suffolk fox Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Got to laugh? I just love it when a lot of you lot know what a plastic fan is? People pay their money can do what they want in supporting the team. If after 80 minutes they decide to leave it is entirely up to them. Let's be honest it was a huge anti climax last night. The team played bloody awful and to lose 4 1 at home is embarrasing. The overkill at the end of the game with 100's of riot police around the pitch was also embarrasing and for this the club are culpable. Whoever was responsible for that should hang their heads in shame. Made us look like Millwall and the worst case football hooliganism outfit. If that is what is going to happen cos we are now in the premier league well you can stick it.
blueharmie Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I left at 3-0. Work at 6. Great season. But I'm not watching that crap performance yesterday.
Dickov22 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I left on about 70 minutes (it was 0-3 at the time) I didn't boo or jeer, but I simply didn't think it was worth my time watching such a terrible performance. I don't see why you should have to sit through the whole game to be a real fan... better that than sit there moaning and cursing till the end surely. People like you just don't get it. Never will.
blueharmie Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 People like you just don't get it. Never will. I agree with the original post. I think it's you who doesn't get it.
Dickov22 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I agree with the original post. I think it's you who doesn't get it. Of course I do. I've not idea why supporters of the same club are getting their knickers in a twist and arguing over who the better fans are. However, this poster suggesting he left on 70 minutes 'because the football was rubbish'. Is that really what being a fan is about? Not for me.
Leicester_Numan Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Exactly. You don't have to justify yourselves, you know if your a fan or not, no ones cares how many times you turn up in a season. It's about being a proper fan when you do turn up. No booing, jeering, moaning, walking out or phoning radio leicester and embarrassing yourself with stupid negative remarks about one of the best city teams I've seen in my lifetime. This

If I have work at 6 and its shite I will go home when I like.
Dickov22 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Wasn't rubbish is was shite. If I have work at 6 and its shite I will go home when I like.Of course you can. But an attitude like that shows you don't really get it. That's fine though. I'm not getting my knickers in a twist about fans who leave a game early. I just think they're saddos really.I bet you missed the Chris Wood/Kasper goal too because you left early
5waller5 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I hate people leaving early at full or half time for no other reason than it's bloody annoying having to let them past and spoils my view of the game. It's a 90 minute game .... Why attend if you can't stay for 90 minutes?
prbeck123 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I have to be honest, I think I count as one of those 'Plastics'. I have only been to see City twice this year, partly because I live 180 miles away and partly because I work away. We were sat in SK2, and up until the first goal went in those 'regulars/STH' were the ones who started on the players, it was those fans again who got unpleasant when the second went in, it was those again who started talking about going if another went in and true to their word they started leaving in numbers. Not in as many numbers as other parts of the ground I hasten to add. But lets just hope that the players involved last night are still buzzing from gaining promotion and not thinking about watching the fans walking out when things got tough. Can you imagine how let down they feel by the behaviour? What Pearson and the squad have done this season is remarkable and in my humble opinion have given you 'real fans' a great season that will undoubtedly be spoken about in the same breath as the MON era... So I ask you a question, did they not earn the right to your support last night?. Everyone is quick to shout about Leicester till I die, more like Leicester till we lose then I throw my toys out of the pram and leave.. The sad thing is I got chatting to a mini bus of Brighton fans at Toddington services who said they were shocked at the response of the fans when we went behind and astonished when everyone started running for the exits after 70 minutes.. Embarrassing was the phrase they used and I couldn't agree more.. Have to agree with other posts on here, you don't need to be a STH to be a real fan, I have been to over 600 games in the last 35 years, I was there when we lost to Harlow, Wycombe and Burton Albion. Have seen real dark days under Milne, Hamilton and Pleat but not once did I own a ST..... Worry about how you support your club, not how others do and if that means that new and returning fans turn up uninvited by the STH mafia and you find it unacceptable go and support Forest they need supporters like you....

Fox92 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Terrible wasn't it. I expected a difficult game but I didn't expect that.... Many players didn't look up for it, and there were many poor individual performances, but even worse, a poor team performance. But take nothing away from Brighton, they were superb. Strong, quick and in our faces. Easily the best team I've seen us play against this season... Kind of reminded me of the time we went to West Brom during our relegation season and won 4-1.
leicesterlad1989 Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I left the KP tonight so angry, especially because the club in their wisdom put the plastic fans in a block right next to L1.. One bloke even moaned to the copper telling him to tell us to sit down cuz he cant see! f**king cheek of it, comes for one game and moans about us that are here every week.. I hope the club do not do this again. Funnily enough they all left when the 4th went in, to a lot of hate and anger towards them and quite rightly so.. We do not need these plastic fans, their views and opinions mean nothing.. stay at home Don't tarnish everyone who sat there as "plastic." I was a season ticket holder for 5 years in L1 up until the beginning of this season. I've been to all but 3 or 4 home games this season but wasn't sure I could make it until late in the day yesterday due to work, hence sitting next to L1. I knew from the start we would get abuse or "banter" as im sure most call it. I'll be honest, as much as the game was awful, i've never been made so uncomfortable by my own fans before. Most fans in the "plastic" section tried to stand and sing but there was a mixture of all types of people there and I had the bad luck of being infront of an old couple and next to two girls who spent the whole game talking shit. I agree with the OP with regards to the "glory hunting twats." I felt exactly the same at around 2pm yesterday when I thought I couldn't get a ticket. I took what ticket I could get hold of. Unfortunately I sat where I did but it still doesn't mean our own fans give other fans shit. Maybe encouragement instead? Either way, like it or not, next season will be full of these "plastics" and when times get tough perhaps we may need the extra support.
Babylon Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Of course I do. I've not idea why supporters of the same club are getting their knickers in a twist and arguing over who the better fans are. However, this poster suggesting he left on 70 minutes 'because the football was rubbish'. Is that really what being a fan is about? Not for me. Depends what they are fans of, winning football or Leicester City. Considering we manage to add another 8000 when doing well I'd say there are a lot who are fans of winning and not Leicester. You know what, I felt like leaving last night. I wasn't in the mood and knew what was to come before the game even started. But I wanted to stay to the end to show my support to probably the best second tier team we've ever had, to show them that despite the result I still appreciate what they have done and are doing. I'm not usually one to moan about people leaving early, but considering the circumstances last night it was annoying. But, sod them it spurred on everyone else to show their support and from the 4th goal onwards the atmosphere was electric and they all missed the best part of the game and probably the best atmosphere all year.
Buce Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 In reply to the above. What do the players think when everyone walks out? They've just won us promotion dude, have some respect. Frankly, I would hang my head in shame if I was one of them. We collectively paid over a million pounds in gate receipts to watch that miseable performance; now, that is lack of respect.

I think you got a point there, although West Brom hadn't been already promoted before that game. We played the eventual Championship winners that day and won 4-1, but that's where the similarities end.

How about you show a bit more respect for the fact that we've just won promotion to the Premier League? Where was your respect during the 21-game unbeaten run? Seems to me you're one of those dwelling in negativity when things are going the wrong way, but hardly to never pop up when we're doing well.

You see I think this is the problem, you are EXPECTING good performances, football isn't like that I'm afraid. Man City have single players who cost more than our ground and a squad that probably cost more than the GDP of a small country, yet they still put shit performances sometimes and can't even beat Wigan. Not even sure how you can equate a poor performance to a lack of respect.
Dan Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I've tried to refrain from using the phrase 'plastic fan' as I do think a lot tend to have genuine reasons - but I'm sorry, they really were out in force last night. It was an utter embarrassment.

Not even sure how you can equate a poor performance to a lack of respect. It's hardly expecting a good performance. If we had lost 1 or 2 nil but put up a fight then there's nothing wrong in that. We are at home, promoted and meant to be "party" atmosphere and the players didn't seem up for it. Promoted or not, we as fans do EXPECT a little more effort. I just think the timing of the result was bad that's all. Personally speaking I am a little gutted due to the fact we gained promotion when we didn't play and would have been nice to have capped it off with a win and a party last night to celebrate.
jamfox Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 The people whom left early siting next to me were all regulars ,Id bet my house that some who come every week are the most negative moaning ones out there. this thread is not that far away from my granddad is harder than your granddad! I get to about 7 games every season and have done every year for ten years. I live in South Yorkshire and I have to work away and at weekends some times. Iv watched us get out played by Brighton twice this season but I stayed and sang at the end because of the season achievement. So am I "plastic"? I'm confused! well actually if it makes you feel like you have a massive cock and your can look down from behind your giant bell end at me then I really could not give a fu*k.
Dan Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I agree with most of you! But to be fair I had a "plastic family" stood next to me, and their kids were fine and although they were right at the top of the Kop standing up, they didn't moan. All 4 of them stood and clapped at the final whistle and chanted, so fair play to them. They aren't plastics in the slightest. Plastic Righteous Indignant Crass knobby Supporters - PRICKS for short. I like it.

How do you know what effort is being put in, how exactly do you judge that? We've been playing shit since Blackburn away and lived off some spectacular goals. Anyone actually watching games would know we have been struggling for form of late. This isn't just a one off performance, but having an opposition take almost every chance and unpick us at three set pieces is.
