MC Prussian Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 To be honest, I think all this pre-match talk is a bit redundant. The two sides haven't met in a league game for ten years and there's both a real chance of Leicester fans not being able to estimate Everton's strength and vice versa. We should be very wary of our opponents, as Martinez has formed a formidable team and will continue to build on that. No matter who'll start for them, they'll be up for it. Not just because they've got something to prove following a rather poor pre-season tour. Then again, some of the Everton fans' opinions on here make me laugh. They literally have no clue what they're up against, so that novelty factor should work in our favour. I find it a bit oblivious and arrogant to a certain extent to underestimate us, not little about our players sauf being able to spell Jamie Vardy's name. There's more to us than that. We're the underdogs - so what? We've usually thrived in the top tier performing in this role, spoiling it for the opposition. Only the biggest fools would expect us to move mountains during this new PL campaign, we can but gain from the next 38 league games. Whereas Everton have a lot to lose and the Merseyside's expectations are on a different level. Personally, I'd love to start the first PL season in a decade with a win. Head says draw, though.
Leicester Rule! Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I honestly think this could easily be a 2-0 or 3-0 victory to Everton, but hoping we scrape a 1-0 victory with a last minute winner.
The old lady Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 We (Everton) conceded most of our goals via set peices or counter attacks
lgfualol Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 We (Everton) conceded most of our goals via set peices or counter attacks You dont have to worry about set pieces
daddylonglegs Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 less than 6 days. jesus christ i cant remember ever being this excited for a game. saw someone say it earlier but Nugent has to start for me - Everton and Liverpool will be the games he is absolutely 100% fired up for. Especially with both Knocky and Vardy injured I'd go with Kasper RDL wes moore schlupp drinkwater james Albrighton Nuge Mahrez Ulloa Hamer, Konch, Wasyl, Cambiasso , King, Knockaert, Vardy/GTF cant ****ing waaaaaaaait
whetstonefox Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 It will be 4-4 with an injury time equaliser for one of the teams, and first up on MOTD,both managers will bemoan defending set pieces but say it was superb entertainment.Ulloa will score at least 2, goal line technology will need to be used and the referee will run out of magic spray with the 4th official having to run to Morrisons to buy some shaving foam.

daddylonglegs Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Is Vardy not alright now? And isn't Albrighton injured? havent heard anything - thats anticipating that hes not fit. dont know about albrighton? that really would be bad news if we didnt have albrighton vardy and knockaert...we'd only have 1 winger...

We played Schlupp against Werder Bremen so I'd imagine he'd be there with Mahrez Also, speaking of Vardy and Knockaert, did Vardy ever sign that new 4 year deal and was Knockaert offered one?
daddylonglegs Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 We played Schlupp against Werder Bremen so I'd imagine he'd be there with Mahrez so a front 4 of schlupp nugent mahrez ulloa? with Konch at left back? really do not like the thought of Konchesky against mirallas and coleman!!
The old lady Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Everton will likely start like ___________howard___________ Coleman__Jagielka__Distin___Baines__ _______Barry _______McCarthy_____ __McGeady___Barkley______Pienaar___ ___________Naismith__________ I expect Lukaku and Mirallas to feature at some point if we are struggling Can't see you hitting us on a counter if we play first choice back 4 they are too experienced and Coleman and Baines are very quick

Very quick you say? Time for a Vardy party.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Personally don't think any of Vardy, Knockaert or Albrighton will feature unfortunately. I wouldn't be surprised to see us scrape a draw but head says comfortable Everton win, here. 2-0.
benpicko Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 The Fantasy Premier League site doesn't say that Vardy's injured Looks ready to beat Everton in the photo too
Captain... Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 I'm hoping that the poor pre-season and the number of players that were away at the World Cup will mean that Everton will be slow out of the blocks, and we could catch them cold. I hope we take it to them in the first 10 - 15 minutes, get the crowd going and put them on the back foot, I know pre-season means fvck all but winning is a habit, and one that we have. Most people looking at this fixture will rightly expect Everton to win, they are a better team, and if this match was later in the season we would probably write it off as one of those games, like Chelsea and Man City, that we wouldn't expect anything from. But the fact it is the first game of the season and we are at home, our players will be buzzing and it will be like a cup final for them I really do think we could surprise them and cause an upset... Saying that my money is still on the draw.
Big_Nige Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Really cannot wait for this. It's been a long time coming. Was 21 and still a yoof last time I saw Leicester in the Premier League. Seems like a lifetime ago. Great introduction back, Could not have asked for a better fixture. Everton are a great side, loved watching them last season, their performance in the league at the Emirates showed what a great footballing team they can be. Martinez has done a fantastic job and I hope he continues the progress again this season. Always had a soft spot for Everton, lovely ground, great set of fans and I'm looking forward to going there in Feb. My heart says we'll be so up for this, we might catch them slightly off guard and with Coleman possibly injured and Lukaku + Mirallas doubtful we might sneak a 2-1 win My head says we'll put on a good show, give them a game but succumb to a pair of sloppy goals and lose 2-1. Whatever the score I'm just happy to be back.
MickM86 Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Hope it's a good, fair game and goes to the blues! Everton, that is. After reading your optimism I don't doubt any of it and fully expect a solid Leicester performance, I think they'll take the game to Everton anyway. If Everton are at their best its only gonna go one way I'm afraid. On our day we are superb and better than anyone in this league. We have to be at our best and Martinez gets that into the players heads and will demand nothing less. We never write anybody off or underestimate an opposition, Martinez is a gentleman and is very respectful towards opposition. I noticed a post here from Tubey who is from the Everton forum, which I'm banned from. I wrote some things which wasn't very clever and I started to get infractions for my general behaviour. I've learnt many lessons from my mistakes and put them all behind me. I would like to go back on there and be a forum supporter, I would even pay the owner £100 just to reinstate my account. Everton is my life and it would be good to be able to talk about them with other fans on a daily basis. I think once you've been banned its impossible to come back from that. I would genuinely love another chance. I wouldn't risk it again and I would be constructive in what I say. I told them all stories which all were true but a lot of people thought I was on a wind up. I wouldn't tell lies but I understand now that my stories wasn't relevant to that particular forum. If I was allowed back I would solely keep my talk about Everton an various other off topic conversations but I vow I will never cross the line. I have a lot of respect for my other blues and I hope they can find it in their hearts to allow me back on. We are Everton, we are a family. If anyone feels like pleading my case to the site owner I would be very appreciative Grandoldteam.com Thanks guys
Corky Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Isn't it nice to be preparing for a season like this? It's been too long to wait and we now have a full house, full away allocation and a real sense of optimism heading into a new season. A win would be fantastic and give everyone a huge lift. It's going to be a step up from last season's opposition but we can raise our game. The fans are at their best when we are underdogs and need to back the team, hopefully that will help produce a cracking atmosphere.
daddylonglegs Posted 11 August 2014 Posted 11 August 2014 Fantasy football says albrighton and knockaert are injured but vardy is fit.... result
