Mass Effect Legendary (remaster of 1-3) was only £5 on Playstation Store last week and I've a lot of time in my hands right now, so I got it, since I'd played 1 years ago, but never the others.

 

Having reached the end of 1, it's hard to believe this is considered a classic, it hasn't aged well. So many levels in the side missions are essentially rinse and repeat with bases or mines having identical layouts and character dialogue remains the same even after the plot has moved on - stuff that would be unacceptable today...

 

Still, looking forward to 2 in the hope that it addresses some of that being more recent and also the plot will be entirely new to me.

100% agree about ME1. It was decent but very repetitive by the end.

 

ME2 though you are in for an absolute treat. Arguably one of the greatest PS3 games ever. For me the final mission has to be up there as one of the greatest single missions of any game. Don't rush with your choices  

 

Also the story is brilliant. The tangents it takes by the choices you make is incredible. ME3 is also really good to finish the trilogy.

 

I look forward to your verdict after you have finished ME2. Im actually jealous you are playing it for the first time. Would love to relive it

Started ME2 this morning. Imported my ME1 save and decided to try and edit the face to something similar to Shepherd MK1 but with a few battle scars etc. Y know, minor facial reconstruction given how things go.

 

After an hour of play I can't stand the monster I've created that speaks with Shepherd's voice so going to start again with default face

I paid £55 at launch for it - most I've paid for any game ever.

 

The DLC stuff that comes with ME2 and 3 is an absolute blast btw.  Lair of the Shadow Broker is brilliant.

 

Make sure you read up on the order in which you should play the base game and all of the DLC as all DLC is supposed to be played in a certain order to tie into the story elements of the main game.

 

ME2 is one of the best games ever created.  Suicide mission, love it.

 

I ought to go back to it at some point and do a full on renegade run just for a laugh

If you hate chores then dont play Starfield...it's relatively boring and felt I was pushing myself through to complete it!

Started playing Death Stranding 2 and after about 1-2 hours I don't think I am quite in the mood for that kind of game again at the moment haha

Played Warhammer 40K Boltgun as a palate cleanser between all the 100-hour RPGs and open world stuff I'm trying to get through. Very good fun and I say that as someone with no nostalgia for the Doom/Quake era nor any great love for Warhammer. Hades 2 full release today which I'm very excited for.

Looks like I will be cancelling my gamepass subscription renewal and selling my Xbox when it runs out with the new gamepass prices

I've certainly downgraded my pass! They had a great thing offering games day one as its USP for the price point but zero chance for £25 a month will it be worth it now. You don't even know what games they'll offer Day 1, absolute s**tshow from Xbox again! So many are in the same boat as yourself, a proper backfire moment!

I saw yesterday that the actual cancel subscription page crashed because there was so much traffic

 

With how many games I do actually play on Xbox (and how most likely they will be on Playstation at some point anyway) there is just no real point in me getting one

 

If I want to replay older games (which is what I have mainly used my Xbox for like Fable, Gears and Halo) then I might just buy an old 2nd half Xbox and the physical games

How long do we think it will be before this is rolled out in the UK?

 

The concept of Game Pass is something I used to dream about as a kid and something I've felt has been good value for money for a few years. However it seems, especially in the last 24-months, that the price has constantly crept up and with time and opportunity to play (for me) starting to dwindle, I can't justify those prices and I don't think I'd downgrade to the lower packages as I guarantee half the games I'd want to play won't be included.

 

I think it's back to focusing on one game when I get the chance to play and/or replaying older games. Could be a massive backfire for Microsoft this one.

I use game pass I think the £15 was fair, not paying £25 no chance.. like someone else said will probably look for bargains in the store and just focus on one game at a time
