Hamer for Burnley?

Cant help but feel hugely disappointed in Kasper on Saturday, the more i see that free kick, the more it irritates me but having said all that, i wouldnt drop him yet. That could shatter his confidence plus he's been unbelivably consistent for us so he deserves more time.

Yes Hamer did well agaisnt Stoke but it would take a brave manager to make that call at present.

Why is nobody moaning like hell about Matty James giving away an absolutely needless free kick!!!???? Thats where it started

He made a few fumbles in the first 20 minutes or so. After that though, he got a lot better, and was solid. He looked a lot better at coming out for stuff and dealing with crosses in that game then Kasper has so far in any game this season.

I don't expect Hamer to be our number one keeper, and I know he was shaky in pre-season from what I gather. However I think he still deserved another start off the back of that Stoke performance, especially as it was our only clean sheet so far.

There are 22 players on the pitch, Stoke not scoring was more to do with them being utterly woeful anywhere within 25 yards of our box. Hamer made a couple of catches and a double save, but as you also admit he fumbled a few as well. I could point out half a dozen catches each game that Kasper deals with fine.

My overriding opinion when watching him was that he was not comfortable, the commentators on the stream said as much themselves. If he had been seriously top draw in that game them I'd have no problem with people saying he deserved another game, but I think people are bigging him up to be something he has yet to really show. Including pre season - where we need to be honest, he was bloody awful. His mistakes weren't even mildly debatable like Kaspers, they were massive clangers.

I agree with most of this, although IMO Hamer did better than you say at Stoke, albeit after a nervous start.

The frustrating thing for me is that Kasper has had a weakness with crosses, particularly set pieces, for a while and we haven't done anything to deal with it. Some of the blame certainly lies with the back four, but I've played centre back most of my life and the keeper is in charge in his box.

The free kick was an error of judgement, and poor from the wall, but a one off. The persistent struggles with corners and free kicks is ongoing, and that's why people feel the 'untouchable' status undermines the drive to improve.

I like Kasper and I think he adds a huge amount to our team, but I'd like to see him spend three or four solid days catching/punching crosses and really sorting this weakness out. Otherwise it'll keep costing us games we should win.

Think they should have put 10 on the line with the keeper 2 yards in front

Fifa tactics works well on there and other posters seem to think it will work in real life. Why not

Fully agree with your last paragraph, but surely by now he's practiced them regularly. I'd hazard a guess that they'll always be his weakness. We're not talking about a kid here, he's experienced enough to have improved in this area, and hasn't

squawka's stats have kasper as our worst player so far this season. but amazing also have konch and hammond as our other two worst players. i'd have konch as our best defender this season, let alone one of our worst players in the whole squad.

Because it wasn't his fault that we conceded the goal, never mind saying James conceded the free kick that led to the goal.
