broughtonblue Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Only poor thing in my opinion inside the ground was lack of lighting in the toilet, sure someone was shaking my cock when id finished peeing, also some bloke went for a pee in the cubicle and bumped into someone already in there having a pee, good job we weren't playing Brighton!
whitlock Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 If you all think a bit of darkness is a health and safety risk clearly didn't go to QPR last week. 5ft wide concourses. Bunch of weapons. WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE
broughtonblue Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 David Nugent!!!! He scores in the dark!!!We don't pay the billsWe don't pay the bills Were leicester city We don't pay the bills
Fox92 Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 You'd think people would be able to walk down stairs and through the concourses in semi-darkness. Agreed... People moan we have to much health and safety, then when it's a little dark people moan again. And it's ironic people saying it needs attention, are the same that say they prefer the older grounds and bang on about terraces all the time.
Jace Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Great to see everyone had a good day out at the King no Power Stadium

Jace Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Whose Christmas wish was it for the CCTV to disappear?

Just for you. You expect certain things from old grounds, quality facilities are not part of that. I wouldn't have compared the shit facilities at Peterborough's recently demolished away end to, say, the Amex at Brighton. I went to stand and sing for 90 minutes, being prepared to forego padded seats, plentiful toilet facilities and edible food. From a modern stadium such as ours, you have different expectations. Character is not part of the deal, decent facilities become an expectation. The atmosphere is rarely as good as it is an old terrace, but you're prepared to forgive that if you want better sightlines etc. However; whether you're at the Emirates or Edgar Street you expect to be safe at a ground in both the concourses and the stands. An emergency lighting system at a modern stadium, or stewards with torches at older grounds is surely not too much to ask.
Lobsterboyuk Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Whose Christmas wish was it for the CCTV to disappear? Exactly what I said - "On the pitch!"
Stadt Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Has anybody got a picture of all the phones and the lights? That was fantastic!
MC Prussian Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Regardless of whether you think the stadium and the facility staff should've been equipped in better ways, the same goes for the intelligence of any matchday spectator. It may have been dangerous, but common sense has to prevail at one point with people being more careful moving around from seat to concourse and back. Oh, and did anyone die?
davieG Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Not sure why the power was still a problem on the way out as according to this report it was all fixed by 3.55pm King Power Stadium suffers power cuts as Leicester City play Reading By Tom_Mack | Posted: December 26, 2013 The lights go out after a power failure at Leicester City's game against Reading Comments (1)Almost 1,000 properties - including the King Power Stadium - were left without power today due to an underground cable fault. The fault occurred at 2.38pm, just minutes before Leicester City kicked off against Reading at the Filbert Way ground. A spokesman for Western Power Distribution said the stadium itself was not directly affected by the power cut, but did suffer interruptions in power as a result of the fault. Despite fears the match would be called off, the game went ahead, with City claiming a 1-0 victory. It is understood an emergency power generator was used during the game. The Western Power Distribution spokesman said power was returned to all 970 properties by 3.55pm. “Our engineers got out fairly quickly and we had 519 customers back on in 40 minutes,†he said. “Two minutes later, a further 445 were restored. They were all back at 3.55pm.†The main area affected was that around the stadium, where nearby university accommodation blocks were among the buildings to lose power. The Leicester Mercury received reports that homes in Knighton were also among those affected. It wasn't aimed at anyone, just in general because of the volume of older related posts but as I said, I agree. Although I think people should be able to negotiate the dark in an emergency. Remember there are exits towards the front as well.
Dan Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 What is it about football that people have to go ridiculously OTT about things that wouldn't be considered unsafe anywhere else. The mind boggles. That one's obviously directed at me, so I'll bite. Just for you. You expect certain things from old grounds, quality facilities are not part of that. It's very poor even if I don't think it's an unsafe as it's made out to be.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Has anybody got a picture of all the phones and the lights? That was fantastic!I put one on y twitter @stulcfc (shameless plug)It looked lie a robbie williams concert
promised land Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 If you all think a bit of darkness is a health and safety risk clearly didn't go to QPR last week. 5ft wide concourses. Bunch of weapons. This ^^^^^^^It was dark like it probably is every night around your house, in your garden. To many years under Blair and Brown has produced a nation of brain dead people, deal with it and carry on. I bet more would be on here complaining if the game was called off after we took the lead.
ithuriel Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 The section I was in, I went downstairs to the toilet ten minutes before the end, the stairs were pitch black and I used the handrail even though I have excellent eye sight, you had youngsters and old people who looked very unsure standing at the top of the stairs when I went back up. The stewards at the front let peeps go out pitch side through to the family stand at the end. Hopefully some lessons can and will be learned from this.
Harry - LCFC Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Could have easily been abandoned due to 'fan safety' which was a strong fear for me, I've seen many things affected for much less than today. I must say though, deal with it, it wasn't that bad, I do feel people need to (Without being sexist here) 'Man Up', get over it. It really wasn't that bad, certainly not where I was anyway and thats all I can comment on. If it had been abandoned I would be having a big spew over sissy H&S right now! No doubt i'll get a backlash for my comments now. Agree. I'd have been furious if we'd had the game called off for that. I put my iphone torch on whilst walking down the stairs, I like to think I saved at least 3 lives, and 8 sprained ankles. Hero
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Wasn't that bad I didn't think in the family stand. Wasn't pitch black and if people walked carefully down stairs nothing bad would happen at all
Larry_LCFC Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 The stairs in the Kop were close to pitch black. You could barely see them. For me, it wasn't a problem - Im only 22. But for the older generations, I imagine it was quite frightening. There are some pretty elderly people at the ground who's eyesight isn't all that - football is not exclusively for the under 50's. Some posts on this thread are frankly quite ignorant.
Bayfox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I survived the KP power cut - 26.12.13 I lived through the boro snowstorm as well. infact I count myself lucky I didnt go ipswich. Else I just dont know what could have happened.

Love that pic. It reminds me of playing football until about 10pm in the summer.
Strokes Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 The crowd was in great humour today, like being back at filbo. We'll play in the dark, we'll play in the dark........ Had me in stitches.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 All this being said, I'd have been apoplectic if we'd had to forego the three points thanks to the match being abandoned.
