LCFC FOX Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 The ref who didn't call the Ipswich game off!
mozartfox Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 Darren Deadman 5000% Agree. An absolute cvnt. Before I moved to Austria I used to watch a few Conference games and witnessed his rise to the Football League. Definitely the worst specimen I have ever seen by a Country Mile. Although the Erland Johnson penalty award was quite special by Mr Reid.
Foxhateram Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 Paul Durkin, he allowed 2 offside goals to count vs Arsenal right near the end of the game. We were holding on to a 1-0 lead, looking to end their unbeaten run. Then suddenly the ref decides to override the lines mans flag, who pulled his flag down very quickly I might add. Second goal was also clearly offside. Ah well.
Weller in Tights Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 Oadby Owls v Groby Under 14 Division A August 31st 2014 10:30 am kick off. WORST REF EVER!!!!! I am quite sane, I have been watching City since 1968, watched England home and abroad, I've played at various c##p levels, I've ran school teams and Sunday junior/youth teams for nearly 30 yrs I have watched so many games on TV there is not a number devised to record the value. The ref at the game above was easily worse than anything I have EVER seen. End the thread now.

Guest bss9401 Posted 9 September 2014 Posted 9 September 2014 For me, the penalty decisions on the play off finals against Blackburn and Swindon. The Swindon penno was wrong and cruel luck for us.
Houdini Logic Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Uriah Rennie and his attempt to turn every match into 'The Uriah Rennie Show'.
maddog Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Uriah Rennie vs Leeds at Filbert street. Don't remember what he did but its stuck in my mind for long time. Think it was an evening game. Edit: Must have been liverpool or newcastle in 1999
Gary Eatfood Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 If I recall correctly Danny Baker lost his job at 5live over his "offensive" rant about Mike Reid's dodgy penalty decision against Chelsea.
HEGGSY Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Who sent James off at Charlton?Darren Deadman. Tosser
RutlandFox91 Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Cardiff (A) Play-off Semi Final. Didn't spot the Chopra kick on Wellens'? head and then the offside leading up to their pen which squared it up on aggregate. The rest we all know
bovril Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Uriah Rennie was great at first, I thought he was a breath of fresh air. Then he went really dodgy all of a sudden. I wonder what happened to him....
Corky Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Darren Deadman, the epitomy of useless officiating displayed in a look at me, I'm important fashion. Wasn't just Charlton last season, he also reffed us at Ipswich in a 1-0 loss last March and was suitably incompetent. Barry Knight the carnival referee was another prat, from the Filbert St days.
bluesbrothers Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 I have seen some shocking performances from Refs, but one that sticks out for me was whoever reffed our game against Newcastle in the 09/10 season. It was the Football League's "launch fixture" for their Respect the Ref campaign, and whoever he was was so one-sided in his decisions in favour of the Geordies that it was ridiculous. He sent Wellens off for a 50-50 tackle, kept letting fouls from them slide and calling up play every time we so much as brushed an opponent. At half and full time he had to be escorted from the pitch by security, such was the vitriol being thrown his way.I believe the main chant that day way "respect the ref, you're having a laugh." But we did end up drawing 0-0, even if he essentially killed the game the moment he reached for his cards.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Andre Marriner was ref vs Toon in 2009/10. Worst decision was not giving a pen when we slammed a free kick straight into a player in the wall which hit his hand which wasb above his head. Embarrassing

Never seen a crowd so angry at a ref, always had something against Marriner after that game.
fazzyfox Posted 10 September 2014 Posted 10 September 2014 Uriah Rennie was great at first, I thought he was a breath of fresh air. Then he went really dodgy all of a sudden. I wonder what happened to him.... I remember a game (not City though) where he awarded a free kick on the corner edge of the box. The defending team were going ballistic at him about the decision and so he used the then new rule of moving the kick forward ten yards. The attacking team didn't want this as they had a much poorer shooting angle so they all protested too. So you had Rennie back peddling whilst 22 players chased him Benny Hill style all going potty at him. I used to get great amusement from the way he'd mime and re-enact the offence with great detail and clarity, you often see players ask "what was that for" so it was good to give them an answer but I feel he started playing to the crowd and some of his mimes became so complex and involving it was like watching Marcel Marveau in action.
