Stevosevic Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 It's only a week away, and potentially some good news: Martinez fears Romelu Lukaku, 21, may miss Everton's first match of the season against Leicester City next weekend as the Belgium striker is still feeling the effects of his World Cup campaign. StanSP Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 I hear that Coleman is injured, too. And Mirallas isn't fully fit. Not that they're the only players who are good at Everton. But it could potentially mean Tony Hibbert at right-back!

bluebeau Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Could be a touch of propaganda from Martinez? I think Lukaku will be involved in the game, possibly on the subs bench? 3 points for the Foxes imo.
Kitchandro Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Cannot wait. I'm not really sure how we'll line up but if we play to our best from last season we'll give them a good game. Is Vardy going to be fit?
Basingstoke Fox Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Any news on Knocky since the Rotherham game either?
Bryn Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 If Vardy's been carrying a knock I suspect we'll go like this. Schmeichel de Laet Moore Morgan Schlupp Drinkwater James Albrighton Nugent Mahrez Ulloa No need to rush anybody who's not fit, especially up front where we've got options. But we'll see how we're shaping up after Werder Bremen.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 David Nugent absolutely has to play in this. He's always fired up for the games against clubs that mean something to him and where he wants to prove something (Portsmouth, Burnley, Southampton & Ipswich). It'll be very much the same against Liverpool & Everton. Plus he's been shit hot in pre season by all accounts.
Fox92 Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Really cannot wait now, especially as I'm sat here watching competitive football on the tele. Hope this week goes fast.
LanguedocFox Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 I do hope Vardy is fit, because he will scare the living daylights out of their defence. It is going to be a good match: I will be happy with a point,
planetgoodison Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Hello there, I've recently started a football blog called "Planet Goodison" dedicated to the club I love, Everton FC (don't kick me out just yet). You can find the blog right here: http://planetgoodison.com/ I think it'd be a cool feature for the blog to have a guest post each week from a supporter of the club we are about to play. It just so happens we are one week away from kickoff of the Premiership and Everton vs. Leicester City. So my question for all of you at Foxes Talk is, would anyone like to be the inaugural contributor to Planet Goodison's "View from the Visiting End" series? Your post could be as long or short as you'd like but I think a great goal would be somewhere between 400-500 words. Also, I really want you to focus on your club's players (the guys that I don't know as much about) as well as formations, injuries, etc. I'll look for those elements so that I (and other Everton supporters) can get a better sense of the team we're about to play. Each post should contain a little bit about Everton as well, who you guys feel is the player that needs to be stopped or who can be exploited. Of course I'm always open to a little bit of trash talk as well. You will receive all the credit for your work (unfortunately no compensation because I don't write well enough to get paid) and I will give you plenty of shout outs on twitter and soccer forums to my dozens of followers (it's still a new blog, have to grow the fan base). Let me know if you are interested! email: [email protected] Thanks, Planet Goodison
Larry_LCFC Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 They have sold their 3300 which is good. Just hope we don't have loads of empty seats with STH being on holiday. Suppose its inevitable to a degree at this time of year. Cant wait for this!
casablancas Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 I think we will get a result from this one. We look decent and in form whereas the toffees ain't been that convincing (from what I've read, granted). By all accounts they believe they're going to steamroll us.
Craig Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Well they seem to have a very low opinion of us, many of them calling us 'terrible'.
foxfanazer Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Well they seem to have a very low opinion of us, many of them calling us 'terrible'.Where?
StanSP Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 This is the worst I've seen. Clearly didn't see us last season and underestimates us by some length. http://www.totalfootballforums.com/forums/topic/92745-sat-16th-august-2014-leicester-vs-everton/?p=1583240 http://www.totalfootballforums.com/forums/topic/92745-sat-16th-august-2014-leicester-vs-everton/?p=1583246
Brooksy Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 These are gash and we always win. 2-0 City, Ulloa brace.
Tielemans63 Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Vital to get off to a good start. A point or more would be a great result. Everton are a terrific side though, Martinez is a great young manager. If he continues his current trajectory he could be up there with the likes of Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger & Pearson.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Wow that Cannabis chap is a class-A arse-fingerer.
Larry_LCFC Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Wow that Cannabis chap is a class-A arse-fingerer. He should stick to nicking wheels. Pr1ck.
theessexfox Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 Stan you have a combined 52,000 posts on football forums...
StanSP Posted 9 August 2014 Posted 9 August 2014 :: I have a life, honest. I just post a lot about football . What's better than writing and talking about the thing you love?
