Danno Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Should be an easy win here. Everton are a poor side and will probably be relegated this season. Can see them putting everyone behind the ball and hoping to get into our half at some point in the game.
MHC Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Think we will win this one, then lose the three fixtures following.
Carl the Llama Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 A win will be a bonus imo, can't see beyond a draw.  Should be an easy win here. Wut.   Always have to laugh when people talk about Jagielka being a weak point in our defence. I rate Vardy but he's not someone I'm scared of, purely because I'd be more certain of the likes of Barkley, Lukaku, Mirallas, Coleman, Baines having some joy against your defence. Make your mind up, it's one or the other.  Actually seeing him play might help.

You can't say you aren't worried about an opposing forwards threat because of your own forward options. Vardy is running at Jagielka and Distin not Lukaku and Mirallas, the quality of your strikers is irrelevant when assessing the quality of an opposing forward.
Craig Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Pretty sure Lukaku, Mirallas, and Coleman are all serious doubts.Â
SomalianFox15 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Pre season form certainly favours us, not that it means much.
Craig Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Â Everton could do with remembering what happened in the cup final.
RB20 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Pretty sure Lukaku, Mirallas, and Coleman are all serious doubts. Coleman will play, Lukaku and Mirallas questionable.

I'm saying that I'd have more confidence in our better attacking players to cause you more trouble. I'm more than confident that Jagielka, Distin or Stones could deal with your strike force.
SomalianFox15 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 We really do need a win on Saturday as I cant see us picking up many points in our next 4 games and could be playing catch up for a while.
Brooksy Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 In all seriousness I think we'll edge it in a high scoring game, our defence is shite but they'll underestimate the quality and pace of our attack. Â Either 3-2 or 4-3 to us.
Tom17LCFC Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that I'd have more confidence in our better attacking players to cause you more trouble. theessexfox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Everton really should have enough to deal with us, but it's a season opener, you never know  3-1 Everton

RB20 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 To be honest I think you're the ones in for the surprise. We've dealt with all manner of attacks in the countless number of years we've been in the top flight. Jagielka and Distin are more than capable of dealing with Nugent, Ulloa etc. Considering there isn't one Leicester player that would get into our eleven I can't be anything other than confident. Think I'll leave it there considering youse find it hard to engage in decent level headed football chat because obviously you stormed the championship and now you're great. Pardon me.
Ozwin Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Can see us getting a draw out of this and surprising a few people. 0-0.
Fox92 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I don't think Everton will be as good as they were last season, and without Lukaku (reports that he could miss the game) they don't offer much threat up front in my opinion. There's no reason why we can't get a draw, I just think we may have to settle with not seeing the ball as much as Everton. Martinez plays good football and they usually dominate the ball. Â 1-1.

Pardon me.Not at all, you're the one being arrogant, not us.Of course on paper you should beat us and you have every right to expect that but if your players turn up with that attitude and think they can just go through the motions then they could be in for a shock. We're probably not as bad as you think to be honest mate. If Lukaku doesn't play that'll be a bonus for us as I do see him as the type of striker our defence could struggle with. Obviously there are other players that can hurt us but it would certainly help. Is that decent level headed football chat enough?

Tubey Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Hi guys, Â Everton fan "in peace", whatever that means. Â It's going to be an interesting game - I think you're wide of the mark if you think we underestimate you. It's quite the opposite in fact; I think our pre-season has been deliberately less taxing so that we have the energy to throw at a side that will be brimming with confidence after an excellent Championship season and will be looking to make a mark early doors. Â So it's not complacency from Evertonians, rather something that is a bit alien to us - confidence. That doesn't mean I think we'll walk the game, but I do think we'll win it, and that's not a dig at your clubs ability at all, but a confidence in our own. Â Pre-season has been a bit of a misnomer for us as we've never played a full strength game. Take the Thailand friendly; you were pretty much at full strength for that one and we were a reserve team when compared to the side we'll put out in the Prem. Â Depending on the side you put out, you could cause us problems if we're slow out the block - Ulloa is a decent player and there's a decent balance throughout your side - but my opinion is that you'll sit back and keep it tight early on to avoid a silly early goal to kill the momentum of your fans, and if you do that then you'll find it difficult to turn the game as we're an excellent side on the front foot. Â Agree you're going to miss the likes of Vardy as the best plan of attack against Everton is to close us down rapidly, defend from the front and not allow the midfield in the game in the final third or in wide areas. Â Should be a good game anyway, personally wouldn't be too distraught with a draw. Â By the way, if you want to gain proper understanding of an Evertonian, try www.grandoldteam.com as that's the "hub" of our fanbase online. Â Cheers, and good luck for the season ahead!

Think I'll leave it there considering youse find it hard to engage in decent level headed football chat because obviously you stormed the championship and now you're great. Pardon me. I can guarantee that last season we paid more attention to Everton than you did to us last season therefore how can you say that your defence are more than capable of dealing with our strikers and that no Leicester player could get into your starting eleven. And with Lukaku and Mirallas missing who knows what could happen on Saturday. Yes on paper your team does look a lot better however it doesn't usually work out that way.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 If someone offered me a point I'd probably take it. I can't see us getting a win in the first five games. So a point to get us off the mark isn't the worst result

And with Lukaku and Mirallas missing who knows what could happen on Saturday. Yes on paper your team does look a lot better however it doesn't usually work out that way. Â See, I'd agree that it's silly to underestimate your strikers before a ball has been kicked, especially when our defence hasn't looked imperious in pre-season, but I do have to say I struggle to think of a Leicester player who'd make our team consistently when looking at them on paper now. I rate Knockeart quite highly and Ulloa, but they'd at best make our bench. Â Not intending to insult your side there either, but it's just the reality of the gulf between Championship and Premier League football. It means nothing in any given game though - our "stars" might not turn up and you're players have a blinder and do us 3-0 (we've seen it over the years with Port Vale, Tranmere, Shrewsbury and Wigan to name a few, and you're a far better side than they were at the time).
ARTY_FOX Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Everton should expect to win and if they turn up expecting a game they will do. If they turn up thinking were some rubbish team that they can just brush aside then they'll have a tough day.
