It's true - seven straight days without an LCFC game are a chore. C'mon, Leicester! Despite Middlesbrough's impressive form of late, I have a good feeling about this. As long as we cancel out their dangerous wing play, we should be fine.

UTBoro Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Now on route to Leicester Just a quick point I'm lead to believe that your RB Richie de Laet is struggling with a muscle injury. AA is rapid and very direct and I think it could be a mistake on your part to shot him straight in against Albert On the other Side it will be Paul konchesky against Ledesma lets just say he will have his work cut out again especially on the counter attack For me that's where the game lies if you can stop our wingers then you'll probably win because despite 5 clean sheets in six i can't see us keeping another clean sheet today unfortunately

A loss here and then bouncing straight back with a win on Tuesday wouldn't be the worst result in the world. I also wonder what Pearson will do to the starting line up today given the two games in quick succession - he'll probably have to rotate at some point. Prediction 2 - 3.

I know the feeling - Burnley have been in top spot more than anyone this season and it certainly feels that you are there to be shot at if you are top dog. I think it means more to the other clubs if they can claim the league leaders' scalp rather than the 2nd or 3rd placed teams. Burnley have certainly regained some of their early season form since losing top spot after the defeat at Middlesbrough on Boxing Day. Since then, we have drawn at Wigan, beaten Huddersfield and Yeovil and gave one of our best displays of the season against Sheffield Wednesday despite only drawing 1-1. I'd be happy to be second or third with about six games to go.

One of the best RBs in the league, no doubt. If he is against Albert then it will be a challenge, but I have faith that RDL will come out on top.
lancyclaret Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Adomah is quick but a one-trick pony - he loves cutting in and shooting but is not a particularly good crosser of the ball. Not bothered about FA Cup today but we play Brighton at home on Tuesday and I hope Port Vale give them a tough time in a BRUISING cup tie:) I will be wanting these results in the Championship. Leicester to beat Boro (reduces Boro's chances of making a late assault on play-offs). Derby to draw at Blackburn (keeps a decent gap for Clarets over Rams and does little for Blackburn play-off hopes). Reading to win at Ipswich (dents Ipswich play-off hopes). To be honest, I'd be quite happy if the top 6 stays intact with just a shuffling of positions. Brighton (39 from 26) and Wigan (36 from 25) are the main dangers but could get embroiled in cup runs and replays.

You'd have hoped for 10 if not 12 points against them. Any less than the 8 points you got would have felt like further steps backwards.

You'd have hoped for 10 if not 12 points against them. Any less than the 8 points you got would have felt like further steps backwards. Eight points from the 4 matches is 2 points a game - assumed to be automatic promotion form by the experts. I agree not the hardest teams but both Huddersfield and the Owls have been playing well. I think Leicester actually lost at Hillsboro this season (we won 2-1) and I'll be impressed if the Foxes manage more than a point at Wigan. Anyway, I am quite confident about the rest of the season with Burnley having the BEST record against their fellow top-six teams although Leicester are a good second just ahead of Forest. The Rams bring up the rear with QPR in 5th place.

Anyway, my prediction for Burnley is 4th/5th - we have a good play-off record Played 8 Won 6 Drawn 1 Lost 1. Two Wembley wins and a semi-final loss against Torquay.

I know what you mean but the stats. are good - sides top at the start of December and the start of January pretty much always get up automatically and after the next win we will be on 60 points with the best GD which is worth an additional point- keep believing

But would you always want to be one point ahead with one game in hand? In a title race, more often than not, having the point and the game in hand is the weaker position. Or two points ahead over a team like Burnley or QPR that have a home game in hand and have won over 50% of their home games? Would anybody feel comfortable having a 3 point lead with two games in hand?Thankfully, Leicester are in a stronger position now than any of the hypothetical scenarios I mentioned, but clearly, there are situations where, in the long run, a game in hand is worth more than a point or two.
