Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Which side will he likely be on? Preferable Right but he Switches with albrighton all game
cjslcfc Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Which side will he likely be on? With injury to Albrighton and Knockaert then most likely the Right hand side I think.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 According to Sky Sports and first for lcfc Wolves have agreed a fee for Chris Wood? Not sure if true as on twitter he says he is looking forward to next week? Think it is a mistake if he goes and therefore we will lose the option of using him against Everton. Wanted him to prove himself this season as i think he has potential to be good! He won't get many games this season and doubt he would've got a look in against Everton
Number 6 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Think this is a decent opener for us. Playing against a Premier League mainstay is a great welcome back. I think Everton will be just too strong for us in the end but I am expecting us to be competitive. Kasper Rdl Moore Morgan Sclupp Drinkwater James Knockaert(if fit) Nugent Mahrez Ulloa Final score Leicester 1-2 Everton.
NewburyFox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Considering Vardy hasn't played the last couple of games of pre-season, I'd be very surprised to see him start on Saturday. 20 minutes or so off the bench from him is the best we can hope for I reckon. With that in mind, I can see a 4-2-3-1 with Nugent playing off Ulloa. Riyad and (hopefully) Albrighton on the wings and Danny and James CM. If Albrighton isn't fit then probably Schlupp on the wing at a guess, unless Nigel fancies playing Nugent out there. RDL-Wes-Liam-Schlupp is our best back four IMO, although Konchesky will play at LB if Schlupp is on the wing. The defence doesn't fill me with confidence, especially LB, but it doesn't look like we will get a defender in before Saturday so that will have to do. I'd take a point.
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I'm going to do with Schmeichel RDL Moore Wes Konch Albrighton (if fit) DD James Mahrez Nugent Ulloa

Vardy only failed a late fitness test so if he doesn't pick up any more injuries this week in training I think he'll start but not play full-match.

theessexfox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I doubt any of our players would make their bench... we may still have a chance but the top of the Championship to top 6 of the Premier League is a huge gulf, and they have quality in depth. Still beatable on our day though.

The old lady Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Everton fan here. I rate you quite a bit, especially vardy- but to think it'll be simple points since we haven't had a good pre season is silly, we have played unfamiliar formations with different players - if we play our strongest XI we only have 3 players who aren't full internationals (however Pienaar and Barry used to be) Distin may be 36 but he has a turn of pace as good as any really and will have the experience to be able limit vardy The game will depend on how well you press us we will have the majority of the ball and with players like Baines, Coleman and Barkley seeing the majority of it your defence will have to be concentrating for 90 minutes - it's been a long time since you've been in this league but I think your first defeat won't come on the opening day. Score draw, Nugent will fancy his chances but we have quality throughout the side but I don't think we are sharp enough to win Best of luck this season fellas
roblcfc84 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I am going with: KS RDL. WM LM. PK MJ. DD RM. DN. MA (if fit) if not AK LU 2-1 foxes - Nugent and Ulloa
SomalianFox15 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 If I was from Liverpool I'd support Tranmere.
kingfox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Really hoping Albrighton is fit for this game, we need wingers who are good at tracking back, and Albrighton has proved so far he can help out well defensively. Baines & Coleman overlapping & the quality they deliver when they do, could be the difference in this game. We need to work seriously hard, and hopefully double up on them, and stop as many crosses as we can. This game is seriously not ideal for Konchesky, once Coleman overlaps or looks to cut inside he will be gone, leaving Konchesky for dead. Pace going forward, and pace tracking back will be key, and if Lukaku plays close him down and get right on his back, back to goal he isn't the best.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Oh yeh and another to watch is RDL. he's very good going forward.
Leicesterpool Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Its my first visit mate, look out for the blue pyro haha. If you can give me any tips on players to watch etc it would make for a better viewing. I usually just see the number and have no clue who it is! Most have already been mentioned, pre match if your looking for a good place to drink I'd suggest The Last Plantagenet, cheap round seeing as its a wetherspoons. It's on the way to the city centre but only a couple minute walk from the station you should spot it straight away (If your coming by train). Near the ground... erm actually guys is there any pubs near the ground that let away fans in, cause I can't think of any. I think the hotel next door as started allowing away fans i think.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 The Counting House is fine for away fans
Fosse93 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Do we reckon Vardy will start if fit? I can see Nige going with Ulloa and Nuge.

Those of us who watched Lloyd Dyer seemingly get faster and faster in his 5 years here should know that age is not necessarily a barrier to pace. That being said, I don't think any of us are convinced Vardy will definately playing given his recovery from injury, so I'd expect him to make a bench appearance at best. It'd also be typical of Nuge to score against the club he supports, not least given how sharp he's looked in pre-season. 1-1 or 2-2 methinks. Hoping Ulloa gets on the scoresheet for us too, think it's clear he's been signed as a set-piece target man and to lay off the ball for others to score from, but it would silence some of the idiots who have been talking him down since the moment he put pen to paper. Let's go 2-2 (Ulloa, Nugent - Barkley, Naismith).

I don't think his only job will be to hold the ball up

benpicko Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Hi guys, Everton fan "in peace", whatever that means. It's going to be an interesting game - I think you're wide of the mark if you think we underestimate you. It's quite the opposite in fact; I think our pre-season has been deliberately less taxing so that we have the energy to throw at a side that will be brimming with confidence after an excellent Championship season and will be looking to make a mark early doors. So it's not complacency from Evertonians, rather something that is a bit alien to us - confidence. That doesn't mean I think we'll walk the game, but I do think we'll win it, and that's not a dig at your clubs ability at all, but a confidence in our own. Pre-season has been a bit of a misnomer for us as we've never played a full strength game. Take the Thailand friendly; you were pretty much at full strength for that one and we were a reserve team when compared to the side we'll put out in the Prem. Depending on the side you put out, you could cause us problems if we're slow out the block - Ulloa is a decent player and there's a decent balance throughout your side - but my opinion is that you'll sit back and keep it tight early on to avoid a silly early goal to kill the momentum of your fans, and if you do that then you'll find it difficult to turn the game as we're an excellent side on the front foot. Agree you're going to miss the likes of Vardy as the best plan of attack against Everton is to close us down rapidly, defend from the front and not allow the midfield in the game in the final third or in wide areas. Should be a good game anyway, personally wouldn't be too distraught with a draw. By the way, if you want to gain proper understanding of an Evertonian, try www.grandoldteam.com as that's the "hub" of our fanbase online. Cheers, and good luck for the season ahead! Why do people keep saying this
