im 5 hours into Alan Wake 2. I find the game very confusing. I watched a youtube video to remind me of the first game. I did play it when it came out and remember enjoying it.

The first part of the game i enjoyed. Now im not so sure. Not really enjoying the combat. I will persevere with it though as i would like to see how the story unfolds.

Im playing it on the easiest setting. I think now at my age im not bothered about challenge. Just want to see how the story plays out.

If Silent Hill 2 comes available ill defo jump on that. Remember the original as a kid being a game that genuinely scared me.

I'm doing the platinum run on this, keeping an eye out for the collectables in the Powerpyx guide as I go along.

Just done Chapter 1 and think it's great so far.  I did the original back in 2010 on 360 but like yourself looked at a video to refresh on what went on in that one.

Easiest setting for me too, no difficulty trophies to affect platinum on this one.

Will see how it goes but graphically, best thing since H:FW imo.

About 30 hours for me to clear my second area in Yotei

Really enjoying it, used to the combat now so getting into the big fights (bosses and a lot of enemies) is great fun

Currently playing abit of College Football 25 and I bought PGA Tour 2k25 the other day so need to install that and give a go too.

I’ve not long got PGA 2k25, you really have to tweak the difficulty settings to make it anything like difficult to win. When I started I was winning every tournament by a minimum of 5 strokes.

I turned everything off to make it harder no wind assist etc. Don't know if you've tried that?

Alan Wake 2.  This subway section is brilliant.  Headphones, darkness, late night, perfect.

The jump scares really get you lol. Ive finished the Alan Wake Section. Back onto Saga. Not played it for a few days now so need to jump back on it

The whole sequence in the subway was great.  Genuinely was worried for a lot of that section due to running out of batteries often.

Now in Watery and a familiar face has popped up.  The caretaker is multi talented lol

Alan Wake 2 - Finished Saga's storyline right up until the point of no return having done all the collectables on the way (dolls, lunch boxes etc.) .  Easily on target for the platinum, just need to get through Wake's storyline and tie it all up at the end.

Decent game, the storyline has taken various unexpected turns but the atmosphere is great.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Had started it years ago, but didn't finish it.

Great game!

Yup, a brilliant horror game and the DLCs were quality as well. If you haven't played RE8, that follows it on and then I think RE9 coming out early next year is of a similar vein.

Choosing what to play between ARC Raiders and BF6 is a nightmare.

Been having fun with ARC raiders, noting new, just fun and occasionally spicey.

Alan Wake 2 done, platinum in the bag.

A frustrating ending to what was a very clever game at times.  I'm not spending another 20 hours doing it all over again for slightly better closure on the ending though, I'll watch the videos on YT.

Apart from dragging on after the final showdown by the lake, it was well done, the highlights being Saga's amusement park section and the studio scene with Alan.

If there's a 3rd installment, needs to be less than another 13 year wait.

On to the Silent Hill remake...!

Just finished Dragon Age Veilguard. After initially not enjoying it i went back to it and loved it by the end. Debating on another run through to collect the remaing/missed achievements. Solid game 8/10.

Been struggling to get into any video games recently. Downloaded outerworlds 2 but not played it and also an older game called Darkwood but not played that either. Tend to play more tabletop games at the moment like Flames of War and going to try a western theme one called Deadmans hand redux tomorrow.

Depends on the type of game and what console you are on. If your xbox and have an ultimate subscription i would highly recommend Dragon Age Veilguard (see above). Enjoyed the latest Final Fantasy as well. Takes me a lot to get into a game now.

Ignore all that as you wasnt after suggestions.

Yes I enjoy stellaris and Crusader kings. I tend to go through phases with video games....months where I dont touch em then periods where I play a fair bit depending on family commitments and work.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Have plenty of games I have started and never finished or that just require me to sit down with them to get going. But as a family dad with small kids I honestly don't have the hunger anymore and just go for the comfort games.

That said, I want to go back to games like Dune: Spice Wars (RTS with 4X elements) and Against the Storm both of which are games with scenarios that can be finished in one or two sessions.

I tend to find those kind of games find a sweet spot between slower, long form kind of gameplay (which I prefer) but cut up into digestible chunks.
