lcfcsnow Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 We were down months ago when we failed to beat everyone around us. Our one target left is to not finish bottom.
Guest ttfn Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 We were down months ago when we failed to beat everyone around us. Our one target left is to not finish bottom. Yeah let's just forfeit all the remaining games except for the Burnley one. Controversial maybe but I think villa should have had a pen for that agbonlahor incident
Matt Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 No idea why so many people think Hull and Sunderland are safe as houses. They're both shite. Â The 4 below them are worse? Â I'm sorry but i'm not buying in to all the run-in BS, we havn't shown anything to suggest we could beat most of the remaining teams 1st time round, I see nothing to suggest we will 2nd time round, I hope we do, I really hope we do but I can't see it.
Brooksy Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 Surprised it wasn't given considering Moss is reffing
Guest kristianity77 Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 Dunno why people are even bothered that Villa are winning, win or lose for them it won't have any bearing on where we finish this season. Â It will probably take us half our remaining games to even get to the points tally they are at now.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 7pts off safety looks daunting, come on Baggies.

Your probably right, but I am still clinging on to the smallest bit of hope which will disappear tonight if Villa win.
Dan Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 Considering mathematically we could be out of the bottom three in 12 days time I don't think it's ridiculous of our fans to want the other dross around us to lose. Plenty of time left yet although it will need a pretty dramatic change in our own performance.

I think on the balance of play we could argue with at least the same strength as out opponents that we did enough to beat Burnley, QPR, West Brom and Sunderland first time around. They were all even games and frankly for us to get just 2 points out of them was an absolute joke. I'm not saying we deserved to win them all by any means, but I do think that a decent centre forward would have won all 4 of those games for us. We've now got one. So I think we've got a chance.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 I thought Villa would put on a better showing tonight. Still ages left though. These results need to change in our favour.

Villa are beating one of the form sides, did you expect any more than that? They've scored about twice all season.  I haven't got BT Sport. By all accounts it's been shit.

I understand from that point of view but still, it makes no odds if Villa win.  Whoever is in 17th Spot in May will likely have around the 35 point mark.  Regardless of results going our way or not, do we have what it takes to make sure that its us that has those 35 points?  The answer to that question doesn't change based on teams around us messing up or not.
Dan Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 It's awful. If I had a life I wouldn't be watching it. Â Should do what I do and just stare at flash scores awaiting to kick off when one of your bet teams goes behind. It's great fun.

Burnley - We shit ourselves, panicked and ultimately committed suicide, we were bloody awful aswell. QPR - I didn't go, I can't comment. West Brom - We were pretty awful, didn't really turn up, how we only lost 1-0 god only knows, if they had someone who had their shooting boots on we'd have been hammered. Sunderland - We played well in the game, I will say that and it's the only game I can agree with regards your second paragraph out of the 4 games that have been listed.
AKCJ Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 According to BBC Sport; Â "Gus Poyet has been sent off for Sunderland - and it's all gone off! Steve Bruce has to be restrained by the fourth official as he tries to get at Poyet! There could be repercussions about that. Poyet walked across to Bruce and tried to shake his hand and Bruce was not happy at all. What triggered the incident originally was Jack Rodwell being booked for a dive when clean through, with Poyet convinced that there was contact." Â Pair of utter *****, can't stand either of them. Hate the "Good old Brucie" image that the media paint him as.
Dan Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 I agree with ttfn that there wasn't a lot in that kind of game, hence why the decision to bench Kramaric against Palace is the one that angered me most this season as based on what we've seen of him so far, we might not have lost that game if he'd started.

Are you still doing the 'really we ought to be better than/should have beaten' thing? You and Nige don't seem to have learnt much this season yet mate? It's a tough division.

You obviously watched a different west Brom game to me. They offered absolutely nothing and scored from a freak own goal. AND this was a game when Pearson was going through his mental diamond phase. We should have won the Burnley game. You're right, we did shit ourselves in the last 10 minutes but over the 90 we were much the better side. Again, they barely created a chance. Vardy missed 3 one-on-ones at QPR. I don't think we'll get out of this but a massive reason for that is that we were unable to turn poor performances against equally poor teams into draws and mediocre performances against worse teams into wins. It's not that we've always played poorly, it's that we've been dire in both boxes.

Hi Col, please read my post properly and then come back to me and maybe we can have an adult discussion, like the one I am having with Matt. I thought you thought we are going to finish 17th? So you must think we've fixed some of what we were missing previously?
cjslcfc Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 Why do West Brom have to turn shit when we need something from them?? They've been absolutely appalling!
Dan Posted 3 March 2015 Posted 3 March 2015 West Brom under Pulis are just one of those sides who manage to piss me off in every single game.
