kingfox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Everton will likely start like ___________howard___________ Coleman__Jagielka__Distin___Baines__ _______Barry _______McCarthy_____ __McGeady___Barkley______Pienaar___ ___________Naismith__________ I expect Lukaku and Mirallas to feature at some point if we are struggling Can't see you hitting us on a counter if we play first choice back 4 they are too experienced and Coleman and Baines are very quick Do you think your performance will depend on, how well Coleman & Baines overlap and the quality of their deliveries, or how well McCarthy & Barry keep the ball & dominate possession?
Ozwin Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Will this be a sellout? Not sure yet but I might be able to get down there for kick off which'd be nice.
HEGGSY Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Will this be a sellout? Not sure yet but I might be able to get down there for kick off which'd be nice.I think it is sold out mate, or near enough
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 It's SOLD OUT! can't buy any tickets anywhere in the stadium online
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Schemeichel De Laet - Morgan - Moore - Konchesky Drinkwater - James Mahrez - King - Nugent Ulloa Subs: Hamer, Wasilewski, Schlupp, Hammond, Taylor-Fletcher, Vardy, Wood/Hopper
midland_red Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I dont think we can read much - if anything into pre season. Everton are a class act and I fear playing them will be a very different experience to what we enjoyed last year 0-2 Everton
Toffee_Fox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Howard Coleman Jagielka Distin Baines McCarthy Mirallas Besic Pienaar Barkley Lukaku That would be my team personally
cjslcfc Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Howard Coleman Jagielka Distin Baines McCarthy Mirallas Besic Pienaar Barkley Lukaku That would be my team personally Are those players fit? Heard there were doubts.
Toffee_Fox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Lukaku and Mirallas both played in a behind closed doors friendly today against Sheffield Wednesday, Lukaku scoring two of the goals, so they should both feature, Coleman is possibly a doubt but Martinez often makes things sound a lot worse than they are, mind games...?

Fair enough. Would have preferred those 3 not to line up against us to be honest
Toffee_Fox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 If Coleman is out, I'd go with John Stones there since he is naturally a RB.
cjslcfc Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Seems a bit of a big lad for a RB. Is he quite pacey?
AKCJ Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Seems a bit of a big lad for a RB. Is he quite pacey? There was a clip from the preseason friendly where Vardy made him look like GTF.
cjslcfc Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 There was a clip from the preseason friendly where Vardy made him look like GTF. Yeah but we can't compare everyone to Vards. Although apparently RDL is the quickest over about 50 to 60 metres. With Schlupp, RDL, Mahrez and Vardy we have some bloody quick players!
Toffee_Fox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Stones is pacy, just needs to make sure his positioning is correct, he was signed as a RB but Martinez has converted him to a centre half so he seems a tad wrong footed now at full back but its a better option than Hibbert Yeah but we can't compare everyone to Vards. Although apparently RDL is the quickest over about 50 to 60 metres. With Schlupp, RDL, Mahrez and Vardy we have some bloody quick players! Lukaku, Mirallas and Barkley break deadly quick too, was even better when we had GD bombing up too.
Toffee_Fox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 he could play three at the back and bring in Alcaraz who is rather comfortable on the ball.
AKCJ Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 he could play three at the back and bring in Alcaraz who is rather comfortable on the ball. But would he want to move Baines to an uncomfortable left midfield role? How is Oviedo by the way? Felt so sorry for him, looked like he was making waves in your side until his injury.
Toffee_Fox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Baines would play wing back. Ovideo is back, he has been back in training since March, 6 weeks after breaking his leg! just Martinez doesn't want to risk him, thinks his body should take more time but he is one hell of a character, major fans favourite
benpicko Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 There was a clip from the preseason friendly where Vardy made him look like GTF. He did make a brilliant recovery tackle though

I'd love it if we signed him.
