Dan Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 If we don't go up I'm probably going to hang myself. If we don't manage it this year how are we EVER going to be convinced we'll do anything

Should we fail again this season it will be difficult to retain any faith. We will, but it won't be easy.
Dan Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 We wouldn't have to pay £50+ for tickets and still have weekends away in Brighton, Bournemouth and Blackpool, fine by me. I think in the Premier League we'd hardly ever be paying that. The prices have put me off the whole thing for a while but I get a feeling they won't be £50 every week. It'll still be excessive but I bet £35 will be about the average.

Just get your bank ready for away games. (and this is behind the goal upper)
Dan Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Don't hang yourself... But you are right. Should we fail again this season it will be difficult to retain any faith. We will, but it won't be easy. It would be. We would be the biggest laughing stock in England for a while if we managed to blow it again because this would be on another level to even last year. There are things I will miss about this league but it's about time we saw the Premier League again. I'm not building myself up to thinking that the whole thing will be magical every game (the novelty would die off) but it's about time we had a change.
Corky Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I'd stick with Pearson if we narrowly miss out. Clear progress every season would point to promotion being very likely in the next one. He'd be our best option. I do see what you are saying but two successive collapses from good and then very strong positions would worry me about the capabilities of the squad under pressure.
Dan Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Just get your bank ready for away games. (and this is behind the goal upper) I'd like to hope if we ever got charged anything along those lines we'd all boycott it. I won't pay anything near that. There's no way I'm going Chelsea. £50 for everyone. *****.

I'm not building myself up to thinking that the whole thing will be magical every game (the novelty would die off) but it's about time we had a change. Spot on. Personally, I'm not worried this season (and I hope this don't come back to bite me on the ass) because I look more at how we are playing than the points we have. I said in another thread, I won't be surprised if we lose to Forest. But then, I think we'll beat Ipswich. How we are playing is the crucial thing. We are a confident, strong squad who has it well within them to finish what they started. Dont worry...

But those winnable home games afterwards SHOULD put us back on track, if we lose to Forest.... still, it doesn't stop me thinking that if we lose to Forest we just crash and burn. I Hope not!

This squad wants it more than any other I've seen based on the games I've seen and that's why I think they'll get it. Mixture of quality, determination and good tactics. Look at QPR the other night - they're 11 points off us, do they really look a side capable of getting 12 more points than us this season? It's one thing us slipping up, but the other top sides have got to take advantage of that and I'm not sure they will.

What I'm saying is that I'm not nervy about us losing one or two. I believe (and I think the players believe) that they are good enough to lose a game (or two) but have the minerals to win some as well. I don't buy into Youngy's prediction of us not losing again this season. There's still 16 games left for God's sake! Thats a lot of football. But we have belief, fitness and strength in depth to complete the job. Hows that for being positive! I do believe it though.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 What will happen of we don't go up this season? We will have another crack at it next season of course!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I'm just looking at the evidence. Our path forwards is plain to see. 9th to 6th to 3rd(?). Would ripping it up and starting again be any more likely to be successful in one season? I'm doubtful. Good point HarryNot so sure everyone will share those thoughts though

In terms of if we fall at the final fence again, it will cast doubt over Pearson's ability to finish the job off. I think we'll be ok.
Leicesterpool Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I think if we don't go up Nigel will go and to be honest I don't think he would have to be told! i think he'd walk! and i'm sad to say if we don't go up this year then we'll never go up! it's down to the fact it's now ours to throw away. If we do go up, then we've got quite a few expensive away days. I tell you what though Anfield away will be the one i'm circling!

Repeating the same collapse twice would make me doubt him a bit but I'd still point towards the progress made under him and trust that it would continue for another season in the Championship. Not that I think we need to be worried about any of this, like you I think we'll get over any wobbles and march on towards promotion without too much difficulty.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I tell you what, if we don't go up, I probably won't come on here ever again
Soup Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Just get your bank ready for away games. (and this is behind the goal upper) We ain't no Man united,I heard Hull paid less than £30.
jonthefox Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Nah I quite like the Championship... although I admit though that a break from it would be nice. Thing about the Prem is that unless you’re one of the big teams challenging for a top four spot, then it can all become a bit pointless… Swansea, West Brom etc. They just float around in mid-table for a few years… losing more games than they win… afraid to put a full team out for the FA Cup games… always last to be shown on MoTD… waiting to drop back into the Championship and financial ruin at some point. Don’t ever ask me to organise the promotion party. Me too. Actually part of me thinks it would be more fun to defend a league title than have a relegation scrap.
weller54 Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Worse case scenario... Forest pip us to 2nd place on last day of the season.. We need to beat Doncaster to ensure promotion... They park the bus, nugent misses 88th minute penalty.. We draw 0-0!... Arghhhhhhh!!!!!!!....... Nightmare.. Wake up quickly!!!.....
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 If we don't go up now, I will give up beer! I will start drinking whisky
wight88 Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I will poo on the floor in the F Bar toilets and put crisps on it in protest.
