Group of 11 of us heading to Dusseldorf this weekend for my 30th birthday (2 years delayed thanks to Covid). While we are there we have managed to get tickets for Bochum vs Leverkusen on the Sunday afternoon. Most of us will be sporting some sort of Leicester kit/colours and we are meeting up with some of the Bochum guys who have been over for Leicester games in the past.

For 10 of us it will be a first visit to Bochum and a big tick in the box on the to do list. Will report on experience of the day on return.

Sure you'll have a blast mate. The lads will give you a warm welcome.

Returned home today. The experience at Bochum yesterday was amazing. We were all made to feel at home and the guys over there were fantastic. The game itself (0-0) was a flat affair but the atmosphere was amazing. Proper old school terrace including smoking and drinking in your spot. The overall matchday experience was just so much more relaxed and enjoyable. You could even bring beers in from the beer garden next door (in plastic cups).

I will definitely make a return and look forward to having some Bochum guys come over here in return. Leverkusen fans also put on a pyro show before KO and the Bochum ultras had organised a tifo (it was the first full capacity game since Covid hit).

We did have a near miss at the end of the match as we got caught up in the police escort of the 2,500 Leverkusen fans to the station and their ultras were in the mood to pick on a few of us. After starting to be surrounded and pushed and kicked, 4 armed police eventually pushed me aside and told me to start walking quicker so to avoid them. Eventually we managed to get down some side streets and away from them. As we were heading in the same direction on the train we decided to wait an hour before heading back.

Glad you had a great time. Perhaps you will see some of the guys you met out there next weekend against Villa or in fact in Eindhoven if you are travelling there?

Great game to end up at, seemed a bit flat on the pitch but certainly not in the stands!

Tomorrow all being well a number of us are buying Bochum season tickets for the use of Leicester guys and when we are not there friends of friends. The tickets work out at £160 each, incredible value!
If anyone is interested in going do speak up, would love to help you out.

I agreed to do the same at Excelsior Rotterdam for me and my lad. Bargain at 250 quid for the pair. Thought it would be a good way to support a local club who treated us well when over after PSV. Then we had an added bonus as they honoured the price even after promotion to the Eredivise via a very extended play offs they had to win 3 lots of 2 legged ties. Check out the result v ADO if you have time. Incredible.

Dropped 2 of my Leicester season tickets at the cost of nearly 900 quid to cover the cost and pay for a couple of visits. Having them posted to my mates address in Rotterdam so they get used. Hoping to get out a couple times before Christmas , flights from Luton late Friday or Birmingham early sat and several times after the New Year for long weekend including a trip to FC Eindhoven hopefully and hoping I'll finally get that trip to de kuip in.

We are also hoping to cross the border and get a game in Germany in next time although the talk was schalke 04 as one of the Dutch lads knows a few of the players.

Cracking idea as a group tho. And if we ever find ourselves in Bochum then we may well be asking if we can borrow them

Great idea this. A few of us might be looking at going over next year, will perhaps give you a shout nearer the time? Maybe even meet a few Leicester lot over there one time, would be right up for it.
