Hitesh Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Drinkwater nominated for the Player of the Month... http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-midfielder-Danny-Drinkwater/story-20422271-detail/story.html Surprised to see NP not been nominated for Manager of the month despite us storming to the top of the table! Not bothered either way but just a little odd - the nominations this month are Lee Clark (Birmingham City), Billy Davies (Nottingham Forest), Mick McCarthy (Ipswich Town) and Schteve McClaren (Derby County)
Basingstoke Fox Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 It's not that surprising if you remember the Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton results. Either way, I'm happy for us to just keep plodding along under the radar.
Dan Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Have we actually won a single one of these yet? Despite having nominations every month.

goose2010 Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 We lost the first two games in December so guess that's why NP isnt up for it. Glad to see DD get some credit I'm a firm believer that if drinky plays well we play well.

Bluetintedspecs Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Lets not forget the last one was won by Oscar Garcia of Brighton, who beat Leicester 3-1 in his next game.stop pissing on our chips Dan
Basingstoke Fox Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Under the radar? We're 4 points clear at the top Yeah but it's not exactly like we're making too many headlines and we haven't won a single one of these awards (except for Moore getting YPOTM). All I mean is I'm happy for people to not take much notice of us and we can stay just where we are.
foxfanazer Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Congratulations Danny Drinkwater, player of the month. Thoroughly deserved imo

lcfc will Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Drinkwater named Player of the MonthPosted on: 10.01.2014 Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater has been named the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for December. Drinkwater's energy and constant willingness to go forward were the driving force as City went top of the Sky Bet Championship. He was superb in the 1-0 win at Queens Park Rangers, trying countless shots from distance, including a great long-range goal against Bolton Wanderers. Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson said: "It's an excellent individual accolade for Danny, just as it was for Lloyd Dyer when he was nominated for the award last month. "Danny's been an important player this season and played a lot of football during December. "It says a lot about him that he has been able to maintain such high standards. "I'm sure Danny would be the first to acknowledge that personal recognition such as this is a reflection of the work of his team mates. "It's been a very good spell for the whole squad."Sky Sports' Football League pundit Don Goodman said: "Danny's Man of the Match performance in the 1-0 away win at title rivals QPR typified his commitment, determination and class. "Leicester will need to keep him fit and at the top of his game to maintain their place at the top of the Sky Bet Championship, the challenge is only just beginning." Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: "Danny has been an integral part of the Foxes' table topping form. "Nigel Pearson will be looking for the former Manchester United player to keep the form he has shown if Leicester are to grace the Premier League again."
