To be honest I think this whole thread is too much, she is not a celebrity, she has not courted a life in the public eye, she is just some poor schmuck who has been exploited by a TV show for no personal financial gain (she didn't get paid). Now she is a public figure of fun and hate. Yeah she is fat and our taxes are paying for her lifestyle, she also suffers from depression and is being tested to see if she is bi-polar. On the TV show she comes across as a kind, compassionate and caring woman, and a good mother, she also comes across as lazy constantly has a fag in her hand and swears too much... but is she really deserving of this kind of shit? I don't want this to get into another debate about benefits and the people on it, we have another thread for that, I just want to say that this whole thread is just unnecessary.

She isn't the sort of mother I would want for my kids either, and that comment was a joke, yes even people on benefits have a sense of humour. She isn't a role model nor is she a poster girl for the benefits generation, or whatever you want to call it. She agreed to be filmed over a year as they were doing a documentary on that street, she didn't get paid for it, and didn't think it would be a big deal, certainly not that she would be the star of the most talked about TV show of the moment, with her and the rest of them splashed over the newspapers. They approached her, she did not court this, she didn't get paid and she hasn't tried to cash in on this. It just seems a bit pathetic to post cheap snide remarks over someone.

She's not going to win mother of the year, but her daughter seems to have her head screwed on and is going to make something of herself, which seeing as the dad isn't around has got to giver her some credit. Depression isn't an excuse not to work, she hasn't done it because it's so easy not to and still enjoy the benefits of a working lifestyle.
