GingerrrFox Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Said I would take the Mrs and her family out for some food when they come to visit in a few weeks. Where do you like most for quality food in Leicestershire/Rutland?
Guest MattP Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Pinnochios Fish Bar or the Market Tavern's 99p breakfast. Gorgeous.
GingerrrFox Posted 29 April 2014 Author Posted 29 April 2014 Pinnochios Fish Bar or the Market Tavern's 99p breakfast. Gorgeous. Not quite what I was thinking Matt. Can just imagine the Mother-in-laws face now...
Guest MattP Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Not quite what I was thinking Matt. Can just imagine the Mother-in-laws face now... Oh you are actually like the mother in law? On a serious note The Greyhound is nice in Botcheston, Royal Oak in Kirby and the Curzon Arms in Woodhouse Eves are probably my three favourites.
Soar Fox Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Taps, Casa Romana, The Case, Barceloneta, 1573. All are nice places depends on what kind of food you want though.
pSinatra Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 The Joiners Arms at Bruntingthorpe. Not the cheapest, but nice little village, decent venue & the food is fantastic.
Libertine Dream Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Not the cheapest places but the Grey Goose at Gilmorton, Staff of Life at Mowsley, Hammer and Pincers at Wymeswold. Heard the Royal Oak, suggested by BornBlue, is really good but not been
LcFc_Smiv Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 The Berkeley Arms in Wymondham! A little bit pricey and you'd probably have to book in advance but the foods incredible, beers pretty good too! http://www.greatfoodmag.co.uk/review-the-berkeley-arms-wymondham/
Grandad. Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Hammer and Pincers in Wymeswold is spot on, chained with the Blacksmiths in Barrow on Soar as well.
GingerrrFox Posted 29 April 2014 Author Posted 29 April 2014 Cheers fellas appreciate the shouts. She'll think I've actually put some effort in now!
Itsthejoeker Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 They Greyhound and the Royal Oak (Kirby) are great shouts.

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Curzon Arms in Woodhouse EvesI was trying to remember that name - will definitely vouch for the Curzon Arms, the food there is fantastic and it's got a great ambiance
Kinowe Soorie Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 The Old Vicarage on Enderby Road in Whetstone Gynsills in Glenfield Three Crowns in Barrow upon Soar The Gynsills? WUM!
Unabomber Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 The Windmill in Newbold Verdon is very good also. This place is great, they have also opened The Reservoir Inn in Thornton which is on par.
Rocket-Ron Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 I'll second the Grey Goose in Gilmorton. Not the cheapest but not overly expensive, but the food is delicious. http://www.greygoosegilmorton.co.uk/ never had a bad meal there. kilworth house in north kilworth also, Best piece of beef I have ever had.http://www.kilworthhouse.co.uk/. Not cheap either. Book into the orangery
kingcarr21 Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 depends what kind of money your looking to spend. Is it lunch or Dinner? As someone said before the Grey Lady in Newtown Linford is great. Can be expensive but if its lunch your taking the family too then the lunch menu at the Grey Lady is brilliant. The Carvery at the Gynsills is decent. Had many there and never had a problem with the food. Also Slates in Mountsorrell is really good. There Thai Green Curry was awesome
Stadt Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Are there any Michelin star restaurants in Leicestershire?
Unabomber Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Are there any Michelin star restaurants in Leicestershire? Closest is Hambleton Hall in Rutland. Sat Bains also has one in but that's in Nottingham.
goose2010 Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Are there any Michelin star restaurants in Leicestershire? Hambleton Hall in Oakham is and I think the chef at the Grey Lady in Newton Linford has one as well
