Who will be the "marquee" signing?

Riyad Mahrez and Tony K were barely known when they signed so not really 'marquee'

The title doesn't say anything sensible really

There won't be a "marquee" signing in the sense of star player on big wages, the whole club is being built on hardwork and team spirit. Wage structures won't be broken.

I'd prefer it if we had a "gazebo" signing.

In all seriousness we won't sign one, it completely goes against Pearson's ethos and our owners don't seem like they'd force one.

Obviously my suggestions for previous big signings are debatable, at the time they probably weren't but now a couple of years down the line they are (except for Mills, he was just expensive and rubbish). There must surely be a 5M+ player joining this summer. I don't remember the last time a promoted club didn't make at least one big signing. I just have a feeling Pearson has something up his sleeve.

No marquee signings for me

Nothing would damage everything we've achieved quicker than a big name, on double the money of everyone else, who got us where we are as a close knit team

There won't be any "marquee" signings.

Expect a couple of unknowns and PL "fringe" players to make an appearance this summer.

Btw, that doesn't make them bad players. If they fit the profile and improve the squad overall, we'll go places.

Don't think there will be one. The last few seasons have made me dislike the idea of it anyway.

I'm not excited by big, flashy transfers so much now. More interested in how the team building process is going - do we have a balanced side, is Pearson getting the men he wants etc.

We'll spend big on a player, certainly but that doesn't mean that they are a 'marquee' signing.

Pearson certain wouldn't want the stigma of such a signing either.

Marquee signings are generally the biggest signings.

Our track record with 'marquee' signings is beyond abysmal and has probably tarnished my view on them in general.

Knockaert, simply because I couldn't think of anyone more appropriate. Chris Wood perhaps.

Mahrez because he was the only player signed that wasn't free.

Fairly sure we paid for Hammond.

I'm pretty sure Pearson will spend bigger on just one or two quality signings. However, I have a feeling we won't know a great deal about them. I reckon someone from Europe who we will sign for potential, but who will command a bigger transfer fee because the potential will be clear.

Mahrez and Knockaert were not marquee signings. I don't know why you'd say that. I doubt any of us had heard of either before they arrived.

I hate the idea of a marquee signing, and I really don't think NP would want to sign a big name just for the sake of it. I'd actually be shocked if he did make a marquee signing. As others have said, it would almost certainly destroy the harmony of the squad.

Urgh

Genuinely.. why 'urgh'. He's still exceptional. It won't happen of course.. wages.

In that case I salute your knowledge. I was unaware. Do you have any idea how much Hammond cost? Heard Mahrez cost 400k (what a steal!).

Undisclosed fee. Reported to be near 400k if I remember right.
