Merging Cultures Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I've met a number of people who are bipolar. All working. They manage their mood swings with drugs and therapy. Imo it's not an excuse not to work.

Dr The Singh Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Interesting. You'd at least agree that it's a good excuse for stealing £13,000 though, right? Right? My mrs missed out, she didn't rob anything, is there a payback scheme for missed opportunity for robbing while being bi-polar
Strokes Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 I'm in 2 minds about it myself.Half of me agrees with you, the other half thinks your being silly.
Rincewind Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 Half of me agrees with you, the other half thinks your being silly. What about the third half?
Strokes Posted 8 February 2014 Posted 8 February 2014 What about the third half?Only liberal folk have three halves
Guest Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Everyone is bi-polar. by definition. My point was that this is the fashionable "illness" to have at the moment. It's the celebrity illness. A few years ago it was that "too tired to work" syndrome.M soemthing or other.
Rincewind Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I believe there are different kinds and some are more severe than others. Only those with medical knowledge and those suffering or know those with it are better informed. I will accept their opinions over those that judge someone to justify their political views. I don't know if White Dee is telling the truth. I cannot judge from the small segments of TV footage of a one hour show which has been edited from sever hours of footage. Filmakers do not film one hour then use all the footage. They would need a few hours to obtain that hour so would edit it to make the programme watchable. I'll leave it at that and will try and watch the programme tomorrow.
Strokes Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 White Dee is bi-polar, one half is lazy the other half greedy, one half is a crook the other is foul mouthed.I really feel for her, I mean two personalities and for both to be cúnts, talk about unlucky.
Rincewind Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I also think God is bi-polar. One minute answering prayers and performing miracles the next causing earthquakes and floods. Don't cross him on a bad day or you could end up in Hell.

l444ry Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 In the UK we pay the banks a staggering £192 million in interest rates............... per day!!!That's right folks, subsidising the banks through bailouts and quantitative easing to the tune of around £2 trillion (£46,000 per adult) wasn't enough. They still have the ability to create money from thin air and to lend it back to us at extortionate rates. What a crying shame that so many working class people are dancing to the Tory tune and get things out of proportion.

Do you think that maybe part of the reason we're paying so much in interest is because we've borrowed so much, especially under the last govt?
Rincewind Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign money from the rich by promising to protect each from the other. Politics is the art of preventing people from becoming involved in affairs that concern them. Since a politician never believes what he himself says, he is surprised when others believe it. It is terrible to contemplate how few politicians are hanged.

Labour wanted to spend more and borrow more, also wasn't it Gordon brown who bailed out the banks and started printing money? What tune are you dancing?
Webbo Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 But haven't you been listening? The bankers are the good guys. Can you tell what your expertise in banking is?
l444ry Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Labour wanted to spend more and borrow more, also wasn't it Gordon brown who bailed out the banks and started printing money? What tune are you dancing? That's funny because Cameron and the Tories backed Labour's spending plans "pound for pound" when in opposition.

I've edited it. I never meant it to come across as sarcastic. I believe in compromise and give and take.
Strokes Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 That's funny because Cameron and the Tories backed Labour's spending plans "pound for pound" when in opposition.Ok say I accept that. You are complaining about current debt. Who is planning on spending less, therefore getting into less trouble? Is it labour?

What a crying shame that so many working class people are dancing to the Tory tune and get things out of proportion. Private banks hold a small amount of UK debt. The cost of servicing that debt is absolutely nowhere near £192m per day. That's a plain lie.You should probably brush up on Quantitative Easing as well, it isn't a Tory policy. It was Alistair Darling who kicked it off. Plus it was a necessary measure anyway. Likewise, the bank 'bailouts' (that weren't actually bailouts) were implemented by Darling, and supported by the tories because they were necessary.
l444ry Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Ok say I accept that. You are complaining about current debt. Who is planning on spending less, therefore getting into less trouble? Is it labour? I'm not complaining about current debt Strokes, just the way some react to it. The credit crunch was caused originally in the USA and imported here by incompetent bankers. The pain many are suffering was not caused by the Labour Party, Immigrants from Bulgaria or benefit "scroungers". To suggest otherwise is complete ignorance and bigotry.

Reforms are needed to get the long term, welfare dependants back into work and if that mean life on benefits is hard then great. It may not be the biggest issue for some but for low earners striving to survive we need to know that giving up is considerably worse or why should we bother?
