Babylon Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 They've only paid a million quid? Have I missed a trick here or what? Yes it's called getting over excited about fancy names in foreign leagues.
Finnegan Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Yes it's called getting over excited about fancy names in foreign leagues. You have no real imagination do you? Do you get excited by anything?
Babylon Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 You have no real imagination do you? Do you get excited by anything? I like to play in the real world where I get excited about things I know, sign someone I've seen play and like and I'll get excited. Sign someone from a foreign league and they play well for us and I'll get excited.... get excited just because someone is from a foreign league or has a fancy name, no.
jock2612 Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Looks like Delort going to Charlton for 2.4M according to SSN!
Babylon Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Looks like Delort going to Charlton for 2.4M according to SSN! FFP working brilliantly eh.
mozartfox Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 'If' - we do actually want this player, it beggars belief how we can lose him to Charlton of all Clubs. Can only assume we are NOT interested is signing him, plus the reported fee wanted was in excess of 2.4 euros or UKP, so may be this story is not accurate?

If we wanted him we'd buy him... seems like his agent has been a busy boy over the summer.
Ric Flair Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 I suspect we've decided not to sign him, money is obviously little issue to us hence paying top whack for Ulloa and offering £7.5 million for Deeney. It is very perculiar how Delort has gone from being in talks to sign with Rennes, Lens, us and Atletico Madrid to now settling for Charlton, Leeds or Brentford. I think his agent might have had a lot to do with the earlier links with bigger clubs.
mozartfox Posted 5 August 2014 Posted 5 August 2014 Charlton forum claiming Delort is now a done deal to be officially announced tomorrow. Presumably Toursdropped their price?
mozartfox Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Looks like the Delort deal has hit a snag. Apparently Tours want another 1m Euros on top of 2m offered by Charlton. We cannot be interested for sure? Very funny reading their Forum, its a bit like the Troy Deeney thread on here, accept more references to Twitter. Some even fell for the old Wiki' stunt.

Could be back in for him, with Wood going ?
Babylon Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Could be back in for him, with Wood going ?If the only club in for him is Charlton... Perhaps he ain't the greatest.
Brainy Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Brentford were linked with him this morning for over £3m in a paper I cant remember
bald reynard Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 If the only club in for him is Charlton... Perhaps he ain't the greatest. Yes, but we are only talking back-up for Ulloa, Nugent and Vardy though aren't we ? He's only 22, could be a good Sub for a season or two before becoming a regular. 3m Euros (£2.5m) wouldn't be bad price for that.

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 From the other clubs that are interested in him, it seems unlikely that he is the required standard for Prem football.
indierich06 Posted 13 August 2014 Author Posted 13 August 2014 Diafra Sakho having a medical with West Ham apparently, although they've attempted to change the deal from a permanent transfer to a loan with potential for full transfer. Nige - bin off Deeney and swoop in!

Nige - bin off Deeney and swoop in! Scored 4 fewer goals than Andy Delort last year, clearly should get Delort instead
Master Fox Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Where the fvck did Charlton find 2.4 million from?
Babylon Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Diafra Sakho having a medical with West Ham apparently, although they've attempted to change the deal from a permanent transfer to a loan with potential for full transfer. I watched a couple of his games last year (obviously not a lot to get info from) but he was shocking in both of them.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 I watched a couple of his games last year (obviously not a lot to get info from) but he was shocking in both of them. Fat Sam isn't fussed as long as they are with certain agents - funny that!
ATLFox Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 Diafra Sakho having a medical with West Ham apparently, although they've attempted to change the deal from a permanent transfer to a loan with potential for full transfer. Nige - bin off Deeney and swoop in! I'm in agreement with indierich06, Delort or Sakho would be better moves than Deeney. I pay a lot of attention to French football, and have contacts at Get French Football News. Going by what I've seen and been told about from both Delort and Sakho they'd be much better deals. We've already spent way too much on a Championship striker than he's worth (I'm not doubting his ability for one moment, I just don't think he's worth what we paid) so what's the point in going and spending almost £10mil on another? Nearly £20mil on two Championship strikers. And I can just see it if Deeney & Ulloa don't perform to the fans expectations (knowing City fans) they'll be calling for Pearson's head and complaining we've spent too much on "shit" players. Whereas targeting players like Delort and Sakho who won't demand £40k wages and we can pick up for around £2/£3mil, we're making more moves like Knockaert and Mahrez, and look how valuable to the team those guys are!
