dmayne7 Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Never been the biggest fan of Lee Clark but the fact that he not only credits us as a team but also says that he wants us to go up is a pretty nice sentiment from an opposition manager. Says how highly thought of Nigel is. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25821759
sylofox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Honest comments and no bull shite. Makes a change well said Mr Clark. Shame a few more managers can't be like him instead of playing games.
Grewks Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 What do you expect him to say? 'I am a clueless and hopeless manager, who refuses to use his 2 substitutions to try a change a match where my team are losing'. I am so glad we never made him our manager.
Fox92 Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Always liked Lee Clark, and always seemed good friends with Nige. Manager's go up in my book when they are honest.

This was the one thing I highlighted to my friends after the game. He had to try to do something but why he never used them two subs was beyond me.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 I piss myself how when another manager bums our team our fans end up having a love in with them
Bert Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 I always thought Clark was a manager that was reluctant to give praise, lose 3-0 and still say his team was good for a point etc. So fair play to him for that.

We are lucky at Leicester in that we have genuine options on the bench who can change the game. Birmingham are not likely in that position. It would be like the equivalent of us bringing Elvis Hammond off the bench to replace David Nugent if we were losing.

I think the fact that they had to recall a player out on loan to a conference team to play in their starting 11 pretty much shows you the kind of position Birmingham are in
XLM Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Another one singing our praises. Anyone else notice the way he quickly sticks his tongue on the corner of his mouth. He's a deatheater i reckon.

But Clark knows the Championship leaders, who won 2-1 at St Andrew’s on Tuesday, have it all going swimmingly for them on and off the field. Blues’ plans for the future and ambitions in Hong Kong are, by contrast, unknown. “I’m just fighting on,†says Clark. “Tough, because I’d love to be in a position where Leicester are. “What they played would be my ideal type of football. Both with and without the ball, a high pressing game, move the ball one or two touch. “Sometimes you maybe get players who find it difficult to keep the consistency. “And there just seemed a massive fear factor in the first-half. View gallery “To be fair, I did warn them this would be a harder game than Swansea in the FA Cup. “That’s not saying Leicester are better than Swansea. From playing experience, you get a bit of time on the ball against a Premier League team, they don’t start pressing until a certain part of the pitch whereas Leicester, the front two, their work ethic is ridiculous. “Forget what they do with the ball, the front two are phenomenal, the speed that they close you down, everywhere, and then the rest of the team play off them so the midfield back them up. “They have got pace and energy and the desire. That’s the key for me. “Their desire to do what you call the rubbish side of the game is unbelievable. So they end up getting the ball quite a bit, they dominate possession. ‘‘When they haven’t got it, they work unbelievably hard. It’s an example to everybody. “They do it the right way. At least it is a good example to show my group that’s how you become a successful team, that’s how you become a potential team promoted to the Premier League.â€

foxfanazer Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Really nice to read that and completely genuine imo. Shows how good Vardy and Nuge actually are
Richard Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 Clark and Nige were together at Newcastle so there's most likely some mutual respect there
