How Will Anthony Knockaert Fare In The Premier League ?

I think he'll be superb next season. He'll score an absolute wonder goal early on and the whole country will have their nose up his 'arris.

I can see by your sig that your totally impartial

Hes not my favourite player, i don't think that his pace will be the problem, it will be when his skills get found out and he becomes as useful as a chocolate teapot, flairing his arms up in the air having a hissy fit rather than tracking back when he loses the ball.

He's undoubtedly a talented player and his defensive work rate has really improved this season. Also he's one of the few players we have who can create an opening with a pass in the final third.

My worries would be twofold. First his shooting is largely poor though every now and then he comes up trumps. Second, and most important is his ball retention. He gives the ball away far too often and far too cheaply, often in quite dangerous positions. At championship level you don't get punished that often but in the Premier league we will do.

If the coaches get his build & pace up he will be great, I think they will do that over the summer

Also think Mahrez will be a gem in the prem

His defensive work had improved ten fold, which shows if that can improve given how poor he was at that element of the game last season then he's the potential to get better in other parts. His technical ability is the best we've had at the club since Izzet.

Exactly.

I have faith in Knocky.

If you'd asked a question like this last year, it would all have been about his lack of positional discipline and inability to shine at places like Millwall.

He is improving all the time in my opinion.

I have literally no idea....

I wonder if he might not be quick enough? But summat makes me think he'll be fine.

I'm genuinely am surprised by the negative comments. I find him a much more rounded player this year. Of course he still has bits to work on, but he's a young lad and I think he came back from the Watford disappointment very well.

Yes his lack of pace is his biggest drawback he might have to get used to being an impact player next season as I think Mahrez will be the star for us next season, as for the player just behind the striker I can see Drinkwater doing this leaving us Mahrez on one side then another player (with pace)  on the opposite side

I fully agree. Mahrez should shine, like the gem he is.

Pace won't be a problem. Got to remember that Knockaert is playing in a team with Schlupp, De Laet, Vardy and Dyer. They would make most Prem wingers look 'slow'.

One aspect of his game that i think he needs to cut out is the naivety in giving away soft free kicks in dangerous areas.

I think he will be fine. He has the ability on the ball to do well and his defensive side has improved no end this season. Although, I do think Mahrez will have a greater impact.

Saved me writing a post. So this!

Problem is you then have to drop wood, nugent, or vardy... Nuge and vards are on such form how can you drop them? and when wood comes on he does little wrong and has impacted games everytime i've seen him this season....

then you've got the fact that realistically we are going to need to sign a better striker. It's mad really, as city fans for the past 10 years we've been calling for a top top quality striker, 2/3 come along together and we want to play 1 upfront ;)

It's only experimental though. He's been playing 4-2-3-1 anyway with King just behind Nugent in the last few games so I see no reason he couldn't stick Dyer in for King, put Dyer out wide and Knockaert in the middle. I remember when we first signed Knockaert and he was threading through so many clever balls. That's why I've always thought it's his natural position.

Wood hasn't done loads wrong but he hasn't done loads right either, though I can appreciate why they'd want to get some form from him. Apparently he was the weak link again on Saturday. It's a shame.
