AndWhat? Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 No coincidence that when all of SK1 was standing it sang. And I guarantee everyone who stood and sang who normally don't left the ground bumming them selves. If only they could realise that it's up to them to make it happen every game! Also, we NEED to get all the kop standers together, there must be about 2000 standing along the back 6 rows. If we got all of them in one block the kop would be immense.

I agree, first half not enough were standing (the 3 mates I went with stayed glued to their seats) second half I decided to stand even though they weren't and by that last 10 minutes even they got up and stood with me aswell (it was a shame it took that 4th goal to wake us all up from our slumber)Generally terrible atmosphere before that final 10 minutes (even before Brighton scored their first etc)
C-man Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I can understand how people get wound up about people who clearly hadn't been all season and then spent the majority of last night criticising the team and then walking out petulantly at 80 mins. It is irritating for those who have stuck with their team through thick and thin to have people throw their toys out the pram at the thinnest of thin slithers in 12 months. I did, however, find the constant stream of 'where were you when we were sh|t?' and then the vicious round of 'cheerio' when people got up to leave fairly uncomfortable. To be clear I have never left a game early and never will, but there was nothing to guarantee that those leaving weren't season ticket holders too. Four or five chaps near me who've been there since the stadium opened snuck out at 3-0(!) and didn't get anywhere near the same pasting as those that fvcked off a few minutes later. Yes it galvanised those that stayed and led to perhaps the best ten minutes of atmosphere all season but why does it take that to happen for the 80% of Kop-sitters to make any noise whatsoever? I made the point about people leaving early after the Sheffield Wednesday game. It stunned me how few people stayed to clap the team off in a game that effectively sealed our promotion. The fact is people just like leaving early and that's their prerogative. Sitting there in complete silence despite the best efforts of a number of people towards the back who are trying their best to get them involved is just as bad. Poisonous atmosphere last night and if that's what it's going to be like next season then the Premier League can fvck off already.
Ross-Kemp Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Sat in SK1 last night. The performance was atrocious from the players, but you want to know something ? I don't care. The day trippers were out in force and probably will be all next season, but you want to know something ? I don't care. People leaving at 3-0 and then 4-0, but you want to know something ? I don't care. Last night wasn't about the result, it wasn't about the day trippers and it wasn't about people leaving for whatever reasons. It was about saying thank you and enjoying the night, it's been a long 10 years. Yes it would have been nice to win, but we're going to turn out a performance like that now and again. It doesn't matter, WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE ! Hats off to the lads in SK1 tonight, it was non-stop throughout the game, even if it only was about 30 of us at times. The last 10 minutes were spine tingling, if we could replicate that atmosphere week in week out, we would have one of the best atmospheres in the world. We proved last night we can do it, let's push on eh ? NUMBER 1, IS BARRY HAYLES...

It took me personally until the second half to wake up a and then I stood with the 30/40 or so and started singing more than I had done first half (whilst sat down ) Then the atmosphere just took of and was quite frankly brilliant for the last 10 minutes or so

The trend of our games where the ground has been full this season has been bleak. Lost all three times (our only home losses as well) and the atmosphere's been shite every time. We're gonna be the laughing stock of the league if something doesn't drastically change.
sussexmark Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 hi i am a brighton fan and i was there last night and i thought ur fans were poor and the only time you really start to make any noise was like 5 minutes to go and before the game that was it and i thought our fans were superb and good luck for the rest of season and please beat reading for us and good luck next season
TJB-fox Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 is that N block? no pal that was right in front of me in SK3. For a little lad, he was making a lot of noise. This video doesn't do us justice I think, most of the kop was rocking at the end

TJB-fox Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I could well be mistaken but im pretty sure the lad was filming it on his blackberry throughout the 2nd half...

Munshi Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 That video up there was N block. Can I just add that the last ten minutes wasn't only the Kop singing, us in L1 were trying to listen out so we can carry it on and get the whole ground singing. Fairplay to us all that last 10 but it should be like that for the full 90 tbh.

theessexfox Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 Last 10 minutes or so were quality, never seen such celebrations celebrating a goal to make it 4-1 haha. Co-incidence or not that the rise in atmosphere coincided with half the people leaving? always seems to be better with a smaller number of people for some reason. Agreed, think everyone tried to celebrate as they would a winning goal

But I was in sk1, MM40 stood with my family and we sang all through the match. I, like you, were there to celebrate our season, and one poor performance doesn't tarnish that in the slightest for me. Some 'day trip' fans aren't too bad you know ;-)
Jakemoore Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 People moaning about 'day trip' fans can p**s off! I've got more pashun in my left testicle than about 85% of ST holders. Unfortunately I love in London.
