Hoolahan

Is trying to force his way out of Norwich for the third time this season now the FL loan windows opened. Forest QPR and Reading are supposedly interested.

He's a cracking player in my opinion or certainly was a couple of seasons ago. We're not exactly in need of any more players I don't think but would you have him?

Would you have him purely to stop QPR etc taking him?

I'm not sure if he's Nige's type due to his recent comments about Norwich. Discuss.

Any player that can improve our options is surely worthwhile depending on whether NP deems he is worth it.

But we have been linked with Johnathan Williams from Palace who is similar sort of ilk to Hoolahan.

Says it all for me that he's "trying to force himself out" of Norwich and not for the first time this season. No thanks, we don't need players like that here. He might be a good player but we don't want players that are going to damage morale.

No I agree. That's what I meant by him not being Pearsons type. If Pearson could sort his attitude though. .

Agreed.

First saw him on tv for Blackpool in the play off final against Yeovil, I think it was. Thought at the time he was a crackin' little player.

Villa have left him in limbo, it looked set he was going to join Villa but for some reason Lambert pulled out of the deal. He would certainly be a good addition to our squad and means we've got an extra attacking option in the midfield. Very experienced aswell at this level so i say "lets go get him"

He's very similar option to GTF - and experienced attacking midfielder. Admittedly he scores a few more but still not different enough. I'd rather have the youthful energy and imo extra creativity that Williams brings if given the choice

Hoolahan a couple of seasons ago was much better than GTF IMO. I likened him to a poor mans Messi once his left foot, skill and balance were that good.

Praps a bit harsh as you don't know the full facts.

He was set to go Villa then Lambert pulled out. Would not expect that to have been cos his attitude.

Then he's going to feel shite about staying.

Not like he's a barton or mills is it.

I think it's more Norwich refusing to do business with Lambert / Villa after the acrimony surrounding his exit.

Fair enough + I'd agree. GTF is a better technical player on the ball though and performed well in the premier league with a weaker side in Blackpool. But they both bring creativity and I'd say hoolahan to be the more capable of the two. We don't need both though and it would be better to have a younger player - like Williams - who brings a bit mor energy and would be fine being a sub/occasional starter for fitness and experience than an older player who needs game time at this stage in his career and is clearly frustrated at his current lack of it.
