Can someone help me with this please?

I havent been on my computer in my room in ages I turned it on yesterday for the first time in ages, it comes up with this message(below), I know normally it says if you dont want to run the check press any key however i'm not getting the chance to skip the check it just stays on either 1, 2 or 3 perecent and freezes at that point is there anyway I could skip this check?

Checking file system on C:

The type of file system is NTFS.

one of your disks need to be checked for consistency. You may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue.

Windows will now check the disk.

CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)...

Thanks!

if i can remember, press x.

Try doing a second repair or, failing that, backup, format & reload.

Anyone know if that " IE Tab " thing is bad for your pc? I was told to use it for something and have installed it but not sure if it is safe.

It's an add-on for Firefox.

I'm in huge trouble. Something keeps attacking me allegedly, and this 'Digital Proection' thing has randomly appeared on my computer and I can't get rid of it. I go to uninstall and it says it's already uninstalled which clearly isn't the case.

AVG has suddenly disappeared/stopped working and windows firewall has changed randoly to 'XP Security' and it keeps trying to get me to pay for some shit.

HELP.

Does it sound like This?

If so, it was completely bogus. I just closed it to get rid. Cleared my cache, then ran malware bites (or whatever it's called) to double check. Apparently they do it just to get you to buy the supposed 'cleanup' software which does bugger all anyway.

Seems odd that your AVG has disappeared. My Anti-virus (Nod32) was still up and running when it happened to me (part of what made me suspicious about it's 'genuineness' - Nod32 didn't find anything when I ran a scan) so maybe it's something different with you? :dunno: Sorry I can't be of more help.

I've found my AVG again, cleared my cache the only way I know how (through tools in firefox? ) and have no idea to do malware check thing. I've got AVG scanning my computer now.

And this Digital Protection thing says I can't delete it, just says access denied :S

Also, task manager (alt/ctrl/del) 'has been disabled by administrator' :|

Danny Boy, get your arse in here!

.This might help Dave

When you get one of those alert things in future don't click anything on them (I think it's ok to click the x at top right of screen though to get rid before it does any damage :dunno:) I had one once and it sent me into panic zone, they not good.

Yeah AVg good place to start. I would then run ccleaner then malware bytes and ad aware.

PS: Chill! :D

(To download Ccleaner, Malwarebytes and Adaware, type them into google or look on download.com)

Not that this will mean anything but you have the Zlob virus..

Run HijackThis to take out all unwanted start up items and processes. If you're lucky the virus should be here so it will stop affecting you but you still need to take it out even if it's disabled now. Run CCleaner on all the computer accounts (if the strain of virus is bad then it will close this as it realises you are trying to remove it. if this happens boot into safe mode and do this)

Once CCleaner has been ran download MALWARE BYTES and then update it, do a quick scan (as you've ran ccleaner to remove all the crap it should only take around 5 minutes) this should find some infections and then remove them. Reboot PC. With your anti virus eg. AVG or Norton update it then run a full system scan. Reboot. Job done.

HijackThis : http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-Hijack...4-10227353.html

CCleaner : http://www.filehippo.com/download/file/608295e583dd257019dfc1aec3c7d2ecd3f3f66ad565379a50a907c24bedcb93/

MalwareBytes : http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3001-8022_4-10804572&ontId=8022_4&spi=1e26abd8bbefb980c93f124285f2d662&lop=txt&tag=idl2&pid=11356312&mfgId=6290020&merId=6290020&pguid=INiaTwoPjF8AAB5g6N0AAAAJ&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fsoftware-files-l.cnet.com%2Fs%2Fsoftware%2F11%2F35%2F63%2F12%2Fmbam-setup-1.45.exe%3Fe%3D1271130605%26h%3D1ecfb0c2ff82919c33287dc7c1bcadeb%26lop%3Dlink%26ptype%3D1901%26ontid%3D8022%26siteId%3D4%26edId%3D3%26spi%3D1e26abd8bbefb980c93f124285f2d662%26pid%3D11356312%26psid%3D10804572%26fileName%3Dmbam-setup-1.45.exe

ComboFix : http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

If they start closing down because the virus knows that you're trying to remove it then reboot in safe mode and try running them. If the files still don't open, then get ComboFix and run that. If it won't run you'll have to rename the file to something like "DB11isgreat.exe" and then run it. If this doesn't work and they still don't open then you'd could take out the hard drive, put it in another computer as a slave and then boot it up. As it's the slave it won't boot up to this hard drive but you can still access it from the computer. After this, tell the working computer to scan the other hard drive.

Run AVG

lol Empty!

Erm, it's still pretty fucked atm. Keeps freezing and going slower than Jo Brand goes at a salad, but i'm scanning using the Malwarebytes thing atm, hopefully it makes it to the end this time.

Damn you Zlob (whatever that is).

The kids' netbook isn't working and I thought it was the charger (the wires feel broken inside) so I order a charger that said it was compatible off EBay. The charger arrived today but the netbook is still not working.

Some of the numbers on the charger are different;

Original charger:INPUT 100-240 1.5A 50-60Hz OUTPUT 19V 3.42A

New charger: INPUT 100-240V 50-60 Hz 1.6A OUTPUT DC20V 2A

Should the new charger still work or is the netbook f88ked?
