Aus Fox Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Great thread this. Didn't know Mary Poppins was a city fan.. Leicester City's 47,298 record crowd, FA Cup 5th round v Tottenham, 1928.
AyewJoking Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 I'm sure it's Swindon 1991, Brian Littles first game in charge, the tickertape sporting blue went all over the blokes garden behind the stand! I was stood at the back. If I remember rightly it was 0-0 and their 100 or so local knobheads we're chased out of the ground by our 100 or so knobheads! At full time. Been in that away end at the old Oxford ground a few times, horrific fences, the photo looks like a scene from Hillsboro disaster. Cracking day that was,got to say a lot of them games away that season were good especially the Southend game....oh i miss them days surely would have been sporting green in 1991?
Guest lcfc80 Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 some cracking photos. It reminded me of some fellas photos of Leicester I found so stuck a thread about it in the general section, sure some of the older fellas will find it interesting

davieG Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Leicester City players run through the waves at Saltburn by the Sea in 1927 ahead of their FA cup clash with Middlesbrough. They'd planned a golf match but it was called off because of snow. So charging through the waves in your suits and hats seemed like a neat substitute. The result? City lost 5-3. Fingers crossed for a better result against Boro this afternoon. foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 It was a bad era in the eighties. So many outbreaks of violence, and always having to watch one's back, both in and out of the grounds It is funny how the quote in the paper for the Chelsea game reads: the worst outbreak of violence for MONTHS bad times indeed...

FoxesAreBlue Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 What on earth is that building in the middle of the Bolton stand behind the goal?

OzFox Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 More from the twitter site. Leicester at Chelsea 83/84 League cuphttps://pbs.twimg.com/media/BeM6St7CQAAxPlx.jpg Bob Hazell Hated going to the Bridge back then. You were miles from the pitch, it was cold and windswept and there was always the chance of a good kicking. I remember the Leicester fans being escorted from the ground, straight onto a non-stop tube to Kings Cross then onto the train to Leicester. Wouldn't have minded but I lived in north London.
