Maybes Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Some good humour in the stands. Particularly enjoyed the chants aimed at Guthrie and his squirrel hair cut.
ithuriel Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 The match seemed a lot longer without the screens to show the time and the mobile's lit around the ground looked like a sea of stars, was certainly an experience, not seen a power loss at the football since the season we went up under Little against Portsmouth at home
Stuliasz Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Thought it made the first half a total sideshow. This was my view from j3: Couldn't see the stairs at all on the way out, dangerous for the old'uns.

This was my view from j3: 20131226_152859.jpg Couldn't see the stairs at all on the way out, dangerous for the old'uns. Total sideshow, you miserable shit. They got the game going when the area had a powercut, credit to the efforts of those working hard on boxing day.
Stuliasz Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Ha ha calm down. All I meant is that it completely distracted from the game. Not having a go at anyone, thought the humour and the efforts to keep the game going were first class. People are so quick to jump down the throats of others on here.

Strokes Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I heard they found a squirrel in the fuse board, zingari told me they are conspiring against us.
davieG Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Club Statement On Power Outages Posted: Thu 26 Dec 2013 Author: Leicester City Foxes thank supporters following issues at the Boxing Day fixture against Reading at King Power Stadium... The Club would like to extend its thanks to supporters for their patience and understanding during today's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Reading, where local power outages in the vicinity of the stadium caused some off-field disruption for fans in attendance. While the cause of the outages had nothing to do with events at King Power Stadium, action was required to ensure the match could be completed without compromising supporter safety. Subsequently, operations staff took the decision to switch to emergency power in all areas of the stadium to maintain floodlight power, which was essential to game's fulfilment. While this action did allow the game, which City won 1-0, to be completed, we appreciate it may have caused some inconvenience for our supporters throughout the afternoon. We will be investigating the matter as a priority in the coming days. Supporters wishing to provide feedback may do so by email via[email protected]. Kitchandro Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 You'd think a club apparently obsessed with health and safety would have some sort of plan for this eventuality. It seems they only trot out that phrase when they're ruining someone's day and they need a reason to. Like Bilo says, our ground is shit but is apparently supposed to have benefits that old grounds don't have. It has failed on a facilities level today, just as it fails in most other things. See what I mean by it appearing old and run down despite only being built 11 years ago?
Larry_LCFC Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Exactly. Health and safety sees someone thrown out and banned for banging the back wall because it may cause the stadium to fall down and break into 1000 pieces. Doesn't matter that the fans might break their necks on the stairs because some funny fvcker didn't bother to invest in a few torches. Club has got its priorities completely wrong imo.
Jace Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Great decision by the club in my opinion, if we had been 2 down in the first half I feel emergency lighting should have then been a priority

Bert Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Just failed its health and safety inspection. No emergency lighting on the stairs or lights to the nearest fire exit. Chaos walking down the steps in pitch black, no stewards with torches nothing. Won't be surprised if people were injured. The ground wouldn't have been opened and passed off by the authorities if it didn't meet requirements. There was emergency lighting on the stairs as you went down in the concourse, as well as in the toilets and the concourse. Every single fire exit must have an emergency fitting above the door else it simply won't pass on the final handover.
Craig Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Whilst I thought it was fine myself, there were a couple of elderly people in front of me walking down the stairs on SK1 with walking sticks who clearly couldn't see a thing.

Langley Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 We're Leicester City, we piss in the dark. Loved the humour in the bogs at half time.

Stadt Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Unfortunately, I think our friend, AnotherShitSeason hasn't made it back from the shocking and dangerous events that occurred during and after the match today. He hasn't posted since yesterday. Or did we just win?

There was a bloke with a torch lighting up the stairwell. Older people waiting for the rush to die down before making their way out. That little lighting wouldnt get you through a safety inspection I don't think.

It simply wouldn't get passed off with health and safety otherwise.
