Buzzell Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 The Railway Pub in Glenfield do lovely, cheap grub.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 Used to live not 5 minutes walk from The 'mill and would often go down even just for a baguette and a pint or something on a Saturday afternoon. It's simply just how pubs should be done, a brilliant establishment.
Bayfox Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 gonna have to try this mill place. for my 2p worth. if you like tapas. barcelonetta on queens rd.
Narborough_fox Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 If one more person tells me to eat at Grove Farm I'm going to flip my shit. It's supposed to be lush. I live about about a 5 minute drive away and I still haven't been when everyone else I know has. Really stressing me out.
VLC86 Posted 24 September 2014 Posted 24 September 2014 gonna have to try this mill place. for my 2p worth. if you like tapas. barcelonetta on queens rd. I would second that, decent cocktails in the bar next door as well. I know this is a thread about restaurants in Leicester but I thoroughly recommend a trip to Nottingham and Annie's Burger Shack.

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Looking to take the missus out for a meal at the weekend for our anniversary - any suggestions? Don't mind what cuisine or cost (upto about £50 a head) just somewhere I haven't been that's guaranteed a good night out

Samilktray Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Most of the places in this thread seem to be outside of the city centre. What's the best place to eat in town in folks opinion?
Guest MattP Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 There's an Italian in Anstey called Sapori. It's the bollox. Great shout, only problem is you feel very squeezed in, the food is fantastic though. Most of the places in this thread seem to be outside of the city centre. What's the best place to eat in town in folks opinion? Pretty average in the town centre for fine dining isn't it these days. 1573 has gone downhill bigtime and that was my fave. I suppose the Case and Casa Romana are the top of the list now. If you want a great meal though you have to get out to the Shire....
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 There's an Italian in Anstey called Sapori. It's the bollox. Cheers, will look into it The Case. Went a couple of years ago, very nice meal but I'm thinking something a bit different I suppose the Case and Casa Romana are the top of the list now. If you want a great meal though you have to get out to the Shire.... I don't mind driving elsewhere, in fact I'd probably rather somewhere away from town.
Soar Fox Posted 29 September 2014 Posted 29 September 2014 Una mentioned it earlier in the thread. The Windmill inn at Newbold Verdon is very nice.
