isaidno Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 14 years ago today we drew at Sunderland to go top of the premier league for the first and only time
Guest Papasmurf Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 Still have the newspaper cut out of the league table.
silebyboy Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 Football didn't start with the Premier League Who said that it did?
Corky Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 Conceded two goals in those first eight games and none away. Highlight was the win at Chelsea.
Tom's Pasta Posted 1 October 2014 Posted 1 October 2014 I believe there was an international break if I remember correctly so we were top for two weeks as well which just extended that good feeling
VLC86 Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 We were top on the day I was born... So basically it all went down hill since you came along. Have you ever tried climbing back in?
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Also a draw at home to Everton sent us top too
Burbo17J2 Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 So basically it all went down hill since you came along. Have you ever tried climbing back in?Believe me I wanted to
Rob1742 Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Remember being very worried and unsure about Taylor. Then when we hit the top I rang someone and said that at least now we will be alright. But I still had that unsure feeling as you could just tell it was going to unfold. Different feeling now though, we have a good group, good manager and the feeling is totally different. I feel much better and secure about our club being 14th or wherever we are, than being 1st under Taylor. Weird, but sonetimes you just know don't you from the set up that is in place
glenelgfox Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Also a draw at home to Everton sent us top too That was just before xmas if remember? I recall the commentator saying something along the lines of this at end of game: "and for the time since 1963 Leicester City sit atop of English Football at Xmas."
Kitchandro Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 We were top at Christmas?! Fvcking hell, what an absolute disaster.

Corky Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 We were top at Christmas?! Fvcking hell, what an absolute disaster. We were third, level with Arsenal in 2nd place.

ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Also a draw at home to Everton sent us top too Yeah I seem to remember it being a draw at home to Everton and then Man Utd losing away at Sunderland giving us a better goal difference that put us top?
