Zingari Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Women drivers.... I know. They can't wait to get themselves stuck on a big hard pole!
Alf Bentley Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 For a minute I thought that you'd had a disturbing experience leaving the King's Head yesterday, Ken, whereby some female beer monster rendered incontrollable through the excess consumption of Old Peculier had yanked your trousers to the floor and narrowly failed to sink her teeth into your knackers.... Thank God (or Darwin) that was not the case! We are all just one sad instant, one erratic act away from just such a horror show. éh?! èh?! êh?!
Rincewind Posted 26 January 2014 Author Posted 26 January 2014 I love the fact Ken has managed to type an e with an accent on top of it in the other thread Yes how is that done?
StanSP Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Yes how is that done? You tell me. You did it. Maybe the Salt Key has an influence!
Rincewind Posted 26 January 2014 Author Posted 26 January 2014 You tell me. You did it. Maybe the Salt Key has an influence! I Don't know though. That is what was annoying me as well as getting stick for posting something that took three or four attempts and my browser slowing up I was rushing before my battery gave up. Then to cap it all I was being told my post was crap. I don't tell others their posts are crap I just don't read them.

The problem is Ken most of the time you don't tell people anything about what the link relates to, so to find out they're forced to click the link. Even your thread titles are generally ambiguous. I can't choose whether I want to read it before I click the link as, sadly, I'm not psychic. What grinds my gears is wasting my time opening webpages that I then find are of no interest or relevance to me. Would it really be so hard to put a brief explanation so people can make an informed decision?

Would it really be so hard to put a brief explanation so people can make an informed decision? No we're not (unless I've been given some special dispensation from mandatory link clicking) How is it easier to read someone else's opinion on a subject easier than just quickly clicking and briefly reading the subject matter for yourself . Surely if someone has that kind of inquisitive mind that can't ignore stuff , it takes the same amount of time to read the original version of what the subject matter is in the link as it does to read a description. My mother in law has this sort of inquisitive, need to know attitude . I can be talking to someone else in a group about something of no interest or concern to her , but she will insist on keep asking me what i'm talking about . When i tell her and she realizes it means nothing to her , she just gives me a look of disdain to indicate that it was boring and of no concern to her and i shouldn't have bothered wasting her time telling her it somehow becomes my fault that the subject matter is boring or uninteresting to her , not that she is just a nosy old soul that doesn't like to miss anything.
Rincewind Posted 27 January 2014 Author Posted 27 January 2014 I think most are aware of my opinions on certain subjects so rather than preach in the first post I would prefer people to make their own minds up without me trying to influence them or else it would turn into a debate without the link being seen. I like to see what others think. I already know my mind. If others posted on subjects that were ignored by the media then maybe I would not bring the topics up so much. Rather than post on here I can send PM's to those interested in the little errors that nice Mr Cameron and his band of merry men make just to show they are not perfect and prone to making miscalculations of judgement like all of us. Maybe they can present the subject better than me. There is one recent story which I am sure the Mail will print once they work out how to present it to their readers. I'll look forward to see how they do it. I normally open the threads I want to then mark as read the rest. I have stopped looking at the thread prior to this one as I made a typo and the comments in it are now of no interest to me so I will not see any remarks that may be made regarding it. It has been deleted as far as I am concerned.

But if it's a subject you have an opinion on with a lefty slant that matches your opinion which let's face is is the reason you are posting it anyway, wont you sort of be 'influencing' people anyway?

I don't see my views as left wing. Even right wingers are capable of caring about the most vulnerable in society. I think I am more centre on most things. Even Labour have gone over to the right. People don't seem to have a problem with the numerous right wing posts.
Guest MattP Posted 27 January 2014 Posted 27 January 2014 Is that the Tory Manifesto Matt? Yes, written by a guy who has mental difficulties but we thought to show we care we'd let him do it, obviously it's complete nonsense and makes no sense, but I'm sure now it's been written by a down and out no hoper at least we can count on your vote.
