Rather have 22k fans

So two games on the trot I've had free loading student/day trippers next to/behind me. Now I don't like the phrase 'plastic fans' as some people who actually support us are governed by finance.

But to try and fill the stadium with people who really have no interest in football dilutes any atmosphere we have.

Had to endure 90 mins of a load of spotty teenagers today giggling every time one of them shouted a ridiculous comment, and chatting shit all match.

Would rather the club not offer £5/free tickets, at least £15 would put these knobs off.

definitely not going to help with fans on players' backs for the rest of the season. Ultimately it's nerves but it'll transfer to the players eventually, if it hasn't already. Positive attitude needed - we've come this far!

Would rather the club gave discounted tickets to proper fans who have to travel hundreds of miles to travel each match, every time there is an offer it always excludes online too. Annoying people who are not fans can get tickets for £5 and if you have to pay £100+ petrol travelling for a match it costs £35 a ticket

It's not just "Plastic fans" and "day trippers" though, as soon as a player misplaced a pass or didn't do want they wanted some fans were instantly negative.

I'd rather have supportive plastics than negative hardcore fans that get on the players backs, to put it simply, they're not 'supporters'.

What has their appearance got to do with anything? The arrogance of some people on here is unreal. You'd rather the club get less ticket revenue, fewer people buying food and drink, and less footfall for the merch, plus a smaller chance of a handful of the newcomers being hooked on Leicester and becoming a fan for life (which, after such an exciting ending, they could very easily be), all simply because you find some people a bit annoying?

Lad next to me - a STH - watched iPlayer for the last ten minutes...

And what were you doing? Watching him watch iPlayer? He paid to be in the ground during the match, he can do what he wants. If he wants to watch iPlayer then that's his own business, just like it's your own business if you want to scan the crowd looking for people who aren't doing what you think they should be doing.

Totally. And as is common with such people they fooked off before the end because they have no real interest in city,

I've seen people pay £20 and do that.

As said, they've got every reason to be there, I just don't understand why they are.

Then you seem to give less of a shit about the club than they do. You're happy to concede that you don't care how financially beneficial their presence is, you would rather your personal hang-ups about "spotty teenagers" be addressed instead. You were a teenager once, probably as irritating to your elders as these lads were to you, so try not to be so selfish and sanctimonious.

Do you think people who are not interested in football would pay for football tickets to see a game of football?

There's tons of regular fans who come up with the greatest tosh at almost every home game - do they wind you up as well or are you just being picky?

To fair, surely its better to have a 3 quarter filled stadium [which actually should be getting closer to 30,000???] than 10,000 fans who are hard-core, go to every game? These "plastic fan" are still going to cheer, boo, groan and moan, like all the rest. Im a licester City fan, never been to a game in my life, lived in leicestershire most of my upbringing, even stayed in De Mont acom while at college, but i spent my money on theatre etc. If i could offer to go now i would, be it £5 or £35, dont know any songs / chants but id go for a day out / evening, hopefully see my team win.

I don't see how in this modern football age, a few thousand who get in for free or pay £5 are actually financially beneficial to our club, might pay the bloke that sits in the hut at the gate and mumbles 'park on the right hand side' when you visit the shops wages for a couple of weeks, but in the grand scheme of things it's peanuts to the running costs of the club.

I was a teenager once who supported lcfc and had a love and interest of the game as I still do 30 odd years later.

Do you not feel that some random bloke from university gets a discount rather than those who go every week who pays god knows on travel is totally unjust?

And the revenue part is ludicrous as well. Lets say they go to every game that's around £5, lets say 10 although its probably less. Plus maybe a bottle of coke and a pie. Not sure what the prices are but let's say it all adds up to £12. For a season he/she's contributing £120. Lets say that around 100 DMU students go. That's £12,000 AKA probably a player's wage for a week.

To be perfectly honest, I don't really want some kid who has no interest in Leicester turn up and be negative and make snide remarks for what is a fraction of the club's weekly expenditure. They make barely any financial impact at all, especially when you compare it to the £60 million guaranteed if we get promoted.

If you read my post again I didn't call them plastic, and I was stating it was people who have no interest in city, unlike yourself!!

Well "a few thousand" multipled by £5 is greater than zero. Literally don't know what argument you can have against that. And like I said, games like tonight can get somebody hooked for life, more inclined to buy merch and go to subsequent games.

Wasn't hard to notice when he was sat next to me with the volume on full and I appreciate he can do what he wants but surely that was a time that the whole crowd should have been getting behind the lads

We had cheap tickets supplied through my son's football club as he was a flag waver today .... He's been plenty of times before but as it was a special day for him he was literally shaking with excitement. The club reaches out to new fans in many ways .... Cheap tickets being one of them, and I for one applaud their efforts.

Absolutely shocking atmosphere tonight.Heaven forbid anyone relocating to SK1 to do anything about it.Let's sit on our arse and analyze the midfield. Can't wait for next season.

Yes.

Seconded.

Example one.....One girl sat next to me had no clue about any of the players, had to be reminded who our manager was and moaned about the Vardy song having Charlie in the lyrics ("You can't say that, that one of the players takes cocaine that's just not funny!")

Example two.... three lads behind me who just chatted about nothing game/match related and played slappy bird or something on their phones for most of the game. They were with a guy sitting two rows in front and kept chucking sweets at his head. I mean, FFS, why are you here?

I have to go to games only when I can thanks to work but tw@ts like that make me want to put up with the Radio Leicester babble rather than support my team.

To be fair there was some right moaning bell ends at the game today who cared more about what the Manchester derby score was than the game. Constantly standing up taking photos, in and of the seats all game like they had he shits or somehing. Pissed me right off.
