Corky Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 It was a shame they went down but it wasn't our game alone, they'd picked up one point from 7 games having been relatively comfortable. They scored 39, Birmingham scored 58, and you could see why today. They came for a point and didn't get it, then it was too late to change to an attacking side.
FuriousFox46 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 It was a penalty! He clips him. It's a shame for DoncasterBut it's certainly not our fault they weren't good enough over 46 games.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Just had a look at the penalty again, there is clear contact and Mahrez gets up straight the way and looks towards the linesman who gives it...
ScouseFox Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 the fella who gives it away knows he's fouled him, he looks at the line of the area to see if he can get away with claiming it's a foul but outside the area but then realises it's all gone wrong.
Libertine Dream Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Defender defiantly stuck his leg out, i really would have liked to see them go for it a bit more when they were 1 down, it didn't matter if they lost by more, needed to take more risks at the end to get the point. If Kasper had taken the penalty and missed it, how much trouble would we be in from the FA? Cause no doubt that Brum would have complained. So because he's a goalkeeper that means he shouldn't take a penalty? Is he statistically more likely to miss because of his position?
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 So because he's a goalkeeper that means he shouldn't take a penalty? Is he statistically more likely to miss because of his position? 1. If he misses and it doesn't go out, he leaves an open goal at the other end 2. It's highly unlikely that Kasper practices penalties to the same extent as Nuge and others I doubt you really believe it would be a good idea for Kasper to take a penalty.
Guest LCFC_World Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 I would have loved to see Doncaster stay up. It would have been double celebrations. To be fair their fans were great, and they were loud too. I'm also sorry to hear about the Doncaster fan who had to receive CPR, thoughts are with the family.
Haydos Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Still think it was a dive tbh. Why did none of their players complain then? I'm not saying you're wrong, I just don't see many things down on the pitch to suggest it was.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 I feel sorry for them, but football can be a cruel game. I would rather Birmingham had been relegated, but it just wasn't to be.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Looked a definite penalty in real time, hard to tell from replays. Donny parked the bus - or were tactically clever - depending on your view - and it worked for 75 minutes. Gutted for Dickov, hope they bounce right back - shame it wasn't Holloway we were waving off into League One.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just don't see many things down on the pitch to suggest it was. First of all, some of them were complaining quite a lot, but what difference does it make? Secondly, it's quite possible they were duped by the dive as well, or that they already saw the officials had given it and didn't see the point. Not only that, players get lambasted for complaining to the referee, and then the fact that they don't complain is used as evidence of their culpability.

You always see it when there's even a hint of a player going down easily. As others have said, not even the tackler complained, he must have known he'd clipped him. Either way, no point in going on about it now.

Kevin Pressman used to take pens for Sheffield Wednesday. I didn't want Kasper to take it, but I'm pretty confident he'd have scored if he did.

Fox 4 Life Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Blame Danns he absolutely skied a sitter that would have made it 3-1 Bolton with less than 10 to play!

A bit silly allowing your keeper to take penalties, if you miss your leaving the opposition a great chance to score themselves..
katieakita Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Would have thought Pressman took a decent penalty, probably take about 2 mins box to box mind
deejdeej Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 What a great day yesterday was, counting house before and after the game was buzzing. R.i.p to the donny fan, they seemed thoroughly decent fans and I wish they stayed up but I hope they come back up.
DennisNedry Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Time for a bit of Doncaster hate to balance out the love-in. - Doncaster are the biggest negative anti-football side I've seen both Home and Away this season. - They only scored 39 goals all season, 5 less than next-worse Yeovil and less than half what we scored. That shows how little they attack and try to win games. Birmingham scored 19 more. - They all celebrated like they'd won the Champions League against us and took the right piss out of Kasper. - They travelled in decent numbers (but surely that's expected for last game in a relegation dogfight) but despite joining the mexican wave, I only heard about 5 songs all game from them. Poor volume and variety imo.

I was in with the Donny fans, from the very beginning they applauded our players and also our fans, almost to a man they applauded the 'champione' song and they had a pretty good repotoir too. Don't disagree with your assessment of their match tactics though

All the other Leicester fans have told me how excellent our support was, and I have to agree, we didn't stop singing throughout. Didn't hear the home fans mind, apart from those right next to us.
