DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 You can tell who the little kiddies are on here. The silly buggers want to sing about everything and everyone. FFS, belt up!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 To the tune of Copacabana.... His name is Riyad, he is a winger In blue he is the best, with a fox upon his chest And he can salsa, past your defenders His shots scream in from far, dipping just under the bar. When he shoots then we are sure, that we're just about to score Plus we have Vardy, Nugent and Phillips Who could ask for more?! (Optional chorus) At the KP King Power Stadium The hottest spot north of the Palladium. At the KP King Power Stadium Football with passion was always in fashion At the KP... we fell in looooooooove!

El Sieffsi Posted 16 March 2014 Author Posted 16 March 2014 Plus he's a syllable short A - mor - e = THREE Za - mor - a = THREE Mah - rez = TWO The idea was to hold the "s" on "that's" so it fits fine. Sadly..I will have to concede that we're stuck with what we've got. Obviously I'll join in as making some noise on matchday and supporting the team is a big part of why I go. But ..repeating most players names just doesn't seem enough to me. People know lyrics to numerous tunes and as I said..people learnt Knockaerts chant..there are other decent efforts in the new chants thread..as well as this thread. I tried to keep it catchy and factual..with a twist on the last verse. Imagine the Liverpool fans reaction..if/when we play them..or any other prem team supporters..If/when we go up. Ah well..it was worth a try. Leicester City...the boys in blue.
fleckneymike Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Knoooockaert to the left of me, Mahrez to the right, Said I'm, stuck in the middle with Wood. Would 'stuck in the middle with Nuuge' not scan better?

Charade's at christmas must be a ****ing nightmare round yours. I think the quality of chants is directly linked to the music scene in the respective town, as there isn't really one in Leicester we struggle for original or catchy ones.
davelcfc100 Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Sweet riyad mahrez, da da da de Ur touch has never looked so good Sweet riyad mahrez da da de
El Sieffsi Posted 16 March 2014 Author Posted 16 March 2014 Would 'stuck in the middle with Nuuge' not scan better? Yes it would and is a damn good effort..We've got plenty of time to get some new chants learnt. I would try and start to get a few chants going mentioned in the new chants thread..as well as this. But I think it needs fans as a group in L..J..SK wherever..to start it. Why wait for an acorn to grow when there are oaks already there.
lgfualol Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Mahrez mahrez yea yea ooooh yea he plays on the wing oh yeeeeeea hes good hes french-algerian but he wants to play internationally for algeria woohooo yeah yeah mahrez he will get goals ooh yeah riyad mahrez is great yeaaah x2

It bloody fits I tell ya..the transition from "that's" to "Mahrez" when sung to the tune..there is an almost inaudible "a" which makes it fit. Or how about "that'sa Mahreeez" as the song has some connection to Napoli I think? You're probably correct about the music..I just think chants should be about the players..not what tune is sung. We have Kasabian I guess..let's not even consider Showaddywaddy!! I think chants don't need current tunes as they seem to fade away faster than chants to tunes from years ago. And YES..I am Lionel Blair when charades is concerned.
JonnyBoy Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Something to the tune of the torres song liverpool fans used to sing
Dan Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Really good effort, but...... ...I sadly agree with this It's annoying because Liverpool and Man Utd are really good at singing "complex" songs. I'm sure most clubs have got one decent length song in their repertoire. Just not us. Ours doesn't stretch any further than that Pigbag shite. I think we sing most of our songs too fast anyway. When the Blues Go Marching In was good yesterday. Spurs were really excellent down here in the cup with that last time they were here. It's also annoying because we can change things. We Love You is a new chant but the whole ground (virtually) gets involved. They must have learnt it from somewhere. There is hope but we squabble on here like a bunch of bitches and can't decide on what's tinpot or not. Cov are possibly my most hated team, but credit where it's due, they're fvcking loud. We Love You had absolutely no interest when no-one else was singing it. As soon as Palace were singing it, we were all over it. In fairness though, I'm pretty sure we were the first team in England to sing 'our boys in blue'. Derby have an absolutely hideous version of that. Something to the tune of the torres song liverpool fans used to sing Got one for Chris Wood.

conLAD logan Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Oh riyad mahrez you are the love of my life, Oh riyad mahrez I'd let you shag my wife, Oh riyad mahrez, I want blonde highlights to!
Alexikokopops Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 And nobody's ever called him "Tony" Knockaert either. The chant's a shithouse on all fronts. I've been calling him Tony since the day he signed
TrentFox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 This thread just serves to remind me how deeply disturbing many of our supporters are and it troubles me greatly that I voluntarily choose to spend my weekends with you all.
MajorDanby Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 To the tune of My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean Our Riyad flys over the pitch, Our Riyad just dribbles sweetly, He sails past all other players, Faster than people can see! Riy-ad, Riy-ad, it's Riyad Mahrez for me for me! Riy-ad, Riy-ad, Riyad's too good for thee for thee!
Vlad the Fox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 'His name is Riyad and his feet are on fire'. To the tune of Rio.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 'His name is Riyad and his feet are on fire'. To the tune of Rio. "And he dances down the wing" surely?

Has sweet fa to do with syllables, it's about the notes it's held for. In the song it's crotchet, crotchet, minim, minim and a half, minim and a half. As it's 3/4 time signature, crotchet is 1 beat, minim 2, minim and a half 3 - so 10 beats: 3 bars and a crotchet. Elongate the S of thats and it buggers up the timing, it would sound horrible, because you turn a crotchet into a minim and force the final part to come in part way through a minim, so instead it'd be three crotchets, two minim and halfs - that would sound very choppy for the way it's supposed to be sung. Elongate Rez to 9 beats though, combined with a small pitch change one beat in to replicate the change to minims and it'd fit very well.
????? Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Nice and simple; He plays in the left, He plays in the riiiigggghhhttt' Riyad mahrez, makes full backs look shite

Vlad the Fox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 "And he dances down the wing" surely? Even better.
