exit routes.
Bayfox Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 And I hadn't been eating carrots before you ask why the **** not. Meat eater!!!!!
SantiagoFox Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 The stairs in the Kop were close to pitch black. You could barely see them. For me, it wasn't a problem - Im only 22. But for the older generations, I imagine it was quite frightening. There are some pretty elderly people at the ground who's eyesight isn't all that - football is not exclusively for the under 50's. Some posts on this thread are frankly quite ignorant.I'm over 50 and object to any presumption that I can't walk down a few stairs that are a bit darker than normal."Close to pitch black", not on my exit. Maybe you need a few years of being married and creeping into the house in the small hours... why the **** not. Meat eater!!!!! Peas for me
sylofox Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 They do have emergency lighting as did the football club. As the guy explained in the original post. My response was to adequate lighting at all times. Do cinemas have this? Do they have safety certificates? you really are fvcking stupid all areas outside the auditorium are perfectly light. You have low lighting on the stairs in a cinema. You don't have that at the football going down to or on the concours. Also the point is all power was turned to the floodlights. Keeping the game going was what they looked at first not personal safety not that it would bother me. But the law says different. If you want to quote laws at least do it on some you understand clearly you have not a fvcking clue on these.

You still cant grasp it can you, you were going down stairs you werent meant to be going down, that were still adequately lit by the letter of the law, and nobody was hurt. You are being a big baby, did you have a crap christmas or something, did santa not get you everything you wanted?

Mate, as much as Im bored of this whole argument now, I feel I need to re-iterate that the stairs that lead down from SK4 into the concourse were not adequately lit. The dim lighting that had been on at half time was gone at full time and they were quite literally, in total darkness. The only light was coming in from outside. At no point did any stewards make it clear to walk pitchside instead of using the concourses. Infact all the stewards were too busy protecting the pitch. Keeping the match going is one thing, putting peoples safety at risk is another. Come the 90th minute they should have been dimming the floodlights and putting power into concourse lighting. I was speaking to my uncle from the usa about this earlier and he said over there they regularly practice for these things. LCFC were utterly clueless.

LCFC were utterly clueless.Right, not just me getting bored thenlet me just re-iterate, the law states a minimum of 0.5 lux emergency lighting, (thats about 3ansi lumens of light, less than a candle) is required in areas of anti panic. Emergency lights are just to lead you to your exit, thats it really most are no more than 5 watt lamps off a battery pack designed to last for a minimum of 3 hours. The point is however you feel, its not the clubs fault it meets the regs, they have too demonstrate it to get a certificate. Maybe you should be complaining (not in my opinion) but your aiming it at the wrong source. Unless your experiences were significantly different to mine, i really think complaining is a bit of a joke. My last post here, im bored too.
promised land Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 You are being a big baby, did you have a crap christmas or something, did santa not get you everything you wanted? Coming from Norfolk he probably has a crap life and that's why he has a chip on his shoulder.
demon_dog Posted 29 December 2013 Posted 29 December 2013 I came out of the kop and the staircase was not in "complete darkness". It wasn't well lit, but it wasn't a problem at all. And I hadn't been eating carrots before you ask The stairs down from sk3 were in complete darkness! Whilst I did state I had no real problem with this, I noted that some people did. I was simply pointing out that had anyone fallen and injured themselves, the club would then be liable. Do you have a problem with that? It could have been case of the relevant bodies revoking the ground safety certificate. That I'm sure we would all be bothered about as we want to see the match. As has been stated by others, the stewards were more concerned about people getting onto the pitch rather than public safety. The fact is it was potentially dangerous and the club failed miserably on this. You may wish to throw your arms in the air and scream "elf n' bloody safety rules again". The fact is it's the age we live in. Next time (if this occurs again) I'll throw myself down the stairs and demand "compensayshun", who knows, I may get to see free games for the rest of my life.
