Le Renard Napoléonien Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 And now Delort's wiki page says that he's signed for us despite Southampton's interest. We're going to wait for weeks and he's suddenly and unexpectedly going to sign for Shanghai Shenhua out of left-field
Robin JD Popley Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 I've just seen that too. We all know Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source at times but whoever edited Upson's page first leaked it on Wikipedia he'd joined us. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Delort
Le Renard Napoléonien Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 I just don't see why Soton would go for him now. They have Pelle, who is the archetypal 'big man' - 6'3", strong, good in the air - and if they're going to continue to play with three up front under Koeman, they'll have Rodriguez on the left of him and probably Gaston Ramirez down the right. Let's not forget they still have Osvaldo for the moment, and Sam Gallagher was getting games at the end of last season. Delort would not force any of those players out of the squad except for Gallagher. Us, on the other hand - I like Chris Wood but he'll need to prove his potential really early this season. I don't particularly like the stick he gets for last campaign - injured temporarily and then kept out by an on-form strike duo, and he carried the win at Burnley when he came on. If he does flake out again, Delort is a smart alternative. Not so big but definitely strong and with a bit more pace and intelligence about him. The video above just makes him look like he has that Mueller-esque level of intelligence required to be in the right place and make the right runs, all with the skill to put it away afterwards. He's a very Pearson-y signing at 22 an relatively unknown. If we're one of the two teams he mentioned and the other is Southampton, I don't see why he wouldn't pick a potential starting spot at a hungry young club. If the other is in the Bundesliga...we may be slightly more boned
Robin JD Popley Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Now it's claiming he has signed for someone else haha... a Peruvian club... oh wikipedia. For once, I genuinely hope the Express were right about something. Leonardo Ulloa, Andy Delort, David Nugent and Jamie Vardy = Formidable!
Le Renard Napoléonien Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Hahaha, 'Deportivo Wanka', also known as 'Los Wankeros' In 2006, it emerged that Deportivo Wanka strips had become a cult collectible item for British football fans, with over 1,000 strips selling in the space of a few weeks.[3] The British slang wordwilly puller "one who masturbates", sounds like Wanka when said with a (non-rhotic) British accent. The Sun quoted a club spokesman as saying that "It is very strange. Everyone in Britain seems to think we have a funny name.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Are people actually using Wikipedia edits as a borometer to measure how legit a transfer rumour is now?
mozartfox Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 'Los Wankeros' - aren't they the feeder Club of Florist?
Robin JD Popley Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Delort said: "It's a real honour to sign for such a prestigious club, and I look forward to the fiery derbies with Melboro and linking up with Roy Race - I'm sure that together we can create a formidable partnership and terrorize defences, even if he is pushing 60."
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Andy Delort (born October 9, 1991 in Sète, Hérault) is a French professional football player. Currently, he plays for Melchester Rovers. On 31 January 2012, he signed a 6 months loan deal with Ligue 2 club Metz.[1] In July 2014, it was confirmed that he had signed for fictional side Melchester Rovers, despite interest fromSouthampton F.C, Leicester City F.C and Deportivo Wanka. Delort said: "It's a real honour to sign for such a prestigious club, and I look forward to the fiery derbies with Melboro and linking up withRoy Race - I'm sure that together we can create a formidable partnership and terrorize defences, even if he is pushing 60."
indierich06 Posted 18 July 2014 Author Posted 18 July 2014 Yeah, that one was me - it was a toss up between them and Harchester United. Wonder how long it'll stay up there for?
KFS Posted 18 July 2014 Posted 18 July 2014 Keep adding interested clubs until it's the whole fvcking page
CosbehFox Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 One of the clubs in for Delort is Atletico Madrid who will loan him to Elche for the season.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 Can't we just buy him? Looks a proper arrogant nutter.
Finnegan Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 It's time for our twitter kids to get their act together for another Mahrez repeat.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 I've asked him, was gonna go for pure comedy but thought he might take it the wrong way - obviously I value my influence far too highly here.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 Samuel Loveday @sploveday 2m @AndyDelort9 s'il vous plaît signer pour Leicester City, Andy. basic
CosbehFox Posted 19 July 2014 Posted 19 July 2014 Sorry to inform you guys but a bit of digging tells me Feyenoord are the other club who are in talks. That's the two 'foreign' clubs.
