I hate the Premier League

Recommended Posts

I hate the refs who never give decisions against the big clubs, I hate arrogant fans who will instantly write us off, I hate the zero credit for anything we are soon to get from the media, unless it is to cast us in the role of plucky underdogs, I hate the big name players from god knows where who are playing for dollars rather than pride, I hate the fact that Sky highjacked what used to be just the top flight of English football to turn it into a global media circus.

But...I think the supposed quality of the PL is smoke and mirrors beyond around six clubs and I don't think we have that much to worry about.  So throughout all the bs and fanfare we are due to be subjected to, let's just remember that we are not in the entertainment business, we are a football club, and for a decade we have suffered for our faith which we have surely kept.

Engage siege mentality...now.

It'll be worth it just not to put up with the Football league show anymore what a joke that was last night so glad we don't have to put up with that crap anymore

I just hate the fact I know we'll never ever win it. That division is sadly dominated by money and a club has to be bankrolled to have a chance of winning it. The days of a team getting promoted then challenging for the top flight title are long over.

Will we turn into Prem fans like Newcastle fans who think they have a right to win a Championship or a Cup?

Let's face it Europe places are really out of the reach of all but the rich so winning the title is ridiculous. Perhaps Newcastle should drop a division and remember how wonderful it is just to survive in the Prem!!!

If Manish Bhasin gets a job presenting MOTD next season I think I might be done with watching football the bloke should be a specialist in helping people with insomnia.

The owner's estimated net worth for Hull (£750m) and Wigan (£190m) [nothing on wikipedia for Brum] seems to disagree.

In fact, the same page suggests that there are 10 clubs (at least) in the prem who have a lower net worth than our owners. The Glazers at Man Utd only just beat us, as well. Our owner's net worth is only going to increase now that we're premier league and their brand is advertised globally. Their current worth is almost exclusively from their Asia operations - if they are able to set up shop in other continents, the KP brand could become huge. With the promise of whatever funds he needs being available for Nige, we could well begin to justify the tag of 'big spending Leicester' (although with NP/SW it'd be good value rather than expensive flops).

I believe that if we finish about 15th next season we can build on from there, eventually leading us to be a regular top ten team. From there - anything can happen. What I am trying to say is that we just need to stay there for a few years before anything big can happen (Europe League for example).

Name a popular sport that isn't dominated by money...

Spot on, little steps, stay up and build, we have been established premier league side before, who won cup competitions, a club our size, I would be happy with that again.
