How about you show a bit more respect for the fact that we've just won promotion to the Premier League? Where was your respect during the 21-game unbeaten run?

Seems to me you're one of those dwelling in negativity when things are going the wrong way, but hardly to never pop up when we're doing well.

I've showed my respect weekly, by handing over my hard-earned money and shouting myself hoarse; I have supported them unflinchingly all season - indeed every season for the last 45 years.

To put in a hungover performance like that was unprofessional and disrespectful to the fans.

You see I think this is the problem, you are EXPECTING good performances, football isn't like that I'm afraid. Man City have single players who cost more than our ground and a squad that probably cost more than the GDP of a small country, yet they still put shit performances sometimes and can't even beat Wigan.

Not even sure how you can equate a poor performance to a lack of respect.

Reiterating my point- these fans don't get it. They expect us to play teams off the park every game, and if we have an off day 'I will leave on 70 mins, I have to be up at 6 blah blah blah'. Clueless.

Seeing as you have been going for so long, I am sure you will have witnessed the other games of late where we have also played rather badly... were they disrespectful also? Or were they ok because we managed to scrape by.

I have to be honest, I think I count as one of those 'Plastics'.

I have only been to see City twice this year, partly because I live 180 miles away and partly because I work away.

We were sat in SK2, and up until the first goal went in those 'regulars/STH' were the ones who started on the players, it was those fans again who got unpleasant when the second went in, it was those again who started talking about going if another went in and true to their word they started leaving in numbers. Not in as many numbers as other parts of the ground I hasten to add.

But lets just hope that the players involved last night are still buzzing from gaining promotion and not thinking about watching the fans walking out when things got tough.

Can you imagine how let down they feel by the behaviour?

What Pearson and the squad have done this season is remarkable and in my humble opinion have given you 'real fans' a great season that will undoubtedly be spoken about in the same breath as the MON era... So I ask you a question, did they not earn the right to your support last night?. Everyone is quick to shout about Leicester till I die, more like Leicester till we lose then I throw my toys out of the pram and leave..

The sad thing is I got chatting to a mini bus of Brighton fans at Toddington services who said they were shocked at the response of the fans when we went behind and astonished when everyone started running for the exits after 70 minutes.. Embarrassing was the phrase they used and I couldn't agree more..

Have to agree with other posts on here, you don't need to be a STH to be a real fan, I have been to over 600 games in the last 35 years, I was there when we lost to Harlow, Wycombe and Burton Albion. Have seen real dark days under Milne, Hamilton and Pleat but not once did I own a ST.....

Worry about how you support your club, not how others do and if that means that new and returning fans turn up uninvited by the STH mafia and you find it unacceptable go and support Forest they need supporters like you....

The fact you consider yourself a plastic is proof that the phrase has been chucked around by some in incorrect circumstances. You have genuine reason for your lack of attendance by the sound of things and you should therefore not in the slightest consider yourself one.

They're spot on. If you had gone away somewhere, stunned the home crowd with a 1-4 win for their first loss in 21 matches (TWENTY-ONE) in the game they'd got promotion, you would be amazed to see a reaction like ours last night.

I'm sorry but collectively we have one of the most abysmal home 'supports' in England.

I have no problem with poor performances - hell, I've seen more than my fair share; I have a problem with a poor performance because of a weekend of alcohol abuse.

I think that's disrespectful to the people who pay their wages, many of whom spend all their disposable income following City.

I've tried to refrain from using the phrase 'plastic fan' as I do think a lot tend to have genuine reasons - but I'm sorry, they really were out in force last night. It was an utter embarrassment.

you lot are the embarrassment, I travelled over 380 miles last night to come and see Leicester. So how was my attendance last night an embarrassment?. I would suggest the embarrassment was caused by the STH/regulars abusing the players after we went 1.0 down, 2.0 down and then the exodus started at 3.0... It was the season ticket holders and regulars around where we were sitting who got up and walked out on mass, it was them that caused the embarrassment, it was them that showed disrespect to the players that had given them premiership football for the first time in 10 years by walking out....

Blackburn away- pretty poor stuff

Burnley- played well against a depleted side. Great result and a really gritty performance

Wigan away- poor performance- lacked pace and movement particularly upfront. Lucky to get a point. They battered us but our never say die spirit got us through

Sheff Weds- some good spells and better than Wigan but still not great. Sheff Weds probably deserved a point

So, agree with Babylon we are off form. Missing Vardy hugely, and I don't think the chopping and changing has helped. However, we are up and this season has been the best I can ever remember. Last night wasn't really a surprise in that we lost and didn't play well- what did we expect if players are off their faces until the early hours of Sunday (I've no problem with that btw). We then played a useless 40 year old up front, a centre half at right back, Drinkwater and Nugent who looked dead on their feet, and also a very good side.

Reading away will be different if we have a full strength team to choose.

Then where was your praise on here during that great run?

You're putting a lot more effort in slating a team (that indeed didn't turn up - for once or the first time in 22 games) than you're showing your praise when we were on that terrific unbeaten run.

Quick to moan, idle to jubilate.

How do you know what effort is being put in, how exactly do you judge that?

We've been playing shit since Blackburn away and lived off some spectacular goals. Anyone actually watching games would know we have been struggling for form of late. This isn't just a one off performance, but having an opposition take almost every chance and unpick us at three set pieces is.

I judge it based on what I watched. I am not quite sure how else you can judge it? The body language of certain players looked disinterested at times. We certainly didn't perform like a team chasing the title.

I have been watching and attending the games as of late so I will agree with the fact we have been struggling with form but I just don't understand why, just because we are promoted we cannot critisise one performance? I am proud of this Leicester team and the members of staff but it doesn't mean they are not allowed to be critisised. Some of the defending last night was utter crap.

Are you making assumptions about who was and wasn't drinking and how much they consumed? The only person I know for sure got pissed was Moore as he admitted on Twitter.

Drinkwater has been awful for weeks, drinky or no drinky.

There is moaning about a performance and there is saying they lacked respect in their performance. Their effort seem barely any different to any other game of late to, we were shit, they took advantage.

I pick and choose matches through the season because I can't afford to go to all of them. I don't understand why so many would want to go last night after promotion was confirmed. Yes there was still the top spot to play for but the main aim of the season had already been achieved but I am glad I saw the victories over teams like Millwall and Barnsley and missed last night.

Well the magic of football is varying opinions. I stand by what I said and do believe they lacked something last night. Perhaps it wasn't effort but it was a certain spark that wasn't there. Even during our recent performances where he have grinded out results, we have always looked threatening. As for lacking respect...mehh! Not got an opinion on it.

I'm on my phone, so I can't access my post history, but I cannot remember a single negative post I've made all season. I'm not a serial moaner.

No, read the thread properly, no one is saying that

What about the STH who are ''proper fans'' who turn up late, go down early for a pint then leave early (I see plenty) are they plastic too?

Posted

Exactly. You don't have to justify yourselves, you know if your a fan or not, no ones cares how many times you turn up in a season.

It's about being a proper fan when you do turn up. No booing, jeering, moaning, walking out or phoning radio leicester and embarrassing yourself with stupid negative remarks about one of the best city teams I've seen in my lifetime.

This is it entirely!

I have been to about 8 games this season, ive never boo'd and ive stayed until the final whistle for every game, at the start of the season their was space to my left of about 4 seats, this was full against Bpool and Brighton with different people, the ones who were there last night looked devastated all game, and walked out after the 4th goal, i don't think they really understood the context of it being the first game at home since we had won promotion.

If this result had seen us drop out of the top 2, i'd understand people walking out, but come on! this game was the epitome of "promotion hangover".

Credit to the others in SK1 trying to get the wave going, shame about the killjoys in the east stand.

They're the fans I dislike most .... I've changed seats before to avoid the bloke that turns up 10 ins inn and has to get passed whilst half pissed so takes ages ..... leaves for a pee at 20 mins ..... come back at 30 mins and then leaves at 40 mins .... drives me bloody insane letting the knob in and out of his seat and having the game disturbed by him and his mates who all seem to stagger their times so it's even worse.

The thing is they are the type of fans who think they are super fans

I am all for getting garried before a game, but they are the type of fans who will of turned on our fans last night. Where in fact they miss about 20 mins of the games all season faffing with beer, going for a piss and pie's. its not a cinema

I was surprised that so many people left. I can absolutely understand the frustration, I was fuming when the 4th went in, but I'd never consider getting up and leaving.

Ultimately though, I couldn't give a crap if people leave early or not, it's their loss. What annoys me is the moaners. At the Charlton match, when we were incredible, there were some people around me still moaning very vocally. I've got no time for people like that, they are negative and can't enjoy enjoyable moments in life when they arise. I get really frustrated at matches at times, but you just have to keep it to yourself and support the team.

I left early, I didn't boo, I didn't jeer, I left early mostly because my dad did and I go with my dad but also because that performance was disgusting and completely unacceptable - I went to the Boro game last season, that's what separates the plastic from the actual.

Phew, I went to the abandoned Southampton game in 1983 when Stevie Lynex did his swim on the pitch, I am also separating myself from those fans who never went to that game, born or not, I am not having any excuses for not being there that day.

My first game was in 1979, been a supporter ever since, but by no means have I attended every game since, it's easy when your young attending matches, but then come responsibilities, work, marriage, mortgage, kids, all things that take away your footie money. Does not stop Leicester being my team though, born in Leicester and Leicester are my team.

For those young fans now, calling other fans plastic, wait till you have the responsibilities of adulthood, and see how difficult it is then to attend every game.

Plastic is just a new term for glory boy, the people born in Leicester who support Chelsea, Man Utd etc who now are gracing us with their presence at the KP, when I was at school it used to be Liverpool or Man Utd in the playground, but most kids grow out of supporting other clubs during their teens. There is nothing more annoying or sad than a grown man born in Leicester, walking around in a Chelsea or Utd shirt with no connection to that team at all, they are the plastic glory boys.

Typical questions to ask these people-

Q. Why do you support Chelsea? A. Cos, they are good.

Q. You ever been? A. No, I have never been.

All this I am a better supporter than you nonsense between City fans is ridiculous. If Leicester are your team, that's what matters, support them at the ground, down the pub, on the radio, wherever you are.

Remember though wherever you are to 'out' the Man Utd , Arsenal, Chelsea fan who suddenly now supports Leicester.

Cinema... strange comparison. I'd find someone doing all of that at the cinema more odd than someone at a football match. Considering their aren't tv screens showing the film exactly where you buy your food, miss 5 minutes of a film and you won't have a clue what's going on, football you can join in at any time.

Not fussed about people getting up and down so long as they actually think of others and try and time it so that it's in a break of play and have manners.

My point being - people treat it like a cinema.. the constant need for refreshemnt over a 90 minute period is astonishing, especially given the crappy beer and over priced crap they sell..

People don't think of others though thats the point. I don't see the point in paying for a match then missing 25% of it doing other things

Good post, but I have 1 gripe, dark days under Gordon Milne? Really? Promotion, top flight football for a few seasons, Lynex, Lineker, A. Smith banging the goals in. Some of my best times ever under Milne. Happy days for me.

I think what you're describing are people who see themselves entitled to entertainment when they pay for a match ticket - and then go into a stadium with the same preconceived ideas than when they enter a movie theatre.

What they don't take into account is that football players can have an off-day and perform unexpectedly - unlike actors or animated characters, who behave just the way they were intended to.

The resulting surprise and reaction from some of these "fans" is what I find somewhat fascinating.

It's as if they don't get the dynamics in football at all.
